Trump's Foxconn scam - no new 13,000 jobs, no new mega factory just lies from Trump

More lies & broken promises from the conman Trump.

'Foxconn Was a Major Con': Backed by Trump Promises and $4 Billion in Subsidies, Company Admits Factory Jobs Not Coming

President Donald Trump, Wisconsin's former Republican Gov. Scott Walker, and former House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) spent a lot of time at press events and photo-ops last year touting the 13,000 manufacturing jobs Foxconn was supposedly going to create in the U.S., but—as with many of his job claims—the president's soaring promises are looking increasingly hollow.

"Trump bragged about his deal with Foxconn to bring jobs to Wisconsin. So far 178 people were hired—but the company is on track to score over $4 billion in incentives.
That's $22M per job. #WhatADeal."
—Swing Left

As Reuters reported on Wednesday, the Taiwanese tech firm—which Walker lured to Wisconsin with over $4 billion in taxpayer subsidies—is now saying "it intends to hire mostly engineers and researchers rather than the manufacturing workforce the project originally promised."

In an exclusive interview with Reuters, Louis Woo, a special assistant to Foxconn chairman Terry Gou, said the company is completely walking back its plan to build $10 billion factory in Wisconsin.

"In Wisconsin we're not building a factory. You can't use a factory to view our Wisconsin investment," Woo said.

As Reuters notes, FoxConn "initially said it expected to employ about 5,200 people by the end of 2020; a company source said that figure now looks likely to be closer to 1,000 workers. It is unclear when the full 13,000 workers will be hired. But Woo, in the interview, said about three-quarters of Foxconn's eventual jobs will be in R&D and design—what he described as 'knowledge' positions—rather than blue-collar manufacturing jobs."

"Foxconn took Wisconsin for a ride. Other states, beware the allure of the mega deal," wrote Reid Wilson, reporter for The Hill.

News that FoxConn is slowly reversing its promises of manufacturing investment and job-creation will come as no surprise to progressive analysts and corporate welfare critics, who have argued all along that the sweetheart deal Walker and Wisconsin Republicans cut with FoxConn in 2017 was an "absolute fraud."

"I remain skeptical that the Foxconn project will ever play out as advertised," Greg LeRoy, executive director of Good Jobs First, told Bloomberg last week.

Following Reuters' report on Foxconn's moves to renege on its previous job pledges, critics pointed to footage of Trump participating in a "groundbreaking" ceremony with Walker, Ryan, and Foxconn's chairman at the site of the company's planned facility last June, where he touted the 13,000 manufacturing positions the tech firm vowed to create.

"I'm thrilled to be here in the Badger State with the hardworking men and women of Foxconn working with you," Trump declared during the event. "Moments ago, we broke ground on a plant that will provide jobs for much more than 13,000 Wisconsin workers. Really something. Really something."

Has nothing to do with Trump and more to do with Apple's sales going down.

Job numbers continue to far exceed predictions and expectations and the DOW closed above 25,000 today.

Manufacturing jobs continue their rapid pace of growth - even though Obama said those jobs were gone for good and not coming back.

Just nothing but bad news as usual for all you unhinged leftists who keep rooting for the failure of your own nation, it's government and the people,... just because... Orange Man Bad.

Well, yes, but no. But yes, and well no... but a little yes.

iPhone sales are falling for a few reasons: They introduced a cheap battery replacement program for older phones. Their new phones are expensive. 5G is around the corner so some buyers, at least buyers like me, won't be buying another phone until 5G hits. The US Dollar is strong & tensions between China and the US have caused a drop in iPhone sales in China, which represents 15% of Apple iPhone sales.

Now add the trade war Trump started with China. Now consider that maybe Trump was bullshitting as you know he has done before.

And now just think about the basic economics of it. Why would a company in China hire 13,000 blue collar workers at $15 an hour when it can get the same workforce in China for alot less? Even with the $4Billion incentive Trump made, it still doesn't make alot of sense.

I'm not at all surprised that the jobs did not appear.

Obama was touting people's unemployment benefits running out in the middle of the lowest workforce participation rate in a century, as an improvement in jobs numbers and economic success.

Of course that was fake. We were in a severe recession and both workforce participation rates and unemployment were at record highs.

Today's economic reality, GDP, job growth and stock market performance / economy are nothing at all like it was then.

But then again, why care about reality when... Orange Man Bad!!

Foxconn is switching everything to automation to avoid paying slaves wages to their Chinese workers. What real incentive would they have to build a factory in America and pay "overpaid" American workers? It was a scam from the beginning to make some politicians rich, including Paul Ryan. Fucking scumbag.

Of course they were fake. His Presidency had the lowest workforce participation rate in a century and the worst economic recovery in almost a century.

The DOW hit over 25,000 today.
Job numbers are at record highs
Unemployment numbers are at record lows
Unemployment for women, blacks & Hispanics are at all time lows.
Manufacturing jobs are growing rapidly (though Obama said that couldn't happen)

And your Lord & Savior Obama, once made fun of Trump's economic promises by asking sarcastically how he was going to grow jobs... asking if he had a "magic wand" to make that happen.

And here we are. It's happening as Trump said it would and again, you unhinged twits can't accept reality... because Orange Man Bad.

"Resist Trump at all costs" is not a political platform that sane voters can get behind in 2020. It is nothing more than the final refuge of unhinged pussies who ran out of ideas decades ago.

Just for a little perspective.

GDP - Trump has had 1 quarter above 4% and the rest have been pretty similar to Obama's. So, no, there hasn't been some crazy big boom in GDP.

Job Growth - There is no denying that the job numbers have been excellent. I would suggest Obama had something to do with it but so did Trump. Either way, the job numbers have been good.

Stock Market - In Trump's first two years in office the stock market has gained about 36%. In Obama's first two years in office it gained about 33%. So, no, there is no massive Trump gain.

I'm not saying the economy hasn't been doing well, it has been. Maybe we should all refrain, however, from lining up to suck the Orange Man's cock until we take an actual look at the numbers.

You're not factoring a trade war and 7 rate hikes. Obama had free money for 8 years. 2 MAJOR things.

Obama also went on a long binge creating new and stifling business regulations by executive order in the middle of the worst recession since the Great Depression... all of which Trump had to undo in his first week of office. Today we are the worlds largest producer of oil, exporting more oil than we import. Today the steel industry is revived. Today mining is revived. Today, manufacturing is revived... etc etc etc. Obama could have made that happen but didn't. In fact, he did the opposite. He ran around telling US Citizens and US Business that it could never happen again.

He was wrong about a few things. He wasn't wrong about environmental stuff. We should be protecting the environment. I stand by the numbers. You can qualify it any way you want, it doesn't change the fact that Trump's GDP and stock market numbers have been right on par with Obama's.

Also, Obama was right about most manufacturing jobs. Check this out https://data.bls.gov/timeseries/ces3000000001

As you will see, the numbers now are up, but still pretty similar to what they were in 2015. Now we get to watch as these jobs go away and are replaced with robots. That said, I'm glad people are getting to work today, but let's not crown manufacturing jobs as the Savior of the nation. Like the wall, it is a solution to yesterday's problem.

Once again, the Orange Agent has failed to actually do what people are giving him credit for.

iPhone sales are falling for a few reasons: They introduced a cheap battery replacement program for older phones.

I'm not at all surprised that the jobs did not appear.
not to forget that they could not get enough screws for the new iphone in USA.

no all have nothing to do with trump and his horrible knowledge about economies.

Tough news for the unhinged Left who keep rooting for the failure of the nation.

I have seen a lot of hate spewed in the last few years about a man who is a constant winner and overachiever, and that's what the people who support him like about him.

But just shut up and get over it!!! Don't let your panties get all wadded up.

Yes, he's been caught in some lies and maybe twisted the truth a little but he's still out there proving his haters wrong time after time!

Some people are just jealous of someone who is successful and has money. Throw in a hot foreign model at his side and they hate even more.

You may not have wanted him in his role, but he's there now and there's nothing you can do about it.

I know its just going to get worse over the next several days, but like it or not, Tom Brady is in the Super Bowl.

what man are you talking about ?

you can not mean trump.

tell me what exactly did he do !

he has an existing economic upswing that has been going on for years and was briefly inflated with borrowed money and that declared his victory.

He lowered taxes and thus burdened the already over-indebted state budget even more.

he has further increased the trade deficit with china despite the trade war. and at the same time farmers are closing down their farms because their income is being eroded by his nonsensical trade war.

he has driven companies out of the country in droves.

he has destroyed America's reputation as a reliable partner all over the world.

the bottom line is that he didn't owe any more for all this than his predecessor, who had to fight the consequences of one of the biggest crises of the last 100 years.

he is currently leading the world back to the times of the cold war.

he has filled the country with hate.

he promised you to have the best people and a short time later he threw them out again.

he denies scientific findings on which the fate of the whole world depends and even forbids their opening.

he denies the information of his own secret services and puts world peace at risk.

he has done nothing about the actual problems of america, such as far too high costs for medical care, mass murder and drugs.

and last but not least: he's a damn bad golf player.

So what exactly did he win?
