The small towns are no biggy Sadam knows that aswell. Northen
Iraq isn´t even controlled by Sadam but by the Kurds. So very
little resistance there.....

As it seems the term "Under control" isn´t really clear either
cities are being reported under control and 2 days later they´re
still fighting in the same cities. And these are small unimportant
cities and the US is NOT moving in the cities.....they´re only
passing them and taking control of the Oil wells.....I´m sure they
do that only to spare them for the iraqi people

Control and secure are not synonymous. We will have control of the country in a matter of days, just as we have control over the port cities, but this does not mean that they are secure. The country of Iraq will probably not be secure for years to come, if ever. There are multiple reasons for controling the oil fields and Fletch pointed out one of them.
