Won't post any pics related to the article i just read but this once again proves how ridiculous the way everything is done to suit idiotic religions is these days.

It's not ridiculous. Why does an animal need to be stunned prior to death?

Muslims prefer to slit the throat of the beast, some would say a more humane and religiously satisfying way.

Kosher and halal slaughters are the same except that for halal they thank god before killing the animal.

I'm not too familiar with the specifics of this, but I read once that jews believe it is the most humane method of killing the animal. I think at the regular processing plants they stun the animal, hang it from the ceiling by its hind legs and then slit the throat while it's still alive so that the heart pumps the blood out. I don't think Kosher and halal hang the animal up, but it's obviously feeling getting its throat slashed. I guess it comes down to just how stunned those animals are in the regular process if we want to determine which one is more humane.

I've seen a few dozen sheep slaughters in North Africa. Most humane method I have seen, Muslim or Jewish, compared to the heinous methods going on in a normal slaughterhouse. never been to a slaughterhouse thank god. Just watched some docs.

My mother was an accountant for a waste disposal company back in the 70's. The one stop they dreaded to service was the slaughterhouse. Owner said he could not say what was worse, the smell or the sounds. Probably the smell.

because you simply go unconcious. You feel nor realize anything. Even in an animal, we both experience stress. I mean why WOULD you bleed something alive?

Anyone getting all uppity about this is either just looking for an excuse to talk shit about muslims and/or jews, or is in complete denial about the horrid cruel gruesome stuff that goes down in your "regular" factory slaughterhouses daily.

Here in Aus they use a bolt gun to the back of the skull. It is air powered and has a retractable "bolt" which shoots out a couple of inches and immediately pulls back again. The animal is dead instantly. Fastest and most humane way.

One is a lot quicker. Bleed out an animal sometime. Or just watch on youtube. You would want to have your head smashed in.

Obviously, you have never seen an animal that twitched as it dies after being electrocuted and the has its skull smashed with a hammer ...

Cut an animal's carotid (jugular) arteries in its neck it will fall asleep into unconsciousness as it bleeds out.

Either way, a slaughter house is a nasty business -- how would you prefer to die?

Actually, I think that might be common practice here now too.

Really, there is no ''humane'' way to kill ... It's all rationalized execution for gain -- we eat them.

Kosher and Halal slaughter methods are not any more inhumane than assembly line slaughter. Killing is killing -- there is no ''just war'' against food animals. We just kill them for our benefit.

The "Halal" slaugther methods here in Denmark today, consists of a certified muslim watching the regular slaughter-procedure.

It still pisses people of when they read "halal" food, but like in most cases, people dont know what the hell they are talking about - they just repeat the headlines they read in the papers/online.

At the same time they buy animal testet cosmetics, and Wear clothes made by child-slaves in africa.

It's required by law that the animal is unconscious when its slaughtered, and so is the halal slaughtered animals. SO in denmark, "Halal food" prodused here in the country are the same as regular food. The only difference is that the muslim was watching it being slaughtered.

If people want to fight about that, its because they WANT to fight, no matter whant

Vegetarians can still get pissed at how animals are treated/killed for food.

Just because they aren't eating it, doesn't mean they are not aware of what's happening.

Point of the thread however was, it's illegal. But yet again something illegal in our own country only applies to some and not all.

You can't have something illegal and not illegal at the same time...
