Yeah the start should have looked so nice....look soldiers are
surrending....what a victory. However in Bagdad are few 100K
iraqi soldiers who don´t wear uniforms. They will stay in the city
and not come out. They mix in with the civilians and fight a guerilla
warfare.....

When the US has to march into Bagdad that's when the real war
starts......and it will get nasty. The pictures of innocent people
dying and wounded are broadcasted into the homes of millions
arabs in neighbouring countries. This whole fucking war can ignite
a full WW3 and people ask why there are so many against this war?

Oh....b.t.w any news on weapons of mass destruction yet?

I'm not exactly well known as a fan of GW, but if you think military deaths are likely to stop the war, you are very, very wrong. And if they keep up this bullshit of killing and humiliating prisoners, it'll will steel a lot of the resolve on the part of a lot of people.

It will not be protracted and casualties are to be expected, and it could go into the thousands before all is said and done, but I seriously doubt it and the US is used to casualties as we have engaged our military more than any country in modern history.

The game plan from the beginning was as follows.

Take control of the ports and Southern/Northern oil fields.

To by pass small cities and small groups of Iraqi forces and drive to Baghdad from three directions.

The plan is ahead of schedule and we will have control of the country in a few more days.

It has been announced on CNN and FOX news multiple times, what they have not announced is what was being manufactured there and it will take scientists to study this, not soldiers.

Its sounds as if it was a cleaned up chemical plant.

You do know that even in shitty little towns they already get
fearce fights with VERY small groups of iraqis. They allied forces
are afraid to go into the towns......as they know it will get dirty.
Therefore they move to Bagdad.....but once they do....you really
think the Iraqis will come out of town? I think not. The US would

Control and secure are not synonymous. We will have control of the country in a matter of days, just as we have control over the port cities, but this does not mean that they are secure. The country of Iraq will probably not be secure for years to come, if ever. There are multiple reasons for controling the oil fields and Fletch pointed out one of them.
