if bloomberg runs, im jumping off the trump boat

bloombergs daddy was not a millionaire that set up his son. Bloomy's billions are entirely SELF MADE.

He is a much better centrist, populist, has a track record of success running NYC, not just living there. This guy took the subway to work from his billionaire abode. He doesnt waffle around on abortion, is simply pro choice, wont install a nutter onto SCOTUS.

He can counter trumps billions with his own, that takes trumps wealth off the table as a social advantage. thats a big deal.

When the FBI flushes hilary down the toilet, bloomberg will fill the void, provide voters an option to vote for a billionaire without the giant ego & will really fight for the people, not make outrageous statements just for the press.

Go bloomberg go!

yes. trump will beat hilary in 49 out of 50 states. but that was assuming she gets the nomination, which is really starting to look questionable.

im a bloomberg homer, ive lived near NYC all my life, was born in brooklyn, & i have tremendous respect for the job bloomberg did as mayor, coming on the heels of guiliani & 911.

i respect trump as well, but am puzzled by his ongoing trolling long after hes got all the attention. im not seeing his presidential side, so far. Trump will not bode well in a debate with bloomberg, trust me on this.

its a crapshoot that bloomberg will take off. in this election cycle, anything can happen with this mad electorate situation.

I think this is getting dangerous with "billionaires" running for President. One of the best things about the United States is the concept that nearly anyone can be President. I know that in most cases wealth helps (a lot) but some of our presidents came from rather modest means.

Every poll I've seen has Hillary or Bernie beating Trump pretty badly.

yea. 3 of the 6 wealthiest presidents ever are founding fathers. This country was founded by (relatively speaking) billionaires.

& polls? the ones that had hillary up by 30 on sanders only 3 weeks ago? why you care about polls?

From what I've heard on the Sunday morning news shows...the talk is that he will run as an Independent.

Not sure how many Republican votes he could possibly get nationwide...but he might draw a few Democrat votes.

The talk is he might could pull 5 to 8 percent nationally if he ran as an independent. And mostly Democrat voters.

But who knows in this campaign? It's already pretty much too late to get on the ballot in the primaries for the Dem or Republican nomination. So he would have to go 3rd party.

And at 73 years old...I guess we would see if he has the energy and stamina for it.

Everyone is different. Sanders seems to have the energy to run at 73. Trump at 69 has the energy of a 30 year old.
Maybe Bloomberg is one of those kinds of people too?

All I can say about this election is: Who knows?

Is Bloomberg considered an "insider" or an "outsider". People are pretty clearly showing that they do NOT want any Washington insiders. So maybe he qualifies as an outsider as well.

Bloomberg would only run if Hillary doesn't get the nomination and then you can bet your ass he would pick Hillary as his VP.

bloomberg has 1 chance only - to get the democrat nomination via a brokered convention. This is plausible when hilarys delegates become wildcards, and/or she fails to gather a majority of delegates, which is distinctly possible.

no independent can win the general. if a candidate fails to reach 270 electoral votes, the house votes in the next president. so paul ryan will decide.

What would make you think he would pick Hillary as his VP? That would make zeros sense. The reason he would be running is that the controversy surrounding her got so bad it cost her the nomination and the trust of the party. Why would he then put someone toxic like that on his ticket?

Maybe because he would want those democrat votes. Despite her being toxic she still would have pretty big supporters base. Maybe only a little smaller than top democrat candidate. So she would still bring votes in.
That may result in him getting 25% of votes, democrat nominee getting 25% and republican nominee getting 50%. While without Hilary he would not even get those 25%.

Hah, if Bloomberg runs I'd consider jumping off the Sanders boat. I'd first need to see some clear policies and an agenda along with a viable plan to get to the WH.

And kanes right, Hillary's unfavorability rating makes her unelectable and truly an albatross around Bloomberg s neck. She is toxic. Word around the McLaughlin group is the FBI will recommend prosecution over her handling of emails

I guess I am assuming that he will only get in if Hillary is forced out or is doing so badly she has no hope of winning. To me it would be a huge mistake to hitch your wagon to a toxic candidate in search of some votes. Sure, he might get some votes, but there are plenty of people out there who hate the Clintons and would not vote for him simply because of her presence. I think it would do him more harm than good.

He could find a VP that might appeal to moderates of both parties in hopes of pulling in voters from both as opposed to taking on a VP that might help him with the Democrats, but likely will hurt him with Republicans and many independents.

I change my mind about this election all the time and we haven't even had the 1st caucus/primary - I long ago predicted Hilary Clinton isn't going to be the next President, I never gave Trump a real shot until recently, it still seems bizarre to me he could win the nomination.

My current feeling is Marco Rubio will be in the White House a year from now.

6-8 months ago I would have thought it was going to come down to Jeb Bush and Hillary Clinton. I figured Bernie would go away and eventually the novelty of Trump would fade. Hillary's ongoing problems along with Bernie's rising numbers suddenly make it possible for her to not be the nominee and it looks like Trump is in the driver's seat. It is very possible that we can have a Trump/Bernie battle and then maybe Bloomberg jumps in to make it a three way battle. It is almost like it is an election where you just have to embrace the madness and see what happens.

Do you need self made or experienced managers of money?
All the candidates and presidents have been wealthy.

They both are but Bloomberg has a lot more ACTUAL experience and Trump is a bit scary - i've seen a side to him that I never saw before his running. Trump also has too many true believers.

They remind me of gold bugs or bitcoin freaks

my own feeling on hilary is that the FBI is going to recommend indictment on hilary & her lackeys. Loretta lynch will indict the lackeys, but not hilary. so hilary, with her ego & bubble brain, will keep running, fomenting a panic in the democrat circles, with the superdelegates turning into wild cards that build conditions for a brokered convention, where hilary will have the most delegates but not be a viable choice, giving the convention the power to vote for anyone! warren, bloomberg, whoever. wont be bernie.

it would be poetic justice that bloomberg comes out of the chaos & runs a race vs trump. it would be the best election for political junkies in a generation!

Well Bloomberg is said to be worth over $40 Billion

So that'll put a stop to Trump's "Im the richest dude in town" line. Trump is worth less than half of what he claimed, which was around $10 billion if i remember it.

Bloomberg won't make any claims full stop. It's not his personality. Am i right?

There are a lot of people in the political center who dislike both Trump and Clinton, so I see the appeal of an independent candidate.
