sounds like you need to pull up a map to refresh your memory of what countries are by the Baltic sea and then google what countries are in NATO?

http://magazynbieganie.pl/wp-content...ic-Sea-map.jpg

yea, NATO ships are "guests" in the Baltic sea... and yea "Baltics is a Russian region of influence"... good shit... haven't laughed so hard in weeks...

Denmark - NATO
Estonia - NATO
Latvia - NATO
Finland - cooperating with NATO, military pact with Sweden
Germany - NATO
Lithuania - NATO
Poland - NATO
Russia
Sweden - military pact with Finland

Leading contributor to NATO: United States

Hmm.

The ship was tracking the plane long before it was in missile range.

And this a "no harm, no foul" situation. You do not buzz military ships. Ever. That's common sense. That's all you need is a drone flying off the ship or a helicopter, and suddenly you have a crash over a military warship.

Once again: a submarine mission is a hidden thing, while it's an open act of aggression. You have came to our waters (some call them the NATO waters because they have no idea on who really rules in Baltic) and you were warned. That's absolutely was normal and I don't see any reason for hysterics about it.

Don't be that silly. A missile range is about 2500 kilo-fucking-meters. It "was tracked" my ass :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

Ok, I'll go down to your level. The missile could be launched from Moscow and it would find it's target there... The jets just shown their hand over your head. Sorry, but that's not your territory and you don't control anything there. So it's very strange to watch such an unusual reaction from the Unlined States. You are not home and you are not welcomed here - get used with that.
And don't tell me about other "NATO countries" of Baltic - they just don't control anything there. When I say "don't", I mean it literally.

Many US naval ships now have high powered lasers installed on them... it's still pretty new technology, performance is still limited, but even with this very early system they can successfully destroy many types of incoming missiles...

give it another decade or 2 for tech to improve and launching missiles will be as useful as launching rocks with a catapult.... :thumbsup

I am not a Navy guy, so I do not know much about anti missile defense when it comes to ships... but I believe most US Navy ships have "automated gatling guns" that can throw a serious amount of lead to fuck up any incoming missiles.

On the other hand, I believe in the 1970s and 1980s the plans were to take out aircraft carrier groups with small tactical nukes... You don't need to hit a ship, just get close to it and make it worthless for the next one thousand years...

You couldn't be more wrong here.

This isn't an act of aggression; It's a ship in international waters - Period. There was no warning issued, again, this is in international waters.

The only hysterics was on the part of the Russians who buzzed a military ship for no reason.

Yes, let's not be silly. Any missile launched in the Baltic sea would instantly be tracked by half a dozen countries. The same with any ship or plane.

give the russians 2 years and they will make mirrors...also the problem with lasers is that they are good at hitting something that is flying str8...but if it flies at say 20x the speed of sound like the russian topol m and does evasive manouvers and leaves decoys etc, its gonna be hella hard to hit it from a long distance...

in 20 years they will probably have fully reflective paint on missiles going like mach 50...

but the lasers are bound to make $$$ for the cronies in the US gov :thumbsup

laws of physics are not looking good for missiles... missiles are physical objects, so there is a limit on how fast you can make them fly, limit on how fast and how many you can produce, store, launch, etc... each one costs a pretty decent chunk of change... their performance will probably improve a bit, but any future gains will likely be modest at best...

lasers on the other hand in theory have unlimited range, unlimited power, speeds many orders of magnitude faster than any missile anyone could even theoretically dream up, unlimited supply of "shots", each one costing virtually nothing.. etc...

so I'll stand by my initial statement, lasers and other "directed energy" weapons are the future...

this is absolutely correct. Once built, there is virtually no cost to firing 1000 lasers. This is the direction of the earths defence.

Regarding where the ship was, Rochard was correct in saying it was stupid for the pilots to fly so close, what if there was a problem with the plane, the US Navy would have been blamed, a stupid move considering there's plenty of Russian subs seen way closer than 40miles to the UK, British air force doesn't fly below the hard deck to buzz them :2 cents:

What kind of aggression was that? A NATO ship has a right to be in the international waters. Yes, it can. A fighter-bomber can a same right to be there. Yes, it can! So what;s the question? The "quests" have approached our coast and we have simulated an attack off them. Nobody was killed, right? When the US ship entered our zone of influence it has given us a signal: "hey guys, we are here and we can attack you". We just answered: "even try to think about that". That's a usual military behavior. I really can't see a single problem with that. You ship was "intercepted" in the same maner like your fighter-jets intercept Russian bomber planes in the international airspace near your borders. Once again: what's a problem?

Every ship has a defends, but there is no defends against cruise missiles. Especially with tactical nuke warheads because they don't need to make a direct hit. No one country has such a kind of defense (States, Russia, China or whatever). All those lasers, S400, Greyhounds etc are absolutely useless against a cruise missile flying with a super sonic speed at 20 meters. It will hit the target in a half of a second when it will just come into a range. I know some people are playing computer games where all-mighty pew-pew lasers can stop any missile, but the real life is not a game. You can't hit a bullet with another bullet.

just a punk 05-18-2016 06:16 PM

Lasers are for computer games. Those are ones of the best real-working defense systems:

But I will not give a ruble for it against a low-profile supersonic cruise missile with 10 Hiroshimas on-board :2 cents:

My dearest idiot Boris. Hurricanes come in states close to the ocean. Florida, S. Carolina. Warm states. They have no need for -40C insulation. No houses will stand 150 Mph winds. Including your legendary Russian mud huts.
The -40C can be seen in places like Duluth, Minnesota or Fargo, N. Dakota. Plenty of real estate there as well as people living in -40 conditions. I can bet my life savings they are doing 10 times better than you, your mother in law and her alcoholic daughter you married.

PS: i did not have any kids with my ex and we were never officially married. She is a bit different from traditional whore/prostitute wife you married. She was born in Sacramento in old believer Orthodox community. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Old_Believers

the planes & helicopter flew less than 100 feet away & were under the hard deck. If anything would have happened to either of the planes, US would have been handed the blame. It was stupid because, they probably hadn't permission to do this, from their own chiefs :2 cents:

You don't seem to know much about the military. They had this technology since the 1960s:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Missil...e_Alarm_System

They know days in advance before North Korea does a "test" and they can follow it every step of the way. LOL - the United States was able to find your lost K-129 submarine underwater in 1974.

Boris is no officer. He's in "reserves". Military obligation is mandatory in Russia, so he got his training in college then went in to training as "low ranking officer".. Traces back to WW2 when cadets or anybody else with college degree was granted "officer" status. He wouldn't know how to reload rile if you paid him a hundie. :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reserv...ning_in_Russia

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milita...e_Soviet_Union

All able-bodied male students of universities and many other institutions of higher education were subject to training at the Military Chairs (voyennnaya kafedra) to become reservist officers.

Soviet military academies provided higher education to higher officers and officers of specialized kinds of armed force (engineering, medical, etc.).

There also existed schools for under-officers and sergeants, often part of the draft service for distinguished soldiers, as a step towards the professional military career.

Reservists were subject to periodic training exercises of duration 2-6 weeks once in several years.

lasers on the other hand in theory have unlimited range, unlimited power, speeds many orders of magnitude faster than any missile anyone could even theoretically dream up, unlimited supply of "shots", each one costing virtually nothing.. etc...

so I'll stand by my initial statement, lasers and other "directed energy" weapons are the future...

how are laser shots virtually no cost?

The -40C can be seen in places like Duluth, Minnesota or Fargo, N. Dakota. Plenty of real estate there as well as people living in -40 conditions. I can bet my life savings they are doing 10 times better than you, your mother in law and her alcoholic daughter you married.

PS: i did not have any kids with my ex and we were never officially married. She is a bit different from traditional whore/prostitute wife you married. She was born in Sacramento in old believer Orthodox community. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Old_Believers
She didn't taste alcohol until she was 26 years old. So why don't you go finish your bottle and eat leftover of dick you ate last night :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

I see the resident drunken russian assclown has invaded the thread, stroking his peen to the photos of Putin

if the shit was real, those russkie jets wouldn't even get a chance to get into position, they'd be tracked and shot down long before coming to firing range
