Curious what the deal is...... I hear lots of stuff from different people, Just trying to get it straight, Do we have to be incorporated in The US and pay the 750 fees to use Ibill/ccbill and the others?

Yes you need to pay the fee, and have a business setup there (with business address).

ACPAY does not require the fee and the incorporation

I'm in the process of trying to figure this out myself. I contacted ACPay earlier today, unfortunately they don't meet my requirements.

Anyone know if Visa-USA will accept my application to process Visa if I incorporate in the USA without a US citizen as the primary shareholder? Input would be great, thanks.

WTF, i thought as Canadians, we were exempt from the $750 Visa fee and didn't have to incorporate in the US? This was the what iBill told me a few months back or am I totally mistaken?

You're exempt, as long as you don't want to offer Visa.

thats what I was unsure about as well, someone was swearing that as a canadian they didnt have to pay them

Well, PSW Billing Solutions which other than them being a piece of shit customer service wise, are great. And Paypal, however PSW turned off my Visa, fine, Paypal is now turning off our everything, not so cool.

So hopefully I can get a US presence and pay some processors that $750 and get myself some Visa back. heh.

Visa-USA won't even look at an application from a Canadian, so of course you don't have to pay them. However if you want to process using Visa-USA, you have to have a US presence and pay the fees. I'm just not sure what exactly defines "US presence" to Visa. Some people have told me that I can simply incorporate and have an address (As PaulSweet said above) and others have told me that the primary shareholder has to be a US citizen with an SSN. If you want to use the Ibill, Epoch, CCbill etc..., you need, as a canadian, to incorporate in the US, get a tax ID, and PAY the 750.00 fee . At this point, you don't need a US citizen, but that could change ( get a slut model as repondant for you.... or a trailer park one...).

Otherwise, you can use globill ( for how long???) or Epay or others ( Verotel - Dutchbilling).

If you go the incorporation way, I recommend these guys. Super service and no fuckup!

I use them now:

pros: honest , reliable, answers emails, etc

cons: they went ahead to beat the Visa thing, by establishing a UK account . If Visa continues to enforce the rule of " you bill only in your own region", webmasters in Canada will be fucked.

Look at the Paypal thing today. This whole credit card thing consumes too much time, way more than it should.

I sell also hard goods, went in 4 years with Internet Secure, then Scotia Bank, then Verza, then CCnow, then Paysystems... All of them have pulled the rug from under my feet ....

So get ready, do a US presence. I have one , using it for rebills only with Ibill ( looks like I am getting my first check sionce dec.15th!!! ), but I can always in a day setup with them for memberships and hardgoods.

Keep your options open...

and I would love to give it my first consideration. I just am not sure if their solution is meant for an affiliate program and re-billing more then for me as a one-time transaction merchant based in Canada. Any info. on this would be appreciated.
