I've seen similar priced at around $450,000 Canadian around here.

My parents used to have a 38 foot diesel pusher, though not as nice or big as that one. It was worth around $170,000 Canadian.

yup quite true indeed persiankitty.com has been around as long as I can remember. and even still today its one of the most visited sites on the Internet

ive been in this business quite some time now and I think she has been around longer than my ass ;)..

FYI. We ordered this one the day in November before Bluebird raised their prices. It's a brand new model for them. A bit more reasonable for most than their $700K 44 foot Wanderlodge.

This new model is called an M380. It is 38 feet long. Base price is around $360K. The one my parents will have would go for $380K+ now, but because we got in before the price increase it was about $325K.

Yes it's what my parents wanted. They've had a 36foot Bluebird for a few years, but it needed quite a bit of work. My dad had been looking at Prevost conversion buses of which used one would of had to do because they felt new was way too pricey. Bluebird came otu with this and there was one up here at an RV show back in early November. With them both retired now, it made sense for them to have something to enjoy. They pick it up at the Bluebird plant in Georgia on Tuesday.

I would of loved to send them to Europe, buy them a vacation home, etc. It's not what they wanted. PS.. as mentioned before, they wouldn't let me pay for the entire thing by myself. That's just my parents.

So it's not a Ferrarri.... I don't want one. No fun place to drive them around here and I'm certainly not looking to 'pick up girls'.

Hey PK!! Thanks for the purchase, my future is in your hands

My father-in-law is the Director of Cost Accounting for BlueBird in Fort Valley...has been with them since he was 14 (39 years is a long time to work for one company, huh?). My brother-in-law is in charge of the sheetmetal plant that builds the walls, and most of the rest of my wifes family either works at Blue Bird or at Robins Air Force Base (along with 80% of the rest of middle Georgia).

I think the Wanderlodge is 1,000% better than the Prevost, but then again I am biased

Congrats on the sweet ride...I know they will enjoy it...tell them to stop by my house on their way back North and we will cook them a traditional southern meal

Very nice land-yacht PK. I hope to one day do something monumental like this for my parents. Nice to see others thinking that way as well.

Haha.. SweetT, my parents are Alabama born and raised and I was born in AL, myself. They've had many a traditional southern meal ;) Most of my extended family lives around Birmingham.

It's not one of those big ole 'spensive Wanderlodges, but it's got all the same comforts.

Just heard from them a while ago. Looking at the APRS, they're just south of Atlanta. Planning on staying somewhere in Macon tonight and Monday night, since there isn't anything much in Ft Valley. Planning on hitting the commissary at the AFB to stock up after they take delivery. Thought they'd have to go over to Ft Benning to do that, but then remembered the AFB.

As you know Bluebird has a nice campground there for their customers. They're gonna take it on a shakedown in the next few weeks, sticking down around the South in case they have to get back to Ft Valley for something.

Well then you know all about a good meal. Tell them if they want to get a traditional southern meal without having to cook it, they need to stop at the Georgia State Farmers Market in Forest Park, Georgia. It is 100 feet off of I-75 so they cannot miss it. The restaraunt is called "Thomas' Restaraunt" and you talk about good. Remember VooMan? From Brooklyn? He goes in there about once a week with us and has Turkey and Dressing, Fried Okra, and Cornbread.....he says he wil never eat Stuffing again

I am absolutely sure that it rolled down the Wanderlodge Assembly line, so it really don't matter what name plate they put on it

Robins AFB has the MACDADDY of commissary's....he will think he died and went to heaven

Ah yes, it's called The Birds Nest and it is availble to anyone who owns one of these bad boys. They serve two hot meals a day and all the free hookups for as long as you own the rig....and if your's is being serviced, you can use one of theirs Kind of a sweet deal if you ask me!

I am assuming your father is military based on what you are saying...tell him he owes it to himself to go down Hwy 49 South from Fort Valley to Andersonville to see the Civil War Prison....there is a ton of history there and any veteran will surely get a lump in their throat. If he goes another 12 miles South on 49 he will hit Americus Georgia, childhood home of the founder of NatNet....me

They're already in Macon as of a few hours ago, so Forest Park is too far north now for a supper.

haha.. I've even been to Andersonville. Several times. My dad is a retired Army Lt Colonel. Also a big time Civil War buff. I spent alot of my vacations as a kid checking out alot of the Civil War battlefields and listening to my dad lay out the entire story.

They've been telling me about the Bird's Nest since the bus got ordered in November. Everyone from dealer in CA to the people he's talked to at the plant in Ft Valley have been 'bend over backwards' nice.

This is his second Bird. First one was the trade in for this one. It was a mid-80s 36 footer. Still was alot better than the typical diesel pushers. Like I'd said he'd been looking at used Prevosts because the larger Wanderlodge's just seemed too pricey for my folks. Yeah so baby girl is picking up some of the tab, but their pride and their sensibility wouldn't allow them to go mega-whole hog.

PersianKitty,

Really Nice!

I would ask to be adopted but I love my parents to much for that plus I still don?t know how to keep my bedroom ?clean?!

If you want, you can be God Mother to my Persian cat. At least. I would know he would be well taken care of. He is seven years old, in excellent health, talks a little to much so we taught him how to say a few words so we could understand him, and has beautiful hazel eyes.

I think you know the meaning of life.

Way cool, PK! That's what I eventually want to do - keep my log cabin here, but get an RV and drive around the country My cabin is about 1/2 the size of the house I moved from, and it wouldn't bother me a bit to have even LESS to clean

My Dad's also a big Civil War buff. Unfortunately, growing up I didn't pay much attention to those things Thankfully my son has always been interested in it, so he and "Grampa" get to hang out and bond over it

Tell Mom and Dad to be careful and hopefully in a few years, I'll be out there joining them!
