Zimmerman may make the bucks

...as it appears his attorneys are already going after the State/State Attorney...and it looks as if they are going to go after the City for...in affect... tampering with witnesses to appease blacks...and the news network that tampered with the tape of his 911 call...to make it appear that he was a racist...and was racially profiling. He may also have a book and even a movie deal.

Not to mention a civil suit too!

This isn't the end, it's only the beginning.

Not to mention Obama and Holder sending their "peace keepers" down to "train and support" protestors.

Whatever money he makes probably will go to Trayvon's parents if they are successful in civil court.

That unit is sent out when there are protests...marches etc...particularly that involve civil rights...to monitor events. They do not train or support...they observe. They are identified by the clothing they wear.

Earlier Zimmerman's attorneys said something about immunity from a civil suit but I did not catch it all...so I am not sure what they were talking about.

It could be because he was found not guilty because it was a justifiable homicide.

My understanding is that if you are found not guilty (no one is ever found innocent) under the stand your ground law you can NOT be sued civilly

It is also my understanding that the feds have decided there were no civil rights violations.

So in essence that means this thing is over in terms of what can happen in court.

oh they are going to sue. http://www.nydailynews.com/news/nati...icle-1.1308943

Benjamin Crump, the lawyer representing Tracy Martin and Sybrina Fulton, Trayvon?s parents says that while this ends litigation with the Retreat at Twin Lakes, plans for a civil suit against Zimmerman continue.

I was always under the impression that what happens in a criminal case has nothing to do with the civil case. They are two different things; The burden of proof is a lot lower in a criminal case.

What I heard earlier today was that if they went the route of a stand your ground hearing and it was in his favor then he would be immune from a civi ltrial.

After the OJ trail Johnny Cochran went after pretty much every police department in the nation and found out which of them had officers that ran OJ's plate while the chase was on in LA. He argued that they had no legal reason to run that plate (any that did it were doing it just out of curiosity) and he got a settlement from most of the departments that had officers that did it. I don't know how much it came too, but it was a nice amount.

I believe that the Stand Your Ground defense as one example makes the defendant immune from civil liability.

Zimmerman WAVED the Stand Your Ground immunity hearing. And his defense made it a point to make his case strictly about self defense.

He is not immune from civil action.

Might not be that simple. His lawyer O'Mara claimed he will file and get immunity from civil lawsuits. I didn't understand that, so went looking to see what it could be based on, and see this from an article last week.

Quote:
The defense chose not to ask for immunity under Florida?s Stand Your Ground law in a pre-trial hearing. However if Zimmerman is acquitted, the defense could ask the judge to decide whether he deserves the immunity which would protect him from a civil lawsuit.

Tony, you can't be serious???

The federal govt. getting involved in a relatively unimportant local police matter????

Really?

Meanwhile, here in Vegas...the local cops are setting a new record over the last couple of years for shooting and killing unarmed citizens. But despite pleas from attorneys and the newspapers, the same Eric Holder who sent these agents to Sanford to interfere, refuses to do a DOJ investigation here to determine why and how this is happening.

Looks like selective cherry picking for maximum political gain by the Obama Administration.

And once again, Democrats just look the other way. Spy on us? That's cool! Kill people world wide with drones? Sounds good! Become the most secretive and least transparent govt. we've ever had and prosecute more "whistle blowers" than every other Pres. combined? Sure...why not!
And now send in the feds with our tax money down to shithole Sanford to help organize anti-Zimmerman protests? Well, it's cool with Democrats.

That's their TEAM! Yay! Go Team!!! "We" are gonna win!!! Yay!!!

Zimmerman did not use "stand your ground" and of COURSE his lawyers are going to ASK for immunity.. I give them a 0.001% chance of getting it as a rough guesstimate.

My gop buddies? What on Earth are you talking about?

And those guys Eric Holder sent down helped FINANCE anti-Zimmerman protests is what I'm seeing on the news.

You see what you're doing? No. You can't see it.

You are rooting blindly for your "team"

If Bush were president right now and had done the same exact thing...you would be raising hell about "koch brothers", "dick cheney", etc. and it being a huge conspiracy by my "gop buddies"

Our country is really getting pathetic with this team sport mentality. Nobody has political principles or real beliefs anymore I guess.

If Obama cured cancer tomorrow...Republicans would find something evil about it.

Conversely...if Obama dropped a nuclear bomb on a church orphanage...Democrats would find an excuse to make it "okay"

It's a sad state of affairs. I feel like I'm living in a country of mental midgets with no ability to stop and THINK.

He was responsible for the death of the person. I could sue if you break something in my house even if it was an accident, so I think they'll hear the case.

I watch all the news channels. I make my opinions on individual issues.

You've been "critical" of Obama? Yeah, I've seen the faux criticism. And yet...here you are saying it's okay for Eric Holder to send in these people to deliberately help stir up racial dissension.

Where is your criticism on anything of any importance Tony?

You can't even see what you are doing. You're calling me "blind" when I am flat out pointing out stuff to you.

I voted FOR Obama in 2008.
I am saying right here and right now that George W. Bush oversaw a huge destruction of our personal liberties and invaded countries illegally.
I am a Bill Clinton fan.
I'm a Reagan fan.
I was a Tip O'Neil fan as well.
I hate Harry Reid.

See any pattern there Tony? No? That's because I don't have a "team"...and as you know I am now a registered Libertarian.

You and millions more are all "Hooray for our side". It's Republican VS Democrat.
And the whole bunch of you are being tricked by the govt.

It's no different than a pro wrestling match. The two sides "fight" in public. The "marks" (fans) cheer for their side.
Afterwards the 2 opponents go out drinking and laughing at the rubes who fall for it every time. And the public is still all fired up over the "fight".

Open up your eyes and stop letting a political party form most of your opinions.

That's what has led to Bush and Obama getting away with anything they wanted to.

I can't imagine how anyone could read very many of your posts and think you are pro-republican.

You have said time and again that you are for legalizing drugs, you are for letting people do whatever they want and believe whatever they want because personal freedom means you should be free to do as you please. Obviously you are pro-porn. Those three things in general are about as far away from republican beliefs as you can get.

You assume too much because it fits your false narrative. I wish there was a third party worth a shit. And the libertians arent it, any party that nominates Wayne Root for vice president is a joke. The only two dems worth a shit to me,they are bernie sanders and Elizabeth Warren so Im not doing lots of fucking cheering.

My "False Narrative'

Tony, come on. Now you're just using catch phrases.

But I'll play along. What is my "false narrative"???

The only thing I've been saying in this whole thing is that you are painfully obvious with your bias. You don't see it of course. But everyone else does.

You should be more concerned with taking each thing that happens at it's own face value.

Once you do that, then you won't have a "narrative".

This is starting to feel like I'm debating Ed Shulz from MSNBC or something.

The two senators he likes gives a good insight into why he see things as he does.
