for real though, I am blown away by this fuckery. all the evidence points to this being a huge scam but I still can't wrap my head around the idea that someone could actually do what it appears that he's done. How someone could fake a disease that has touched so many people, could post a fundraiser on a site filled with people who need real assistance in coping with real problems.

The anonymity provided by the internet promotes all kinds of criminal behavior from stealing, bullying, extortion, fraud, etc. Crimes that the perpetrator would never attempt face to face.

Earlier this evening I re-read all 12 pages of the thread...re-convinced myself reporting it was the right course of action - and submitted a report to Sudburycrimestoppers.com detailing events in this thread and provided all pertinent information for their consideration.

The tip submission was verified with a confirmation code and password for follow-ups and/or further contact.

The matter is now in the hands of Sudbury authorities.

Having a wife with a severely disabling condition (rhumatoid arthritis) taking methotrexate (chemo) infusions, weekly cortisone injections in all her joints and a litany of other meds - makes me very sensitive to this sort of fraudulent crap and motivates me to be pro-active.

If at any time it qualifies for any sort of monetary reward - I will donate all funds to either the Canadian Cancer Society or Arthritis Society and publically post the receipt to GFY.

Sorry for a stupid question but isn't cancer treatment free in Canada? Asking this because mom of my friend was diagnosed with stage 4th cancer two years ago. She's got a surgery and now receives her treatment (chemotherapy etc) absolutely for free. I just can't see how money could help in such a situation.

I have a friend in treatment right now in Ontario.
Not 100% of everything is covered. His cost of prescription have run up to about $4k.

He thinks he will have spent about $6-7k in total by the time he is done. More if he needs surgery.

There are programs to help reduce these cost for people that don't have prescription plans to cover the cost of meds. The meds are thought to not be part of the treatment unless you are an in patent care. Thanks to the current programs his true cost out of pocket are about $400.

If you can't afford the meds/treatment, they will cover 100% of everything :2 cents:

YOU call Sudbury police and file a report directly to them. They'll ask your identity. When they investigate and subpoena you to appear in court to testify, YOU spend the money to get to and from Sudbury, lose wages for the duration, pay for a motel and meals.

Yngwie started a similar thread over on that other board before he tried his luck at GFY. It started out good but as his story unfolded people starting questioning if it was legit.. and from there the wheels fell off. By the end of the thread he basically told everyone to fuck off and he wasn't going to show anyone proof of anything and that he was leaving that board too.

One thing I thought was strange was that he mentioned his "girlfriend" was watching this thread closely. Hmmm.. if I was terminally ill with cancer the last fucking place I would be is reading this board.
