What is it about divorces that takes so much time? I'm a bit naive about that kind of stuff.

Well I got married this year! But I do hear it's harder to get divorced than to tie the knot! I guess that's why lawyers make more money than priests!

Because usually by the time divorce rolls around, the two hate each other so much that they decide it's important to fight over every single solitary little thing. This includes car payments, dog visitation, throw pillows, glasses, a spoon, etc. Divorces can be over in a matter of days if the two people agree that it's over, and who leaves with what and who gets paid what. Long divorces become a battle of the wills and who can hurt the other one the most. Unfortunately, if kids are involved, that's who gets hurt the most

I'm at the age were I've been through it as have tons of my friends and rarely does anyone act like an adult.

Yeah you can split up in a few days if all you own is spoons and furniture. But if you have any assets it takes time.

ME BRO....My divorce was final on dec 2nd. I'm a happy man with a beautiful girlfriend but it's not the same with my kids. Life makes turns everyday. You just have to hold the wheel straight and keep on cruising. Life is too short to dwell or feel like crap..

That is indeed the hardest part...the kids. I have no answer to that one. Just have to try and be there 110% for them 24 X 7.

Last month I finished paying off my ex for our divorce settlement. The actual divorce was over 3 years ago..it only took 6 months from separation to divorce, but that was primarily because he was so desperate for money.

There has to be something said for how much time it takes to get married versus undoing the whole thing. I do agree.

But I mean damn...when its over...its over! Let well enough be I say.

Took me 15 months+ to get the fucking paperwork done. Now it only costs me $1200 a month

Divorce sucks, being married to a money-hungry bitch sucks worse.

I got a idea lets get married, fun honeymoon in the islands somewhere, play toughout the summer and divorce in the fall. Then you'll have a good understanding.

ohyea, dont worry we'll have a prenup setup, your stuff is safe
