I do not think that he will be executed, but he will probably face the death penalty. There was over 900 recorded "fraggings" during the Vietnam conflict, actually 960 comes to mind, and I do not recall reading that anyone was executed, but they may have been.

and i believe it will be by firing squad, no way this guy is going to get a nice drug cocktail injected into him.

put the execution by firing squad on Pay per View.

As far as I know the militarys primary method of execution is still by hanging. Anyone have an update on this.

interesting point Naughty, but I don't think that'll happen. The military doesn't put you in a psych ward. They either go to Leavenworth and make big rocks into little rocks, (possible)... dishonorably discharge you and wash their hands of you, (not possible)... or kill you. (most likely)

This is a "police action" a "peacekeeping enforcement" or a "strike" - it is NOT a war.

Why? Because then congress gets oversight. And they have to declare it. That little bit of the constitution was used as toilet paper during Vietnam. The last country the US went to war with they are STILL at war with - North Korea. There has been no wars since then.

So not knowing military code, I am uncertain whether they will be allowed to use "wartime" punishments - since they are not technically at war.

I will repeat that there were over 900 recorded "fraggings" during the Vietnam conflict and there were deaths but I cannot recall anyone being executed, but there may have been. Private Slovic was the only one executed for deseration during the 2nd World War and there has been none since. His case was rather sad and he was just used as an example.

The congress did not declare war against North Korea, but did grant the President the power to use our military, just as they did in Vietnam, and just as they did for the current conflict.
