He mentioned in one of his "my dog sneezed today" threads that he didn't speak to his "kids". Later that was brought up, probably by me and he retreated and have some explanation that they weren't his kids.

This is quite literally one of the most miserable people alive. No friends, no family. No one that cares if he is alive or not. He gets through te day as most bitter and dysfunctional people do by deluding himself into thinking he's rejected everyone else, they are not rejecting him and that his solitude is a choice, not the corner his behavior and attitude have painted him into. You are correct on all counts...and we have the best of relationships. In fact I intend to spend Thanks Giving dinner with most of them...and their wives and kids. I don't think the oldest daughter of PF's is going to be able to make it...because of work.

Pf would not allow me to call him Dad to his face because he wanted me to remember my real Dad who was his best friend...but I grew to think of him as Dad. They became friends during the Korean conflict and were two of just a handful of survivors of a battle...that was fought...which created an unbreakable bond between them.

The VA currently tells me just...as the surgeons did in '91 that...there is no procedure to correct the problems with my back. I have been trained by the VA to live with chronic pain. I in fact have gone through the training more than once over the years. I have a standing order for Vicodin and Morphine patches to relieve the pain when I cannot tolerate it any longer.
