Hola!

Before doing a purchase finally I would like to see if there are no problems connecting
a 13" Macbook Air 8GB RAM ( 1400x900 resolution ) to an external monitor with 1920x1080 resolution via display port to HDMI connector.

Any one has this set up? Does it keep the external resolution 1920x1080 fine? No lags in Photohsop in particular?

I connect my to Dell U2414H using miniDP cable (provided with monitor). Works really good!

take care if your mac have retina, then the 1920x1080 will be not so cool

I dunno if that is the case, my old core 2 duo pro does the job. Or is that because it has a dedicated video card? Fuck, how then macs mini run PS?

It works perfectly. Consider waiting for reviews about the new macbook pro and buying that instead, though, to get a more future-proof laptop, especially if you will be using it for image manipulation as well. They are almost exactly the same size and weight, but considerable difference in performance/specs.

If you're doing anything serious in PS you need 32 gig of ram. If you're just putting a banner on a pic of tits, then you'd be OK.

I dunno what is it you call serious. Layout design, banners, creatives, brochures, slapbands - so no massive print work. PS files I have lately are 100MBs or so at max.
Major concern is if

MiniDP -> HDMI adapter does the job well to keep 1920x1080 monitor res, does the 8GB and core i5 it has runs shit smooth , consider my work load mentioned above.

It sounds nice. No doubt MBP is a better choice. I'm transitioning to IOS LOL so don't wanna pay a ton, that's why MB13" 8GB RAM basic 128GB SSD.
