London is "The City".

As for the PayPal conference... I can only think of two reasons to go. A) If you have a non-adult business, too, or B) If you want to protest them getting rid of our business.

LOL Ian, I can think of one more reason

Anyway, who lives in SF? I get in next Wednesday afternoon late if anyone wants to get together quietly -- the darn thing starts at 8 am and those of you that know me realize that I'm not a morning person under the best of circumstances ;)

I'm on it!

I can also think of another good reason for wanting to go - it's hunting season!

So bring whatever you packing and lets do some target practicing.

If Elon Musk takes care of my expenses, I will be there.

I want to hear what PayPal has to say about the outstanding lawsuits against them from porn webmasters.

Why worry about the past and why waste time and money onit. What's done is done and will not be undone, well not in this case.

Paypal gave everyone fair notice and they can do business with who ever they choose to, it is after all their business.

Maybe we should be looiing inwardly at why they did not want to do business with us?

Too many obscene sites, too many scammers, bad publicity, Hi risk.

Let's get our shop into order before we start to poing fingers.

Or are we as an idustry allowed to do business as any individual feels fit and all the banks and corperations should offer us any facility we want?

Wait for Ashhahahahaha to go after Visa, under the RICO act, for clearing payments on a child porn site, then we will see the shit hit the fan.

I've been thinking about the least last post I made here and other than the spelling came to these conclusions.

We as an industry are judged as a whole not individuals, so when one of us does wrong we are all branded with the same iron. Are we judged as Hugh Heffners or Max Hardcores? It does not matter what we are it matters how we are perceived to be.

The Internet porn industry is the newest and by far the least regulated of all the porn industries.

So when it comes to bankers allowing their system to clear and collect money for us let?s look at the two arguments from the their side.

REASONS FOR.
More business and therefore more money. How much is debatable, some say it is less that 1% of their over all business.

REASON?S AGAINST.
It?s the porn industry. (Bad publicity)
Some webmasters sell illegal products. (Child porn.)
Some webmasters sell products into countries where they are illegal. (Beastiality, Skat, Urination, Rape, Incest, Porn)
Some of the legal sites are very close to illegal and highly distasteful.
Some sites carry pirated material. (AVS, TGP, MPG, Freesites, Newsgroup harvesters)
A lot of them do little to nothing to reduce it. (Adult Check was not the first company to say ?Nothing we can do?)
A lot of sites have great tours and little behind them. (Basically rip offs)
Some webmasters do little to pay tax or hold proper records.
A lot of webmasters Spam sites to unsuspecting email addresses.

So the next time someone shoots down a company like Paypal for getting out of porn let?s think about it from the other side.

If we clean up our act we may find we might be a bit more acceptable.

Kimmykim is on top it. The conference is about the technology. I think we all agree that having an option other than paypal with the same capabilities would be nice.

Why would my opinions on Paypal be negative? I'm still taking them as a payment method, I have no reason to dog them.

I also understand what their issues are, perhaps more so than quite a few.
