take it to a detailer and have them use swirl remover and scratch repair on it.

Several methods but I would have it done at a shop.

And if you turn it in to the company with the scratches, yeah sure they will clean it up but they will charge you 3 or 4 times what it would have cost to do it at a shop.

Is it into the primer or just in the clear coat? I've seen guys get the swirl marks out of clear using a polisher. Black cars are the worst for that shit.

Leave it to the one black guy in the thread to more or less say, "fuck it..."

Meanwhile all of the Jews come up with methods to make it happen or at least give it a shot.

Not even Dave Chapelle himself could write this type of comedy.

A few scratches will be the least of your problems if the paint is peeling. FYI, bird shit may cause the paint to bubble in just a few hours. The damage depends on the type of bird shit.

Take it to a pro.

See, I bought the type of car that I don't have to be worrying about no damn scratches.

Great little rig to drive if you need to blow off a little steam in traffic (gets good mileage too).

You need a buffer and several steps of compound or swirl mark remover. This type of stuff is usually taken into consideration as wear and tear. If the paint itself is scratched you will need touch up paint, buffing will only help the clear coat/surface scratches.

for what it is worth i used to work at a ford dealership and did have some dealings with lease returns. Usually when they were turned in a manager (usually in sales dept) did a condition report on the vehicle before the owner left. Usually the lessee was completely aware of what is put on that report before leaving (can't remember if it was signed or not). Then the car is in the custody of the dealership, when the truck comes to pick up the car most of the time the condition is marked 'dirty/scratches' and that was unchargeable.

Any discrepancies between the truck drivers report and the dealers report was the responsiblity of the dealer, then on to the auction for the same thing. Discrepancies are now the drivers responsiblity. As far as your scratches a good detail with decent touch up job should do the trick. For touch ups there can be many options depending on the area. Most dealers deal with a lot of "non shop" vendors for touch ups, dents and so on.

You could always drop by the place where you are gonna turn it in and ask them for whoever does condition reports on lease turn ins. Have them look at the car and ask them to tell you what is chargeable and if they recommend an affordable option.

Do this:

Take it to a detailer and and have them do a total job on your car, inside and out. It will cost you about $300 or so and your car will look great.

Then go to the dealer. Show him your card, get the residual value, and ask him if he will offer you more. If not, leave and tell him you will see him on the day your car lease is up.

Between now and then put your car up for sale for a few thousand more than the residual. You will easily find a buyer.

When you have the buyer take him to the dealer with you to close the deal. You will walk out with a check. If you're buying a new car, you can transfer the taxes paid on that car to your new car and save $$$ too.

If its a clear coat scratch and general hood paint swirls Wolfgang swirl remover 3.0, a pad (green probably)and a DA polisher will get it right out. Polish with Finishing Glaze. Do the whole hood, not just the area of the scratch.

Its incredibly hard to fuck up your paint using a DA like a 7424 unless the operator is insane ;) I do my car once a year and you can get rid of every singe swirl and clear coat scratch if you take the time.

Alternatively take it to a paint repair company like Abra....they should be able to do your whole hood for $75 ish and provided it's not past the paint, you wont see the scratch or the swirls.

i just wouldn't worry about them myself, what colour is the car if it is a dark red it might be more of a problem if the scratches are visible.
