It's hot enough in the North for me, thanks. Even here they try to make buddies with me so i would stick to their pizza parlor only - connections is the key, i know what you mean. But hey, dont we all work via internet?

Pasta for sure too, right on.

Question, each time i order dorado they bring me the whole fish ready, any chance of getting a filette without all the bones and skeleton? )))

Konrad returned to Poland from a better country, I moved to Poland from Ukraine, so, we have
different visuals on what is hard to do in Poland. My vision is not that bad, but I agree it's
somewhat fucked up at times too. I would complain as a non EU citizen of course, but that's
a whole another story.

Big change for me, everything was different. I lived and worked for a while, and didn't really enter the "system" here until a year or two after I came.

Poland is a great place to come and visit, but once you actually enter into the system buying a car, buying real estate, starting a company, etc etc you see it's actually a nightmare. The government is still more or less communist, seems like almost everyone is trying to fuck you in some way, evertyhing is setup to make private business as hard as humanly fucking possible. Payroll taxes and fees are almost a second salary of the employee. You are taxed on taxes (you buy a house, you pay 2% tax based on money you BORROWED from a bank to begin with and you of course cannot deduct this from income), the tax authority is housed by old communist ladies that will try to twist your words around in any way to fuck you ("this can't possible be a home office, there's a barbeque on the patio!"), I have to pay some $300/mo towards a mandatory retirement fund (adjusted for inflation going forward every year) until I retire at age 67 (unless they further raise the retirement age), at which point i'll get around $120 per month for the additional MAYBE 10 years i'll live), etc. It's all corrupt as fuck, and i'm really hoping this Korwin-Mikke (extremely right-wing politian that's gaining alot of ground lately) guy wins the next election - although it's a long shot...

Moving here did over the course of the last years let me build my company from 1 person at home to 9 people in an office, but I moved here everything here has just gotten worse and more expensive but i'm too settled in to move anywhere else for the time being + my fiance is a doctor and she can't work in other countries without passing some language exams.
Good post.

Best choice, as usual, you earn it all first then pay cash.

It's all being misappropriated anyways. Did you know it costs less to build 1km of autobahn in germany then it does in poland? How the fuck is that possible when our labour is 1/3rd the cost?

Yes, it includes healthcare with hospitals so dirty im scared to lean against the wall, and unemployment that would not cover groceries for myself for 3 days. It's about 3/5th social/retirement fund, and the rest is medical and unemployment.

Sweden you pay a fuckload of tax, but you actually get something for it... Also you need compare salary to costs, not just costs to costs. $300 for retirement fund is alot more for a small business here then it is there. I do well and i don't feel that $300, but i still feel like every damned month i'm lighting that money on fire. Hell of a deal - 40 years of $300 and then I get back $120 for 10 years. $300 is not much compared to other countries but fuck - you don't get anything for it. If i lit it on fire in the middle of my livign room it would at least generate heat.

I think the main difference between canada and poland, is in canada there is implied trust and in poland there is implied distrust.

You approach everyone and everyone approaches you in Canada with the assumption that you are not trying to fuck them in some way. Even the government assumes like this. In Poland, everyone assumes you are out to fuck them.

You can't imagine the level of that distrust in Ukraine and other ex Soviet countries.

Spain you pay about 260euros, but healthcare is great, includes some dental aswell. pension is about 420 a month, unemployment, now you do atleast get some cover, never used to.

UK system is a %, with a cap.. works much better.

I honestly have no problem paying for something as long as i'm getting something. It's simply bad business to pay $300 for 40 years and then get $120 for 10 years (if that) no matter how you spin it... I would be invariably better off just keeping the money in my own retirement savings.

Is'nt there voluntary contribution, where you can increase payment to retirement fund to get more?
