Verotel Adds Bitcoin Payment Option

Just thought I would give people a heads up. Some may find it a nice new addition.

http://blog.verotel.com/bitcoin-avai...rship-options/

Here is a link with my ref code Verotel.

I heard no others announcing bitcoin support. I asked Epoch and they replied they don't plan to support bitcoin. Of course any adult site can add support of bitcoin via one of Coinbase, BitPay, GoCoin, but it would be easier if your existing processor/biller will add bitcoin.

Verotel shoud be credited as a pioneer for btc adult. The refund thing it is the tricky way:

----------
In the event that a member requests a Bitcoin refund, the original amount of the transaction in the local currency is refunded and not the number of Bitcoins paid. Any required currency conversion during the Bitcoin refund process will be calculated at a spot rate determined by Verotel.
----------

Honestly, I never got an user email of user asking to pay with bitcoin, they always ask to pay with other like paypal or cash in envelope sent via pigeon, not bitcoin. Hardware and video game shops (as well as gambling and weed sites) are more lucky than adult at the moment with bitcoin sales.

Why would Chaturbate add Bitcoin then?

The same reason everyone else did, for the free press.

Don't fool yourself, no one in porn is banking from Bitcoin. Yes, sales do come in, but they trickle. It's OK if you hold them and cash them out at the correct time so you can get a lot of value on a member, but otherwise, Bitcoin didn't pan out for porn the way everyone was hoping it would. If you can take them, take them, but don't expect it to be a game changer.

I think that anybody who processes bitcoin via verotel needs their head examined.

Your mileage may vary, but, in my experience, Verotel do not pay.

Why anyone would pay a biller 10+% to process Bitcoin is beyond me.

Since I have been with them, I have consistently been paid early. Can you provide more detail on what happened in your situation?

It's actually a 1% processing fee.

Well 1% fee for bitcoin processing doesn't sound so bad, but what about these "refunds"?

Part of the attraction of bitcoin for a merchant is that it is money that can't be reversed or charged back (just stolen, hijacked or lost )

With no bank involved, who exactly will rule on whether a refund should be issued?

A Bitcoin refund would only happen if the site is offline or if the user is denied access once they have paid. Site access would be verified before we authorize a refund and we would work together with the webmaster to ensure that this is handled appropriately.

You need to manually add a new membership option for Bitcoin. Their blog states you have the following restrictions though.

◾Only One-Time membership options are supported at this time

◾The Bitcoin order page only allows generated credentials ? user selected and credentials as parameters are not supported at the moment

◾The Bitcoin order page does not support Billing/Shipping address ? you cannot create Bitcoin membership option if those addresses are enabled

Yeah you have to be crazy to use a ready to go solution and pay them 1%. Absolutely insane. People need to get their head checked.

Cases like this would be handled as they come in and would be determined by several factors. One being the reliability of the webmaster. Do we constantly get complaints similar to this? Ideally in a perfect world, all webmasters deliver great content and exactly as described on the website prior to a membership taking place. I have seen some sites that advertise X and inside the members area you get Y. Even with cam sites.

It's not a feeling; it's a fact. In my experience, Verotel does not pay.

I have emailed Verotel many many many times. I perhaps have a feeling about how unpleasant Verotel has been to interact with via email, but I did not mention that in this thread. I simply shared my experience that, for me, Verotel does not pay.

I have to say that while my experience with Verotel hasn't been perfect, I've never had to chase them up for a payment. I was with them for 8-10 years.

They pay , that is not problem. Problem is that most of sites dropped them as processor once they introduced high yearly fees. Basically,in my niche, only few sites left.

That's been our recent experience. We stopped processing with Verotel a few weeks ago - after working with them 5-6 years.

I must say, their payments were always on time and reliable. No issues there.

A few years back they pissed me off with some chargebacks (all from Germany at the time)...they never discovered for a while...then threw them at us all-at-once. Up till that point we'd barely had a single chargeback in years. They admitted to basically 'dropping the football' - and apologized to us. But we were still on the hook to pay back.

We have seen a steady increase since the launch of Bitcoin. If the current numbers continue, I would expect total sales to surpass ACH and Direct Debit.
