Cloaking 2257 addresses

Ok, "don't fuck with the feds." That being said, is there any way too avoid posting name and address on the net?

Currently I am adding non-breaking spaces to my info, so it looks
l i k e t h i s.
I just googled it, and it is NOT being parsed by google.

Another idea is to use an image that shows the info. That keeps it out of google for sure.

both methods help with google, but not with anyone on the site.

What of obliterating the image so that the info is "there" but not legible? I'm thinking of those images that are all fucked up so that automated bots can't read them and make hotmail accounts. How "fucked up" can it get, and still be an image of the contact info?

Or, how about making the text very small? It's still there, it's legible, if you have very good eyesight. Maybe add the info to the bottom of a girl pic (wth "sample" written all over it so no one will post it) as "fine print" which will not be seen by most people, even if they look for it. Or even better, a boring logo pic that has the info in fine print.

How about making the image regular size, but force it to render 1x1 pixel with size attributes?

My feeling is that they don't want any minor technicalities, they want good, clean cases of full blown violations. So, doing stuff like this is good enough to send them on their way.

thoughts on this?

this is about trying to avoid posting my name and address on a website, at least in a way that the average idiot can parse it.

The point I'm making is that no where does it say how large the font must be, etc. So what if it's very small? It's there, so no violation, right?

If posting the info in very small print is a violation, I'd like to know how. I've read the statute, and it does not specify font size or anything to do with legibility. It does say the info must be there, so fine, put it there. Just make is small. How is that a violation?

Damn you are a dumb one. You read the statute huh? And what did youyr attorney tell you?

Oh wait. I got 10 grand that says you did not even conuslt with an attorney. You may want to closely review Section 75.8

" TITLE 28--JUDICIAL ADMINISTRATION

PART 75--CHILD PROTECTION RESTORATION AND PENALTIES ENHANCEMENT ACT OF 1990; RECORD-KEEPING PROVISIONS--

Sec. 75.8 Location of the statement.

All books, magazines, and periodicals shall contain the statement required in Sec. 75.6 or suggested in Sec. 75.7 either on the first page that appears after the front cover or on the page on which copyright information appears. In any film or videotape which contains end credits for the production, direction, distribution, or other activity in connection with the film or videotape, the statement referred to in Sec. 75.6 or Sec. 75.7 shall be presented at the end of the end titles or final credits and shall be displayed for a sufficient duration to be capable of being read by the average viewer. Any other film or videotape shall contain the required statement within one minute from the start of the film or videotape, and before the opening scene, and shall display the statement for a sufficient duration to be read by the average viewer. For all other categories not otherwise mentioned in this section, the statement is to be prominently displayed consistent with the manner of display required for the forementioned categories."

Now, how is putting it in a 1x1 pixel graphic considered a "prominent disply" of the info?

Hire an attorney before you end up in jail.

If you aren't willing to go the full gammut, get out of the business. People who don't know the laws ruin it for those of us who comply with them, research them, pay lawyers to clarify them, that kind of thing. Better decide if this is a business or a hobby, because if you're here for play, you need to find a new toy.

No, Jact, it is not a conspiracy to ask a question, no matter how stupid the question is. It's the difference between "can I?" and "I will" do something.

A conspiracy is when I say "Hey, I am going to rob this bank, but I need some help. Will you help plan it and help rob it?" But even then it's not a conspiracy until you say "sure, I'd like to help with that."

or you could just ask them to blacklist the domain, that'll work

it's easier to get them not to index you, than it is to index you
