i think there is enough room within the Constitution for this country to implement a gun buy-back program and to create BETTER laws to stop these events. and to keep guns away from minors. was reading a while back that new research show stricter gun laws keep guns away from kids and that would certainly go a long way towards reducing gun suicides and prolly some of the school shootings.

even so, new and better legislation isn't a panacea, there are certainly many other factors. medication, copycat killings due to media glorifying these events. i'd also bet most all thee guys hadn't been laid in quite a while, if ever.

Fact is these types of incidents have been happening for a long time, occuring in many countries, not just the USA. One happened right near me back in the late 70's in fact, involving the older brother of a girl I went to school with. Not a 'mass' shooting mind you, but a school shooting (and killing) none the less. I doubt you heard about it either.

There are countries on that list that probably a lot of people wouldn't expect to see there. Sweden, for one.

The U.S. has a larger population than most. More people, generally speaking, almost always = more psychotic assholes prone to planning and executing this kind of crap. While that's true it's also true that as history shows it has and can happen anywhere.
