Let's paint a rosy future that many GFY-ers openly pray for, a world without Manwin!

It's 2 years from now: PornHub, YouPorn, Spankwire et al are all GONE. Not 'acquired' by another company but POOF! disappears. No more (Manwin) tubes. Let's even throw Brazzers and all their paysites into the mix - POOF! - gone, too. And all companies previously purchased or associated with Manwin (Playboy, Digital Playground, et al) are now owned by other companies or are 'independant' again.

Hallelujah. Let's all dance and rejoice.

But wait - my company's revenue has NOT gone up!! In fact, it's gone DOWN. I thought with Manwin gone everything would return to the good ol' pre-tube days of 2005 and I would be as rich as Zack, Shap and all the rest who sold out to Manwin! WTF???

Oh RIGHT - it may be 2 years later but other big non-Manwin tube sites are still around, and now with Manwin gone there's a vacuum with other companies scrambling to fill it Plus a major source of my paysite traffic is now gone, too.

But hope still exists! These new companies will make tubes to fill the Manwin vacuum, new mega-paysites will pop up to replace Brazzers et al, perhaps this would affect Google, SEO and SERPS,too. So, in the end, a non-Manwin future would look pretty much.....

But yes that is why is pointless to keep riding on manwin,as other tube companies probably even harder steal content.You could even make a parallel with occupy movement,which makes me wonder what those people actually wanted,did they wanted to take money from rich people and give it random poor people?It just not working that way.

Also what is interesting about manwin compared to other shady companies,they almost reply every time when is a thread about them,and dont remember did they ever requested to have thread closed compared to many other companies.

if the anti-pirates got together and encouraged the search engines to get on board with them (google, yahoo, bing...) then they acted on fighting piracy by denying the pirates search engine listing services, that could hold the pirates back quite a bit.

by the way, i don't use torrents anymore, i still visit one regular tube for my relief, and i have hardly downloaded gigabytes of data from any pirating service daily like some of those out there do.

You're right in that we wouldn't return to 2006. I doubt even if you could wave a magic wand at this point and shut down every tube and file locker that things would return to the way they were. Too much damage has been done. People (99%) expect porn to be free.

But it does have some value in justice and if you break up monopolies or near monopolies it tends to help others in the industry by creating increased competition.

If someone murders a family member throwing the person responsible in prison for life or having them put to death won't bring back your family member but still many people want to see justice regardless. Sure it's a pretty big leap going from murder to dealing in stolen content. This is just to make a point. Then again I bet there have been more than a few suicides in our industry related to content theft and the fallout from it. Thousands of people in our industry have been affected and I wouldn't rule it out.

Honestly though at this stage of the game what choice does he really have but to try to work with the tubes? I hate to say it but if you are operating a paysite and you expect it to be around five years from now with that model, you're crazy. I think the game is to leverage the tubes to hold on for some months and maybe some years. They have the traffic now. It's mostly crap and you're flushing your future business down the drain but hell that is already happening anyway regardless of what you do. In every niche 10,000 full scenes are available. 12 sponsors from each niche are furiously uploading their full scenes to the tubes. If you accept and realize much of what is being said here in this thread then, believe it or fuck off if you don't, but there's a way to make money via the tubes. You have to be smart in what you submit, be diligent about removing pirated content, and working hard on maximizing what traffic does hit your paysite, but sales are still possible. Comparing these current sales to sales I MAY HAVE made six years ago is complete foolishness.

L-Pink, Robbie and others who have been around since the "glory days" of Internet porn have the perspective of what they USED TO earn, pre-tubes. I think you're missing something though. The same thing which us old timers are talking about is probably going to happen to you (if you stick around). It's not "things are 50 times harder in 2013 than 2003 for paysites but it's going to stabilize here" it's more "things are 50 times harder in 2013 than 2003 for paysites and it's going to keep getting worse and continue the trend". Believe me, I understand what you are saying and I actually am agreeing with it. LOL Also, I don't think people hate "me" per se, just this current position of realization I am touting.

But think about it this way - because before I even started down this paysite road I did more than a year's research, studying other paysites and companies - how many paysites can you name from even 5 years ago that are still thriving (updating and growing) today? How about 10 years? 15? Those that are still "active" fall into one of two categories, neither of which I am interested in becoming (or am): mega-paysites (Brazzers, BangBros, etc) or "niche"/solo girl sites, small mom-and-pop operations, often a couple creating content.

So not being an affiliate - where you could (theoretically) promote paysites for decades - I look at it from a program's POV. I also rarely create my own content but rather partner with current (or past) content producers. So given all that I devised a "Five Year Plan" to go from $0 to....wherever. LOL Is it possible my network will still be active and growing 5 years hence? Perhaps, but I am not planning on it. I have other life dreams and goals that need my attention and Adult was always just a stepping stone for a single person to go from poverty to wealth.

My overall ratio from tubes is 1:252. One of the biggest ones is 1:183 - another is 1:605. I've also stopped uploading to the ones that didn't perform at all, which was only one. The only affiliate we have with a better ratio is FreeOnes.

But if you read GFY, content owners are getting a shitty deal and only making peanuts now & especially off of and because of those "evil tubes" - you also will hear this at shows I'm told, but I've always avoided those circles. My guess is that these people are either has beens, never weres, or just overall negative in general for whatever reason, but one thing is for certain - they've never seen the data and/or learned/knew how to properly act upon the data. As a smaller affiliate myself also, when I stopped doing quantity shit sites and focusing on quality brands, my ratios went up. The surfer has evolved and the smart ones in our industry have also evolved. Lower ratios are also easily explained by a MUCH larger audience than 10 years ago, but logic doesn't work with negative, reactionary types.

The only thing I wish for was a faster upload speed.

Me, too - on both the ratios from tubes and wanting a faster upload speed. I get 50mb DOWNload (big whoop) and 5mb UPload. Oh how I wish they were reversed.

A question for the "businessmen" dealing with Manwin and other tubes...

If I set up a taco truck next to my restaurant and offer free samples...How many customers come into the restaurant? Bullshitters will tell you a lot of people come in but its bullshit. Especially when you weigh the cost of the free versus profit you made from 1 out of 10000 possible customers.

You need to get realistic with your price points, most people are still charging $30 per month for a membership which is frankly a ripoff in this day and age!

This is 2013 people and we're still in a global depression/recession.

You just have to look at what companies like Netflix & Spotify are offering their customers.

People in this industry need to be charging less for their product

I think most people in this industry are stuck in the past, they believe their product is worth a lot more than it is (or ever was worth for that matter) The golden days of someone coming along with a small investment i.e. starting a single model paysite like a Tiffany Teen and making $500,000 - $1,000,000 in a year are long gone. That was a once in a lifetime opportunity to make that type of cash with a small investment, yet paysite owners still have this mindset that they should be earning big bucks.

Most single model paysites are lucky to be earning $50,000 - $100,000 at best now (and even that's the better ones!)

This applies to every niche out there. Porn content is worth a fraction of what it used to be worth

Smart people adapt to the new reality but the majority would prefer to bitch and whine about something they have absolutely no control over i.e. the tubes

Have you thought about speaking to your tube partners and asking if you could send them the content to upload to your account?

Just a suggestion to free up time and money on your part

I used to do that all the time with my host years ago instead of waiting days for gigs of content to upload.

Most tubes don't work like that. Some have mass upload options but still we have to do the uploading.

Plus, sending a hard drive to a tube full of content would not be good I think. LOL

It's 2 years from now: PornHub, YouPorn, Spankwire et al are all GONE. Not 'acquired' by another company but POOF! disappears. No more (Manwin) tubes. Let's even throw Brazzers and all their paysites into the mix - POOF! - gone, too. And all companies previously purchased or associated with Manwin (Playboy, Digital Playground, et al) are now owned by other companies or are 'independant' again. Hallelujah. Let's all dance and rejoice. But wait - my company's revenue has NOT gone up!! In fact, it's gone DOWN. I thought with Manwin gone everything would return to the good ol' pre-tube days of 2005 and I would be as rich as Zack, Shap and all the rest who sold out to Manwin! WTF??? Oh RIGHT - it may be 2 years later but other big non-Manwin tube sites are still around, and now with Manwin gone there's a vacuum with other companies scrambling to fill it Plus a major source of my paysite traffic is now gone, too. But hope still exists! These new companies will make tubes to fill the Manwin vacuum, new mega-paysites will pop up to replace Brazzers et al, perhaps this would affect Google, SEO and SERPS,too. So, in the end, a non-Manwin future would look pretty much..... ....like it does right now. I doubt even if you could wave a magic wand at this point and shut down every tube and file locker that things would return to the way they were. Too much damage has been done. People (99%) expect porn to be free. But it does have some value in justice and if you break up monopolies or near monopolies it tends to help others in the industry by creating increased competition. If someone murders a family member throwing the person responsible in prison for life or having them put to death won't bring back your family member but still many people want to see justice regardless. Sure it's a pretty big leap going from murder to dealing in stolen content. This is just to make a point. Then again I bet there have been more than a few suicides in our industry related to content theft and the fallout from it. This is 2013 people and we're still in a global depression/recession. You just have to look at what companies like Netflix & Spotify are offering their customers. Unlimited films & music People in this industry need to be charging less for their product I think most people in this industry are stuck in the past, they believe their product is worth a lot more than it is (or ever was worth for that matter) The golden days of someone coming along with a small investment i.e. starting a single model paysite like a Tiffany Teen and making $500,000 - $1,000,000 in a year are long gone. That was a once in a lifetime opportunity to make that type of cash with a small investment, yet paysite owners still have this mindset that they should be earning big bucks. Most single model paysites are lucky to be earning $50,000 - $100,000 at best now (and even that's the better ones!) This applies to every niche out there. Porn content is worth a fraction of what it used to be worth Smart people adapt to the new reality but the majority would prefer to bitch and whine about something they have absolutely no control over i.e. the tubes
