hey,

I'm looking to add 5 manual tube uploaders to my team.

If you're interested in this job then please read this entire thread as anyone who asks me something that is answered in this thread will automatically be disqualified.

Here's The Job Description:

Your job will be to upload 1000 videos to a tube site ill give you every week.

Once the videos are uploaded you will add tags,keywords and pick the best thumbnail for each video.

The average size of the videos will be 300 mb so you NEED to have EXTREMELLY FAST internet speed to be able to do this job.

Please do NOT waste your time contacting me for this job if your internet speed is not SUPER FAST.

This is is a full time job that is well paid.

Here Are The Requirements For This Job:

- You must have an EXTREMELLY FAST internet connection.

- You must know how to properly add tags,keywords,descriptions,thumbnails..etc to videos.

One thought. You might put what you consider the minimum upload speed that a person would need for this. Some people might consider their connection to be fast, only to have it nowhere close to what is really needed.

So if you are going to work 5 days/week, 8 hour/day - it makes 200 videos per day, about 25 videos per hour. More like 30-40, as you will have to add tags, descs thumbs etc. You will have to have at least 10 Gbit/hour upload bandwith, or 160Mbit/second. Less if you are going to work more than 8 hour/day.

Why aren't you just going to Upwork or Fivrrr and getting workers there? Sure their upload speed is super slow but they are cheap so hire a ton of them.

If you are expecting that kind of workload and superfast connections then you will have to pay a Western worker 4-6x what you would spend overseas. For example, I could do the job but I would charge you $500 a week+. LOL And no, I do not want this job. :D

well this might be true , but remember don't believe only numbers and statistics
tons of people in those countries have lower speed really . probably the lucky one surfing internet with 500kb speed

i guess not higher.

in most cases the upload process will stop and u have to do that again .

my guess is that someone should actually think about what they are doing and set up 5 fast, Windows VPS box's so you aren't narrowing your field of candidates from 10's of 1000's down to 3 and you know with 100% certainty they have a lightening fast connection and you can monitor everything they are doing..

but that's just me, i'm reasonable, practical and logical like that...

depends on why he wants a fast connection... I assume its because the uploads to the tube sites time out or fail. faster connection = greater success. regardless, he could transfer videos in bulk to VPS's... even sending hard drives to the host with terabytes of videos on them and the worker bees could deal with submitting them from a lightening fast connection.

every problem has a solution when you are looking to actually solve the problem.

Yeah, i meant that a serious person, who is serious about business and hiring well is not going to create unnecessary requirements, but rather solve those problems himself and control the process, so that everything runs smoothly and rely less on others and their claims to "having a fast connection" simply because they are desperate for money that week. Why not just know you have everything running from lightening fast connections?

Hi ESAW,

You said you need people to transfer 1000 videos of 300 Megabytes each, download then upload, per week. This is 600,000 Megabytes (about 585 Gigabytes).

I have really high speed in my home

With no bandwidth limit (Woohoo!) but many do not. What might happen is that the people who start working for you might be faced with huge bills after a short while, and then not be able to continue.

Here's an idea for you: Instead of having your people using FTP to download and re upload the content (which is a boring job anyway) why not use FXP and copy files directly from the original server to your tube servers? This will be a lot faster and save lots of money in the process.

Next, Since there are so many videos, write a script to have it auto generate a random thumbnail of the video instead of having someone dig through the video to find one. Even better, have it auto generate a NEW thumb when your users mouse-over them, then save that thumb when the user clicks on it. Why? The thumb that ultimately causes him to click will be the best thumb of course, which by itself will generate more clicks. The thumbs get better and better the more users use your service.

As for reviews, tags, keywords etc, have you thought about getting your users to do this for you? "Here's some brand new videos! What do you think? Click the words that best describe them and you could win a free blah blah blah!"

The importance/power of a good hand-cut thumb should not be underestimated.

BTW We have no bandwidth/transfer limitation At All.

ColMike7: primary connection costs ~ 23 USD, the secondary costs ~ 14 USD, the upgrade will cost me 4 USD extra per month. Fixed IP adds an extra 3-6 bucks per month to this.

This is 600,000 Megabytes (about 585 Gigabytes). I have really high speed in my home With no bandwidth limit (Woohoo!) but many do not. What might happen is that the people who start working for you might be faced with huge bills after a short while, and then not be able to continue. Here's an idea for you: Instead of having your people using FTP to download and re upload the content (which is a boring job anyway) why not use FXP and copy files directly from the original server to your tube servers? This will be a lot faster and save lots of money in the process. Next, Since there are so many videos, write a script to have it auto generate a random thumbnail of the video instead of having someone dig through the video to find one. Even better, have it auto generate a NEW thumb when your users mouse-over them, then save that thumb when the user clicks on it. Why? The thumb that ultimately causes him to click will be the best thumb of course, which by itself will generate more clicks. The thumbs get better and better the more users use your service. As for reviews, tags, keywords etc, have you thought about getting your users to do this for you? "Here's some brand new videos! What do you think?
