Anyone here ever bid on GoDaddy auctions?

If you make the minimum bid on a domain and youre the only bidder, do you automatically get it once the auction is over?

So say the minimum bid is $700 and you bid $700, they counter asking for $2,000 but no one else bids and the auction closes, does that mean you can get the domain for $700?

No. This is no auction if they can counter. It is a make offer kind of deal and needs to be accepted by seller.

I try to stay away from auctions, you get sucked in for nothing. private deals are much better.

Not much of an auction if they can counter... Sounds like GoDaddy pawn shop

I've used their ither service before to buy a domain. I offered $300 and some company, which now spams the shit out of me on a regular basis, countered $2500. I was able to find the actual registrar and contact him directly and buy it for $650.

Now is the time of year when people want money, so they will often take less. Good luck

How come? You bid what you want to pay there.

or the auction ends, with you being the high bidder, and its listed a week later with a higher minimum bid.

i think they just do it to get interest and bites, then adjust the price upward.
