When I split with my first wife I told her to take what she wanted and I took off for a few weeks. When I returned home a few weeks later there was not one fucking thing in the house, not a spoon or fork, not a rool of toilet paper, nothing, my clothes were neatly folded and stacked on the floor where the dresser used to be. I had no furniture, no bed, no TV. I actually slept on the floor for four months.

It was the best thing ever. Nothing is better than getting rid of a bad relationship, regardless of the cost.

The first time after that I came home from work, everything was where I left it, and it was QUIET.

That alone was worth giving up the few material things she took.
