I think thats why so many "porn" companies end up going in other directions..ie tubes, cams, software, feeds, dmca services, videogames, consulting....what do you think?

Google has gotten too big for its' cyber-britches bitches.
I LOVE the idea of directing Exit traffic from paysite tours to Bing instead of Google.

For the first time in my GFY history:

i've been following google for few years now
whenever a search term stopped showing adult results, search volumes tank over time.
THey never go away but they go down quiet a bit.

Now that traffic goes somewhere. Users either try new search terms or they go to bing.
Bing's traffic has been growing ever since they became adult friendly.
I believe on the backs of adult searches bing is picking up tiny bits of market share from google

Don't think for a moment Bing is "adult friendly".

They just haven't gotten around to cleansing the product yet. I believe with the introduction of the XBox One that you will find Bing start leaning toward being a family friendly product.

The fact is that none of the big corporates like adult, they would prefer it wasn't there.

That's a good question that remains un-answered.

Obviously Time on Site is not the answer, but something else we still don't know about.

QFT - - They monitor enough peoples communications and traffic flows. They must have some data to back that up.

Time on Site is not the only answer about the Adult Tubes question.

I have seen some search results for adult terms, where 15 out of the first 30 results in google are PURE Tumblr Blogs... And no.. the other 15 are not all tubes.

SO, how do you explain that? And don't tell me because it's tumblr... We are talking about blogs overtaking tubes for some SERPS...

It's Tumblr. ;) Seriously though TOS obviously isn't the only factor used. I would also hope that TOS and bounce rate is tracked individually per terms or phrase. So a photo blog might have different TOS values for "teen porn" versus "teen porn pics" where with the latter we would expect slightly better numbers. Then you would expect for some terms blogs would rank better than tubes.

Nobody knows for sure what Google does other than Google. But to a degree we can figure some things out by trying to reverse it by looking at the rankings and attempting to put ourselves in Google's shoes while considering how we would solve certain problems they must face.

Shared hosting on any major host with unlimited WP installs will run you about $5 a month. If you can't afford that, go back to Macdonalds, bitches.

Why people build up cash driving sources on free platforms is something I'll never really understand.

The problem with online porn is that there is so much SPAM and so many shitty sites churned out by bots and scripts. Think about some dude in eastern bumfuck. He doesn't give a FUCK about SHIT cause he's living in dirt with shit and pigs and chickens - and a WiFi connection. LOL So he overloads whatever he can with thousands and thousands of shit sites that earn him a whopping $40 a month BUT he can live like a KING for $40 a month because his neighbors make $2 a year.

Deal with THAT somehow Google!

Why does Google hate porn? And a better question(s) may be: how does this affect those that rely mostly on the SEO game?

think about it: you spend months (years?) building blogs, trying to get your site a nice PR1 or 2, you're competing again GIANT companies with in-house SEO staffs constantly trying to put their tubes on top....is all that effort now wasted?

And another (damn) thing: with all this Google hate towards blogs, sites, etc, how come tubes still rule the day on Google? Why don't they do something about all this FREE PORN everywhere?

Google seems to hate anyone making MONEY with porn (don't monetize those adult blogs dammit!) yet they give love to tubes, tubes, tubes, where everything's free and readily available, even to minors and children.

So what now? All this seems to accomplish is futher fucking the little Webmasters/companies, letting the "big boys" do whatever the fuck they want.

After reading threads this week I'm convinced that "Google" reads GFY and that's why they hate porn.

Thy don't care about that, they couldn't give a shit. All they care about is that someone is making money as an affiliate, and they hate that. Primary producer is king. It's such an easy workaround anyway. If you can't use affiliate links, you can use....?

Well, to be more accurate, Google seems to hate certain KINDS of affiliates. Affiliates like PornHub, XHamster etc they seem to LOVE!

Of course, those videos would be there even if they weren't affiliates so I get your point. It's not right. Fuck, even when you search for a site's NAME it can come up on the 3rd page or worse with tubes and such on top of it. WTF???

yup. End product, and google loves to serve the end product, because it's what the surfer wants. If you could physically give away BMWs, and did, you'd be sitting pretty in the serps for all the car manufacturer words/phrases going.

Fucking hypocrites they are! I bet they like sex and like to fuck and even watch porn, but they need to be mainstream because they have pressure from governments and from the hypocrite society to preserve moral values.

This fucking world is a shame itself.

Not sure where you get this number but its more like 35% but yes it hurts. More mentally than financially though.

Most since last October/November

Mr. Peabody you're talking here about the recent "blogger" platform changes or in general?

You can't say that google hates porn just because it changed the terms to a 3rd party product. In the same way you could that facebook hates porn and tumblr hates porn and so on.
It's not the best strategy to build traffic from free hosts , just look at the thumblogger example.

You could say the google hates blogs and porn when you'll search for porn related terms and you'll get no porn site in the SEPRs.
On the other hand it's true that most porn terms like "free porn, porn, etc" are dominated by the big players but this is because they have lots and lots of backlinks pointed to them but that is not to the point of this thread.

Google has been under massive pressure from lobby groups to make it harder for both children and adults to find porn. We had the Prime Minster David Cameron here demanding it of Google just last week.

On the other hand it's true that most porn terms like "free porn, porn, etc" are dominated by the big players but this is because they have lots and lots of backlinks pointed to them but that is not to the point of this thread.
The recent Blogger thing is the cause of the thread but it also leads into the wider question, why does Google hate porn in general?

This is my point exactly here - if Google hates porn and wants to make it more difficult for people to find then WHY do they list so much FREE porn? Free porn dominates - it just seems Google doesn't want anyone making money from porn (especially not affiliates).

Have you read any "porn blogs"? What surfer actually wants to spend time on them? 99% of them have useless 1-3 line posts, or spun rss text from sponsors, and basically link a crappy FHG or the sponsor directy.

I'll say it again. Google loves end product, and if it's free for surfers, the better. Type in any band/artist and odds are it's their (and by their I mean free, 'autogenerated by youtube') youtube channel, certainly top 5 if not 3.

Why? Because give anyone the choice of free or paid, and the vast majority want free.

Not to mention: Free = 100s of thousands of natural backlinks, and despite what's been said in this thread, backlinks rule. It's a vicious cycle that just breeds the 'everything is free on the internet' mentality we now have that absolutely dominates popular thought.

I used to build blogger sites 6-7 years ago because they had good traffic from within the network.

Exactly. I've never read a porn blog in my life. There's no point to it.
They were for nothing but getting SEO traffic to the real site to begin with.
And now Google is definitely taking the Time On Site factor into the equation since it would indicate whether the site is really delivering the content that interests people who are searching for that keyword or keywords.

As I said earlier...if you have two sites and ALL things are equal: keywords, good text, backlinks, etc. BUT...one of them is a tube site and holds people much, much longer on the site than the blog ever could, then the "tie" is broken and the "win" goes to the tube every time.

I wish Google would delineate between "free" and "paid" and make a distinction somehow. Flag the tubes as 'WARNING PARENTS FREE PORN! IF YOU CLICK THIS LINK YOU WILL FIND FREE DISGUSTING SEX ACTS WATCH OUT!"

LOL

Making porn INaccessible would make it naughtier, dirtier, MORE desireable. Ah Google don't you get this?

That would make them even more popular. Best way to make something "hot" is to ban it.

That's why porn sold so damn good up until the last few years. When it was just pictures and a few 15 second clips here and there it was the perfect amount of "tease" to get them to want to buy.

Now? Hell, people are BORED with porn. I'm pretty sure there are at least a hundred thousand full scenes out there for free now.

But yeah, if you want to get the porn tubes to have even MORE traffic then putting that warning on Google would do the trick.

Human nature. Tell people about "FREE DISGUSTING SEX ACTS" and warn them not to click...you might as well lay down the red carpet for them to do it. lol

Fuck it, we'll build an importer so you can export your blogger site and import it to easyxsites.com

It is indeed a very strange move on Google's part, especially since they allow adult - just not if people profit from it. Very strange.

Kinda moot - if you have keywords, text, time on site as equal, then backlinks would win the tie.

Think about why tubes get the most backlinks. In fact, I've already said why a couple posts up - it ain't rocket science

I agree...but the reason that all of that works for tubes is: Full porn scenes.
End of story.

They get the backlinks and the time on site because they are giving the entire farm away for free.

And the ones who got their first with the most (the best thieves) are the ones that are going to stay at the top.

No way to build a new tube and get as many backlinks as you want...it still won't knock those older tubes off their position.

Simple.

If you cannot monetize it it reduces the load. Peeps dont write this shit for fun.

We'll have to agree to disagree, I just can't see them making this move to reduce load/bw. I also don't think it'll stop people still making them, just take a look at tumblr to see how many people love to give shit away, for fun
