:mad myles who used to work cologroup is bugging me

remember myles who used to work at cologroup? he sent me a couple of annoying messages a couple of hours ago ... he was saying i libeled him with this post of mine

http://www.gofuckyourself.com/showth...hreadid=106200

now people, read that thread and tell me ... did i ever mention his name? any idiot would know that i was talking about my memory upgrade here in my computer at home ...

now myles was talking about chasis that he laser cut or something like it ... he's out of his mind ... he said something about logs which i can remember as i asked him before when he was still with cologroup ... then he's telling me that he's 1/2 owner of cologroup ... then i asked him why did he run away with jason's servers - he told me "Ah how can I own my servers and steal them? I moved them to L.A. on plan"

I own 1/2 of the company. Why do you pretend to know what you know nothing about.

How do you deduce they are Jason's servers? That I built every single unit? That I ordered every single unit? That I designed every aspect of the servers from the ground up? That I installed evey server and drove 2 hours anytime there was an issue? That I built the OS for every single unit? That the Cogent contracts were in my name? That our colocation in San Francisco was in my name? That I worked endlessly since 1998 to build this company? That Jason refused to buy any machines for expanding the virtual hosting thus overloading machines? That the problems after my departure are my fault? That I did custom software projects to finance the company through the thin periods? That I supported the company while Jason scurried off to finance other ventures in his own name?

You simply talk to the sales guy and swallow whatever he gives you. So be it, but if you spread his lies you are guilty of the same.

If you are not happy with a service just get a refund and go where you are happy.

I removed my dedicate box from Cologroup because Myles was incapable (after an entire month of trying!) of installing Redhat. In his defense he said that nobody can install Redhat without major hassles (LOL!) and subjected me to an abusive and evangelical tirade about how anyone who uses Linux is a moron.

Myles is is the most incompetant technical person I have dealt with during my five years working online! He's also unreliable, dishonest and possibly insane. His gross incompetence wasted a large amount of my time and money and did a great deal of damage to my business

I strongly recommend that nobody do business with Myles or any company that he is associated with!

How's that for slander Myles?

BTW, Jason told me in August 2002 that he was intending to sack Myles for his ongoing incompetence and bad attitude. So it seems kind've weird that Myles is now claiming to be the owner of Cologroup!

Here's some more slander for ya Myles

Hello Adam and Gavin. My deepest apologies for Myles behavior and the problems that you have been through in selecting Cologroup as a provider. Myles behavior was unaccecptable and I can not even begin to explain the consequences of his actions to you. I return to the office on the 2nd of April and I will promptly credit your account for you. Please do not exhange anymore dialogue with Myles as it is a complete waste of time. He clearly needs to find a new line of work as his attitude and unwillingness to learn is is the worst I have seen in my life. I personally wish I had removed him from his duties prior to this event as I know it has caused your problems.

As I said, I will promplty refund your monies and I will personally deal with Myles. I hope this does not reflect Cologroup as a company as the problems are clearly defined by one employee who will no longer be with our company when I return to the office. If you are never willing to give us another chance, I understand.

I will contact you when Myles has been removed, and the new replacements are hired which should be less than 2 weeks. If you stick with your current host for now, and you would be willing to let me redeem our company and make up for your troubles, I would give you the server for 2 months at no fee to you. I hope you understand my sincerity as this experience is very much an embarassment to me and my company.

Kindest Regards,
Jason Trindade

Does anyone care? I was at Cologroup for two weeks and it was the most FUBAR web host I've ever seen....

Cologroup and Likewhoa are probably tied for the biggest number of posts about downtime and other problems.

Implying that I would stand over a Redhat box for a month is hilarious. If you have problems with the timeline it's because an exerienced RedHat admin who does it for a living had difficulties with your installation.

Most of your statements are fabrications and that's not what I said. That's what you implied. Linux is a very popular kernel project which has enjoyed tremendous success. The patches employed by Redhat corporation are often nonstandard and require an experienced admin to secondguess the bugs. It was a bad combination for the machine because the drivers available for the RAID were very old and buggy, and Redhat did not automatically recognize the RAID.

I gave Redhat setups to an experienced admin and after some days he was able to get most of the requested configurations installed. Moreover we host several Redhat machines operated by experienced admins who have almost no issues in months or years.

Your diatribe about linux is your own creation. I had perhaps one conversation with you on the phone and since that time you have been misquoting me rabidly.

To the point: I don't make RedHat machines I have others make them.

I think it is useful to publicise this fact so that other people do not use them and get screwed too.

How were you screwed? Did I take your money? Or I just didn't engage you endlessly in your "RedHat is the best system for all purposes" ramble?

Again, we install systems and we have to go find drivers and talks with vendors. Philosohpical arguments about mountains of operating system code are not our task.

The fact that after an entire month you (or whoever you were supposedly supervising) were unable to complete a basic Redhat installation speaks volumes about your incompetence. Your pathetic efforts to revise history merely reinforce my assertion that you're a liar! And as for your confusion regarding whether you own half or all of Cologroup...

If you are speaking the truth you have my sincere condolences I lost my own father only two months before this date.

But what does your father's death got to do with this conversation? Are you trying to offer an excuse for bad behavior of some kind? I thought my accusations above were supposed to be fabrications?

I was not in a great way and perhaps I talked to you in some way that set off alarms in your head. These tangents had no relations to how we build servers as personally have only build a few RedHat machines and then only for customers with CS degree knowledge who could tweak their machine perfectly. It's much better to deligate the setup to an admin who has overseen hundreds of installations and moreover operates them day-to-day.

Probably my phone skills were at an all time low and it boomeranged. Ideally someone would have taken over the tech duties for a month or so but the admins we had interviewed to date didn't meet the spec in one capacity or another. Moreover Jason put our servers in his name after exploding my Cogent contracts in San Francisco and as you can see I had do deal with his machinations alongside alone moreover while he pursued dreams of a Portugese IPO which again my work subsidized.

I'm sorry about your father and the collusion of several unfavorable circumstances. Maybe you are right in that I didn't have the 110% to give you in that time. For that I apologize but I tried my best to make everything work with what I had on the table.

He claimed in this thread to own half of Cologroup:

http://www.cologroup.com

He also claimed in this thread to own ALL of Cologroup

When I had dealings with them back in Jul/Aug 2002, Jason Trindade claimed to be the CEO of Cologroup and he characterized Myles as an incompetent employee who he was planning to sack (see quote from Jason above).

I have no idea what the truth is regarding the ownership of Cologroup. All I know is that after an entire month they could not successfully do a basic Redhat install and that they seem to have a very bad reputation among MANY of their current and former customers. Clearly they are an EXTREMELY dysfunctional company!

Jason and I started a company in 1998. I then started another company after it was clear I could not do business with Jason. Jason has no relation to Cologroup. Not too hard to understand.

To think that I would be an employee for Jason is ridiculious. I had plenty of job offers I brushed aside during the dotcom boom and I even tried to bring Jason into one.

I NEVER WORKED FOR JASON

I have some rather good comments from customers pushing over a gigabit. If your RedHat box installation made by an admin who has done 100+ machines isn't to your liking I am sorry we did our best. Some machines and configurations simply don't work well together and we only have so many days to make it work well as a quality server. Other systems come together quickly. If the hardware support isn't there then he must go find it, write it himself or move on.

What the fuck are you talking about? You were unable to supply a box + Redhat which did not crash. I gave you an entire month to rectify the problem and still you were unable to do so. Of course the installation was not to my liking you dipshit!

I'm pleased to hear that you did your best though

Then how was it that Jason was the one who arranged my Cologroup contract and that he was my primary contact at Cologroup? And why did Jason say that he was the CEO?

And why did Jason say:

Please do not exhange anymore dialogue with Myles as it is a complete waste of time. He clearly needs to find a new line of work as his attitude and unwillingness to learn is is the worst I have seen in my life. I personally wish I had removed him from his duties prior to this event as I know it has caused your problems.

As I said, I will promplty refund your monies and I will personally deal with Myles. I hope this does not reflect Cologroup as a company as the problems are clearly defined by one employee who will no longer be with our company when I return to the office. If you are never willing to give us another chance, I understand.

Again you are not reading very carefully. I did not do the RedHat installations. An admin who has 100+ successful stable servers and moreover makes stable linux server clusters did the install. I am not even in the loop. Another person sold you a server and another person did it. I talked to you one day on the phone then passed the info to the admin. If you had a specific problem I would have asked the admin to talk with you and make it right. Other people handled your account and I was out of the loop.

Myles, just shut the fuck up. I was hoping this thread would die...for your sake......but you seem to enjoy making an ass out of yourself. You should just shut up, as I am not even going to get involved in this thread. It is ridiculous.

Myles you've got to stop lying it's not an attractive characteristic. You were well and truly in the loop and you know it! I contacted you many times by e-mail, phone and ICQ. I have records of the e-mails and ICQs Would you like me to post them here? I even have an e-mail from you accusing me (falsely) of phoning you 12 times in 24-hours to harass you!

But we only spoke once, right?
