Programs accepting chat traffic

How much PPS? You don't expect to get $100 PPS on chat traffic right?

Also what about PPL/CPA (per free), that we may give (but hardly $3 again), but PPS for chat traffic normally is not worth for any program, even if no chargebacks, there's also no rebills. Especially if incentivized chat traffic.

Wikipedia: incentivized chat traffic = they do it for PPS and not REVshare for a reason - most will send a bunch of friends to deposit $10 (or minimm anyway) once in a life, on the link of program - they deposit due to a deal: in exchange for the $10 spent, chat agent will give something off-site in exchange ($15 for example, or else, or simply is considered "help" for filipino agent); issue for program: most of these guys signup not because they liked site or wanted to spend more on it, but because a deal/favor to chat agent.

In my experience as a program, 1 chat traffic agent every 10 bring ok traffic (normal one, that spends like average banner click traffic), but to know, you need to test. Longer test I allowed, about $3000 paid if PPSs to the affiliate, results: 99% buy once, 1% buy more than once, loss about $2800. I normally run shorter chat traffic PPS tests or better, just cpa/ppl tests.

When you say chat traffic, are you talking about chat bots and stuff? I did that heavily back in the day and can't say I agree with much about what's being said here. Not only did it convert really, really, really good, but retention was ridiculously high for me. Incentivized traffic of any kind sucks but a great thing about this kind of strategy is you can laser target it without relying on filtering a ton of generic traffic.

He's essentially talking about direct sales. It's very effective for getting raw joins but the potential for abuse is huge, since programs have no way to monitor what is being said to customers to convince them to join, and the vast majority of customers joining your site through chat have no interest in it, they were promised something else in exchange for joining.

So programs that are not set up to filter that kind of traffic and lack the skills to closely monitor incoming joins will quickly lose their billing by accepting chat traffic.

Even if you are set up for it your biller may cut you off pre-emptively once customers start calling in with complaints.

The biggest problem by far is affiliates who stack joins to customers, getting each one to sign up to 5 or more sites (I have seen up to 20) until they cant even keep it straight what sites they joined and have no choice but to scream fraud and cancel their credit cards, charging everything back.

Finally, many programs and sites can rightly assume that a join equals a customer. However with chat sales, you don't have a customer, the chatter does. You have a join. Often a grudging join that is unwanted by the cardholder. Often the chatter will attempt to sell you this same customer over and over again. Last week I fired one for sending me the same customer 12 times in 2 days with a stack of prepaid cards.

Frequently chatters will talk the customer through a cancellation process and even coach them to get a refund so they can try to send the same customer with the same money to a second, third or umpteenth sponsor.

I have had chatters set up fake cancellation emails and send out fake refund receipts to customers to make them think they weren't spending money. I've had chatters call the customer service number pretending to be the customer and cancel.

It's a huge headache and if you don't know how to deal with it you should not get involved.

Yes, the relationship between the chatter agent and the "customer" who does joins, guided by chatter, it is the main point. Honestly I had not many chargebacks from chat traffic, the issue it is more that they buy once only and the minimum.

To give an idea up to what degree the customers are doing joins just to make the chatter agents happy, rather than due to interest in the joined site(s), here's a cool story: my cam program's affiliate reports are showing not only an anonymous number of signups, but also the nicknames of each free or pay user that you as affiliate are converting. This is perfect for chat traffic agents, because they can check user by user by their nickname, and spot any missing signup. So they can bust either me (the program) for shaving, or the cardholder for not signing up as claimed.

The fun fact it is that when one signup was missing (this was simply because the cardholder googled tubecamgirl.com then clicked in results, rather than click on the affiliate link posted in skype/yahoo by the agent... a classic), the chat agent forwarded me the Epoch receipt email that the cardholder had forwarded to the chat agent as proof that he had signed up on my site. "See? This guy signed-up, here's the receipt that he got". This is quite some control.

Assuming you even get the customers correct email. I frequently get joins with emails like "[email protected]" so the chatter is trying to intercept the welcome email, both to downplay the amount the customer is spending and also to take control of the users account so they can either use it themselves, or simulate site usage to pass their joins off as productive, or else to interact with other site users (in the case of dating) so they can steal your members and sell them to someone else.

What I do is add the chatter on Yahoo, act like a potential customer then when they think they got a sale identify myself as the program owner and tell them either that they are fired or to knock that shit off or they will be soon.

On the contrary there have been legitimate concerns from anyone running a program and objective observations regarding chat traffic. I think if you do some research you will find this is probably the most charitable discussion regarding chat traffic on GFY so far.

BTW you don't seem to have contacted me. Why don't you post some contact information of your own? What are you hiding? Have you already burned through other sponsors? Or maybe you don't want you current sponsors to know you are adding campaigns to your list? Maybe you've already been fired by other programs and you don't want anybody saying why?

I wished I had read the information in this thread lots years ago when I encountered chat traffic the first time in my programs. Have to give credit to the original poster that he declared in advance that he is doing chat traffic, and asked if anyone accepts it.

Most new affiliates I get are chat traffic really, but very few will contact in advance to declare it - despite I wrote in every affiliate page (signup, instructions etc.) to contact us before to start, if you send chat traffic. So declaring "I send chat traffic, do you accept" it is a good start.

While no nonsense it was written in this thread, to be balanced, I have to give credit to a small minority of chat traffic agents for being the best performing ones in my program. They use the CPA (PPL, per free) due to my restrictions on chat traffic, but the number of sales is high enough that I would make profit as a program even in PPS - in fact I increased their CPA payout, fearing they would go away.

Rather than send me always the same minions under their command, they are fishing daily new fresh guys from some pay member area of (dating?) site probably. Which may be questionable practice, but I don't know officially where they hook the guys from, and got no one single complaint or chargeback, should the site where they fish guys ban them, or figure and write us, I suppose.

I have been contacted by a few dating programs complaining about chatters trying to bring their customers to me, upon closer investigation I have found evidence that in reality the dating programs in question are just mad that their affiliates are selling my site alongside theirs and are hoping to cut down on the competition, - as if removing my links from the equation would have any other effect than just causing them to move on to the next program.
