Don't bill too much on any one MID. Get many of them... everyone has their own number per MID. Your experts can tell you what they recommend.

My main objective from the beginning was to get to a magic number of "successful" sites in my network. I have that now. This now enables me to do what I set out to do when creating my company. Amongst many things, launch a tube.

The next step in the process is to get our own merchant account and to bring in the expertise we need. I had zero experience in running my own merchant account and saw this as a risk to my company and was more focused in the creation of new sites.

Processing with Epoch, Segpay and CCBill took away any billing headaches. I looked at their fee's, however high/low, as a cost of doing business. They take care of everything, and none of them have ever missed a payment. I have built up a very close relationship with all 3 companies and I have 100% trust in them. Quite simply, they are my friends.

Having my own merchant account will improve my already very healthy bottom line by a nice %. But until I was ready, I did not want the added risk to my company.

Not everyone will agree with how I have done it, but I am happy with the way I run my company.

I am also in the process of doing the same, and feel the same about my Reps at CCBill and Epoch. The only real differance between you and I JT is that you had the resources from the sale of YP to help fund your business (which I applaud) while I have had to start from zero to where I am now. If I had had even an influx of 100k we might be having lunch on my yacht. Sadly for me it must be on your yacht for now. :D

Oh - and I believe 100% without question that simply adding Bitcoin to your Join page killed sales. I'm surprised by 50% but probably shouldn't be; Bitcoin is all over the news lately and not in a good way.

Makes sense to me.

Back to the original post. I don't doubt your results with Bitcoin for a number of reasons. I think most were already stated in this thread.

I'd be willing to bet if you asked random people to play the word association game and you said Bitcoin their responses would be Hacked, Illegal Sites, Money Laundering, Drug Dealing or what the hell is that and they would have to go and look it up.

And for the few that understand cryptocurrency they 1. Probably know where to get free porn 2. Would need to verify conversion rates and 3. Why the need for anonymous transactions without recourse? Is this site on the up and up?

Being that there is no subscription model in place and how volatile BTC is I'm not sure it's worth even trying to figure it out until things in the Bitcoin market flatten out if ever.

There might be legitimate markets for anonymous payments but like someone else here posted you can pick up a prepaid credit card at any corner store.

I think your cc sales dropped due to the negative connotation of btc and nothing else.

Again, just a guess.

Edit: Sorry, a bit redundant after Porn Nerds post.

I hear you, but without my knowledge of the tubes, I feel that I would have wasted the $100k investment because I know I would have been too precious over my content to give the tubes 40-50% of a full clip in an edited tube version.

And I get sea sick, so you'll have to have lunch at one of my houses ;)

Hi,

I am not sure if you are already working with NETbilling to obtain your own merchant account. If not, we can certainly help provide everything that you need including the MiD, platform, customer service, chargeback management and more.

Please let us know if we can help you in any way. We are experts in I helping merchants make the transition from 3rd party processors to having the control and flexibility of your own merchant account.

Thanks, Mitch

Well,it is possible how it affect , especially now on mtgox demise. For example,i was just checking namesilo.com and noticed how they accept bitcoin, and it kind left me with a "bad taste in mouth".
So if it affect me that way who knows everything about bitcoin and know about it's existence from beginning, imagine how would affect average who probably doesn't know anything about it except maybe mtgox demise.

Now if he had looked at the evidence and ignored it, and carried on accepting Bitcoin so that he could hang with the cool kids, now that would be the mark of a real fool.

Just the type of fool you need to keep your pyramid/ponzi/MLM scheme on track........... :thumbsup

For those of you who dont know, this all started when a Bitcoin fanboy was hyping the porn.com press release on another forum. JT decided to try it. The results speak for themselves.

The last time I said no was months ago and I often do change my mind :) A lot has changed now so I'd be willing to look into just what's needed from our side. We have fallen short in the support of our affiliates, that's very evident, but if I take one thing from this thread, it was Shap's comment about going after the 5-10% revenues! and I see potentially more by actually giving the affiliates what they really need.

That statement will sound pathetic I know, but as I alluded in my earlier post, I came into the Paysites business with a sole purpose of making use of the little knowledge I had of the adult industry. And that was monetizing the tubes, not in the support of affiliates. But now is a good time for me to learn, and with your help, I'll try and get you the tools you need.

The launch of my new Affiliate Program, Eleganxia Bucks, will show you (and anyone else interested) in what we'll be doing from now on with affiliates and tools. My current setup, Porn Nerd Cash, hasn't been updated in awhile since I've been focusing on the new Eleganxia Network (launching in 2 weeks). But before, I would give affs what I THOUGHT they needed: 2 minute clips, 30 second clips, etc. But after doing this for a few years, and considering how the landscape has changed since 2010, I'll be giving out full videos.

Well, the same "edited full" videos I give the tubes. After all, the biggest tube sites ARE affiliates and they get 6-10 minute clips so why shouldn't your average every day affiliate get the same thing? Many of them run smaller tubes who need those "full" clips, too.

Cha-ching!

There's nothing wrong with Porn Nerd Cash. This new affiliate program is a more 'focused' collection of erotic-only HD sites (as opposed to a giant network of PORN). LOL

Eleganxia is a play on elegancia, latin for Elegant. So not really that odd. Maybe spanish-speakers can yell it in a club. :) Plus, it has an X in it! I'm so clever....:D

My :2 cents:... You should seriously rethink that one.

It may sound clever to you, but it looks like an incorrectly spelled name. Not to mention, you are expecting all of your affiliates to remember that bizarre spelling, which they won't. K.I.S.S.

I was personally a little stunned to see this. Why would you use a domain name that stands little to zero chance of people typing it in or typing the correct word in a search engine... much less, remembering it or even speaking it?

Interesting read. Since testing for the past 3 weeks, our results are somewhat better. 40SomethingMag went from 1:718 to 1:599; XLGirls went from 1:713 to 1:633; Scoreland went from 1:562 to 1:454. February isn't a great month to test change of options, specially with shorter month and V-day right smack in the middle, but even so, our results were not so bad.

So as usual the advice is that some stuff works for some people and tanks for others - you just have to test it and see.

Although you say your ratios improved, but not whether any revenue came in directly through Bitcoin.

Let's wait and see the sites themselves then people can judge. I've shown the name to MANY "non-porn" people and they loved it.

Affiliates will signup if they can make money.

The affiliate program name however I am willing to change - it was done quickly to have something in place when I began this. But Eleganxia people can pronounce. LOL Think 'Elegance..ia. Not that hard and many Spanish-speakers know that word.

Thanks for the feedback.

People on this very board told me the same exact thing about:

ErosExotica
Fellucia Blow

And both those sites have earned millions in revenue over the past 4 years. Type-ins? Through the roof. UNIQUENESS sells, even if it's a made-up word. In time, with branding, people "get it". So I hold my own council when it comes to naming things.

PS: Affiliates will be promoting the 4 HD sites in the Network, NOT "Eleganxia" itself.

The difference is in doing things where one looks at little details and seeing that they either offer you another small advantage, or another small disadvantage.

That's actually a main reason for doing this new network. It won't have the word 'porn' in it anywhere, and many affs who want to promote 'erotic'-style content won't do so if the word PORN is splattered everywhere.

When the sites launch you will see the attention to detail and how this new operation is more 'focused' than Porn Nerd Network (which is going strong and will continue to grow).

I still believe having something unique and differant works well in this over-saturated 'free porn' environment.

I'll be more obvious next time. Yes, the extra sales came through BitCoin. :disgust

On a related note, newly added options can also drive users to use other less-used options particularly when the price differs. Ive seen this happen over and over again over the years.

Any idea of bitcoin targeted traffic? Did you market for additional traffic?

Meaning... is it at *all* possible your normal traffic shot to say 1:1500 but then targeted bit traffic brought the ratio back down to lower then average?

p.s. I looked at your pre-join page and it, to me, is set up very well. Nice and compact and easy to follow. Default to credit card join and text not too big.

I am talking about the program name, not the pay sites in the network.

Well I will consider a new Affiliate Program name (if I can come up with one) since I never liked 'Eleganxia Bucks' to begin with. I threw it up there because I was working on six websites simultaneously. For now it's just a domain and a Header so easily changeable. :)

BTW: Proven affiliates are already promoting the 'SD' versions of these websites now and making bank so they will signup to promote the HD versions, too. :thumbsup

Any idea of bitcoin targeted traffic? Did you market for additional traffic?

Reddit, bitcointalk, coinbase and the such.

"50/50 revshare" - really? FUCK ME! that is amazingly unusual!
"weekly updates" - holy moly, that's a new idea!
"100% exclusive content" - I have just shat myself, no one EVER does that!!!
"high converting tours" - thank fuckery. i hate low converting tours!

you see my point. EVERY FUCKING PROGRAMME does that. there are many things I am sure are unique to the porn nerd network. Pick those things, not the things every single other programme does!

almost everyone does this, look at any programme's ads or home page. all the same. you could take a logo off one, put it on another and no one would know!

Alternatives:

Option One
"Whatever your niche, the porn nerd will convert it"
"Erotica, Busty, Vintage, Bollywood, MILFs and more"

Option Two
"Talk Nerdy to me"
"The Porn Nerd wants your traffic"

Option Three
"Revenge of the Porn Nerds"
"We're taking over. Join us"
"Become a porn nerd today - click here"

etc

See my point? Do something DIFFERENT and your ad will get much higher response.

Thanks very much!

Yes I totally agree with you - that banner was a 'quickie' since I had to have something in place right away. So I need to come up with some new ads. :)

Now where do I send the PayPal for your consultants fee? :)

As a tag line, I'd go with something like: "Nerds Do Get Paid For Porn"

No fee at this stage, that was a freebie showing you the sort of thinking I do. If you want to talk about working together in the future, feel free to email me damianjennings gmail

That's very exciting thinking!

Can we get back to bitcoin discussion causing damage, or not causing damage?
