I ride my Harley often. I don't do dumb shit. I have kids and a family and I think of them every time I ride or think about doing stupid things in life.

Now if I'm the SUV driver and my kids are in the car, ohhh man!! Wont be good! And it wont be with a gun.

Its gonna be a tire iron and its gonna quick, on my terms, and nasty. You do the 1st one right, nobody wants to be number 2. Been there, done it, no what ifs, no theory behind it. No jail time.

I had 2 different friends get jumped, 2 different times, one stabbed one guy and the other stabbed 3 guys. One guy did 2 years the other guy did 6 years. Why is that? Keep in mind both guys were not looking for it and trouble found them.

The Law states: When attacked You have to meet force with equal or lessor force. Never can use greater force to repeal an attacker.

If the guy has a fist, you can't have a knife. The guy has a knife, you cant have a gun. Why sucks! The the law doesn't look at the number of assailants as an excuse to use greater force. 1-10 is all looked at as the same in Ca.

Jail sucks! I rather defend my self legally or take the ass whooping. "He-Man" gun shit=Fucked for life in Ca.

Google it. A shit ton of case law on it.

Just Dave

Maybe in California. Not in Kentucky or Florida where I live.

So Iron Mike Tyson or the equivalent attacks me, starts beating me for no reason or while committing a crime and I can only use my fists? Sounds fair. Sounds very California.

So what did the guy in the SUV do to piss of these crotch rockets?
I've had people cut me off while I was riding in a funeral, I've had a stupid bitch change lanes not seeing me because she had a towel hanging on her window, the list just grows and grows, riding a bike you see stupid shit every day.
I rode 600 miles today, from home to Vegas and back to sign a
contract. It was fun and no serious bullshit. Riding around the Valley, I have idiots that got their licence in a Craker Jacks changing 3 lanes at once.
This is why we have loud pipes
We give a rap on the engine and you should hear us, unless you are breaking the law by having ear buds in your ears.
We split lanes because Harleys are air cooled and we need to go at least 25 miles an hour to keep from over heating.
I've rode in a pack and had people honk their horn as they try to cut in between us.
I think this ass hat did something stupid and put his family in danger. Don't piss in the wind and expect to stay dry!

Quote:

The video shows the motorcycles converged on the 33-year-old man's vehicle on the West Side Highway in Harlem, and he apparently clipped a bike that cut closely in front of him.
The motorcycle rider suffered a broken leg, Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said. Some of the other bikers then surrounded the SUV.
I think they are referring to the one who did the purposeful slow down in front of him. In the video you can see the biker forcing the slowdown and then you see everyone stop as something has obviously happened.

.

Paully 09-30-2013 09:46 PM

I dont give a shit who you are. Other than law enforcement, if someone tries to slow down or stop your vehicle or try and change your course you should run them over immediately.

You have a duty to protect you and yours. It's pretty fucking simple.

I dont know why his door was unlocked and I dont know why he didnt power brake reverse and forward over those guys. If that was me there would be a bunch of skinny bikers getting scraped up.

Funny, I don't remember anything about "brake checking" being a preferred means of communication on the highway in my driver's manual.

why?

that's like saying if your on a bike don't be stupid enough to think your bike is gonna stop a SUV

Splitting lanes is legal in California, but not advisable the way he described it. You also dont need to be moving 25mph to keep your Harley engine cool, the fins on the engine radiate heat very efficiently at speeds lower than that. I think he just likes to say random things.

Road rules where I live...

You usually get into less trouble and it's less expensive if you actually back over and kill the person you just ran over. If they live, it's a legal mess and very expensive. If they die, it's faster and costs less to settle. Jail time usually depends on the class of person you killed or if you have the money to pay off the family or not.

For example, you're drunk driving like a dickhead and kill someone. Lets say the guy killed is a factory worker. Give his family $1500 - $30,000 USD, and they let it go. Price usually depends on the earnings of the one killed, how poor or wealthy the family is, and if the driver / killer is a local or foreigner.

There are always exceptions, but that is generally how it plays out unless it's a media spectacle.

yup, all of those criminal bikers should be run over by motorists. that behavior certainly deserves torture, mutilation and death.

in fact, all aggressive bikers are fair game to be run over and killed by anybody in a car and especially anyone in an suv.

same with bicyclists and pedestrians that get in the way. we should also speed up to run over jaywalkers. fuck that shit, run em over, this is my chunk of concrete.

I just heard on the news that the biker that got ran over is paralyzed and in an induced coma.

Air cooled motors are not made for stop and go traffic and will over heat

I have synthetic in my bike, but common sense would dictate that a 25 mph breeze is going to be better for my bike. My mechanic is the one that said 25 mph.

Loud pipes I have seen several times the benefit of having moderately loud pipes.

Drivers know you are there, that's why I have all 3 lights on when I'm driving and why I'm getting the brighter LED lights later

Police have arrested a motorcyclist injured in a clash with a Range Rover on a Manhattan highway that triggered a wild chase and beating by a pack of fellow bikers bent on revenge.
Christopher Cruz was charged with reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of the child, police told NBC New York. The NYPD is looking for more of the two dozen men involved in the hell-ride ? which was caught on video.

directfiesta 10-01-2013 08:53 AM

Cruz is not the biker that got injured, but the one that caused the incident ...

Quote:

Cruz was not injured in the accident.

The assault on the 33-year-old man, identified by CBS New York as Alexian Lien, began around 1:30 p.m. Sunday on the West Side Highway after he got into an accident with one of the bikers around 125th Street. After the driver and motorcyclist pulled over, they were quickly surrounded by 20 to 30 bikers who began damaging the victim's Range Rover, police said.

Lien, who was traveling with his wife and toddler, struck two other bikers while fleeing, police said. The other bikers gave chase, pursuing him for about 2 1/2 miles, and again surrounded the vehicle. They pulled the man from the SUV and beat him, police said.

Lien was taken to a hospital where he required stitches to his face. His wife and child were not injured.

Police said one biker suffered two broken legs after the SUV ran over him and another biker suffered a leg injury.

Lien has not been charged.

According to CBS New York, the wife of one of the injured bikers says her husband is paralyzed and in a coma.

Dayana Mieses says her husband, Edwin Mieses, got off his bike to help a biker who was hit in the initial collision and was injured in the process, reports the station. She says her husband has injuries to his heart, lungs and ribs and that he is paralyzed from the waist down.

"That man paralyzed my husband," Mieses said of Lien. "He needs to pay for what he did."

Police believe some of the bikers belong to a gang known as Hollywood Stuntz. They said the motorcyclists were part of a planned but unauthorized event in which hundreds of riders gathered outside of Manhattan, with the intent of driving into Times Square en masse.

As someone that only rode motorcycles and didn't even own a car for over 20 years, I think that the bikers were completely in the wrong.

They are not allowed to take over a road, they have no authority to try to stop or slow down other vehicles.... swarming all around them and then by slamming on their brakes right in front of them, thus causing an accident.

And at that point, when they swarm around the SUV in a threatening manner, I would, (with my kid and wife in the truck), gun it and go right through them, and frankly, if they had all been chasing as occurred in this case, I would have been side swiping them at speed in order to protect my wife and child from the possibility that one of them had a gun. AND the guy was on the phone with police before the first biker was even hit.

There is a reason that the SUV guy is not being charged and the bikers are.... It's because they were wrong all the way.

It's not good from any angle, but to say the SUV guy is not to blame for any of it is bullshit. You don't flee the scene of an accident by running over people.

He's fleeing for his life essentially. They ended up pulling him out of the car in the city, beating him and slashing his face. Can you imagine what would have happened out on that highway if we stayed?

Look I'm not saying the bikers had the right to pull to a stop in the middle of traffic, but I didn't see in the video anyone attacking the SUV till later after the SUV had driven over someone.

As far as the arrests, the police were already looking for a reason to arrest them, that doesn't mean a thing.

The bikers were in control of the situation. They surrounded the SUV. They're completely at fault, and I have sympathy for the guy who is in a coma, because he was trying to help another biker -- but as a whole group, those guys suck. Some them should be in jail.

Nobody is getting sued. You are going to see a bunch of bikers doing jail time and I wouldn't be surprised if you see some legislation prohibiting large groups of bikes riding together. Thats probably something the gov has been wanting to do forever.

He can say anything he wants, I didn't see anything in the video showing he was getting attacked before he ran over that guy.

Intent? Means nothing happened yet.
