No more paypal - who to use now?
Hey all...
This may have been asked before, but I will ask again anyway... We sell DVDs from our site and have been using paypal for payment, however now that paypal isn't accepting anything adult anymore, what's the best alternative where we don't have to pay huge fees? Thanks! |

I've heard good things about Epassporte if you're a US vendor, Netbilling is actually quite reasonable to setup and process with, again if you're a US vendor.. Depends on all of your needs.

Surf a few casino sites and you will see the popular alternatives since paypal shook up a lot on casinos lately (I believe, but I could be 100% wrong).

You certainly cannot go wrong with Netbilling. They process for our membership sites and DVD store and we feel they are the best!

I wonder if any replacement was to gain a popular hold if they'd just end up going the same way. We all know Visa wants to keep the contact points to a minimum if not zero. We've still got far too many small companies not being responsible enough with CS and billing issues too and that's gonna hurt anyone processing too many adult accounts.

I recommend Stormpay.com, but they are expensive.
... To fund by a credit card costs 10% + $1.25. |

Maybe I didn't understand your question.
When you say "merchant level" do you mean to say accepting epassporte through your own merchant account?

If you don't want to dig through the whole thread, here's one specific commentary:
Well, I had one customer use Storm Pay tonight, and I have to say the results are less than thrilling. This guy is not some newbie -- he knows his way around computers, but is so frustrated by StormPay he's ready to just send ten bucks cash Here is his email: "PAm. Storm PAy is even screwier. It jumps from saying you must deposit a minimum of $10.00, to saying deposits are made in $10 increments. I tell it 20, thinking $20, now it has billed $200.00. So tomorrow, when I am in the mood for this, I will be contactying Storm Pay for a withdrawal of at least $180.00." He didn't give up, though, and went back. "I have deposited money into Storm PAy - now the bastards say there is no money on account. This is getting screwier by the mouse click" What's sad about this is he originally paid via PartyKey. I noticed in my stats his $10 was not listed, so I emailed to inquire. After 10 emails they tell me they charged his account back and gave him his money back as they suspected fraud. When I told them he was a personal friend and I doubted he was doing anything fraudulent, they said for him to try again and they'd not our 'friendship' on the account. Ticked me off they didn't email to tell me his transaction was rejected. SO now he's gone through 2 processors without success. |

Chris/Rand...
How about answering my question then?... I wanted to know if epassporte can be used to accept payments for single transactions? Does epoch have this option? Do you still charge the same percentage? Thanks. |

To paraphrase what you told me if one wants to accept Epassporte as an integrated part of their website, they must hold a Visa account with Epoch, otherwise you can do P2P transfers that are not integrated. Correct me if I'm wrong here.

Epoch has this option. You would pay the same percentage if you accept an epassporte payment though your Epoch account. If you were accepting a P2P from someone you pay nothing to receive the funds. If you want to accept epassporte as a payment type (with a commercial account) there are ways to do that at no cost (no tran fee) to the buyer. You pay the fee. To find out more about those fees write to [email protected]. ![]()

Accepting epassporte through your Epoch account for recurring or one time payments, epassporte is processed as any another Visa card except it is more readily accepted from areas of the world that a normal credit card might get scrubbed out. Epassporte personal account holders do not need a contract with Epoch or any other IPSP to move funds to each other. Commercial account holders will soon have a tool available to them which in affect let's you become a merchant able to accept epassporte payments without charging your customer any transaction fee and without the need for an IPSP agreement. That is probably what Kimmy was telling you about. Does that answer your question?
