Expired Domains PageRank Follow-up

So.. by now everyone talks about how Google is killing the expired domains, blah blah.. so I go back to my December PageRank list from Clickmojo...

Let's take a look.
cuentosyrelatos.com - PR 7
acousticguitarfestival.com - PR 7
chemsafety.com - PR 7 (altho unused/wasted)
chemsafety.net - PR 7
fightaboutmoney.com - PR 7 (unused)

there were 65 more of them.

Brujah,

You're so right. Even the domains I purchased recently still
kept their PR. Are you publishing your PR list today?

GoogleGuy

This whole business is how people tell you one thing and do
another. I'm not listening to that guy again ;)

To your PR lists

Lastly about Google, they should stop trying to ruin
peoples business and work around what made them famous.

Yahoo is on their tail and will take the lead down the stretch
with the newbies.

We all go where the newbies are.

Can't wait for google to go down, not down in flames mind you, but them controling about 80% of the online searches is enought to make most webmasters uneasy

Yeah I want Google to go down in flames.

Google is getting way too much power, thinking they
own the Internet (they do for now)...

They will go down, especially pissing off the webmasters that
made them.

On a side note, thanks for the traffic Google

Brujah you got google lists now too?
Damn, I thought we were the only ones with em

anyone who thinks google is going to pay attention to every one of its millions of domains to see which ones expired and were picked up after is too funny.

I was actually talking about feeding you google expireds

Seeing as we are one of apparently only 2 that have them.

DarkJedi: what did you do with the domains? As in leave em so they had no dns or webpages?

When buying expireds with linkpop, *always* put something on them fast.

I have the google lp data, but I'm not sure it's as important as the PageRank data. I throw out everything below PR 4.

Google is evil.

They want the internet under their control. They want to dictate who you can link to, and who you can't. Instead of overlooking hidden text, links, etc.. they want to punish you brutally. You must be perfect little webtoddlers and obey the google komissar.

Anyway, PR isn't all that.
I have a PR5 site and this dude has PR6 site. I'm still ranking 2 positions higher than he does.

PR can be "all that" IF you take the time to also optimize your website. If you do not then no, you wont list as high no matter what.

Believe what you want, say what you want. You were unfortunate.. I'm telling you man, the domains I bought
from last year on thru this year are keeping their PR.

Maybe google is attacking them, who knows.. the benefits
outweigh the penalties.

Let google waste some of their resources on expireds... I want Yahoo to smoke them.

You and GoogleGuy are buddies eh? j/k

If PR is shit, why are people talking about MiniNet's and
building up PR?

Who knows.. unless we work for Google nobody
really knows.

All these domains have been registered as late as in March 2003 and their PR will be zeroed in the next update simply by checking their Creation Date. Google absolutely doesn't need to follow all expired domains, just comparing data of those he has in index once in a while is enough.
Can you show us Brujah some domain registered in January at the latest and still having it's PR ?

buy them. Cough, googleguy was right... don't buy expired
domains for PR.

We'll see. I'm not implying that it can't happen at all, just that it didn't happen to this December batch that had been down for as long as 3 months, then re-registered and still hold very high PR.

I have names registered back around that time that still have good PR also.

So from these few observations so far:
Not in zone Dec 2002 - No PR loss.
Registered in Jun 2002 - No PR loss.
Registered in Dec 2002 - No PR loss.
Registered in Mar 2003 - No PR loss.

If you want access to the lists on the rare occasions that I post them, you'll have to be a member for that

If you want access to the lists on the rare occasions that I post them, you'll have to be a member for that
You list the domains with PR that you don't register on your site from time to time?

Just to clarify, there are numerous other reasons to buy expired domains. PR is not the only reason, nor the best reason.

95% of my drops have lost PR, trying to find a pattern with the remainding 5% as to why they survived.
