:tongue Hey, baddog...I tried juice!

Baddog of all people knows the crap I eat on a daily basis.
One of the webcamclub fraud girls makes this stuff all the time.
It's a small glass, but I'm working my way through it!

Tastes like soil, looks like tru blood.

juicing doesn't have to taste like shit.

I how good it is for you, but my latest mix is

Apple,Orange,Red Kale,Celery,Cucumber,Ginger,Lemon,Carrot.

My favorite so far.

Lloyd. Is this any good for me? I've been supplementing my lunch 2-3 times a week with this for the last 2 weeks.

not really. i put a very small amount of ginger and lemon, and to me they get the most flavor. Also carrot and apple comes out in it a lot. I put maybe the size of the tip of a thumb of ginger in and it gives a good taste of ginger. I happen to love it. I am sure everyone does not.

Pretty much everything Supz listed, minus ginger and add beets (hence the blood red color).

It took me this long to finish it. Blech!

Dont you have to drink juice in a certain amount of time to get all vitamins etc? Or is that a myth of some sort?

You have to drink it within a day or two or the enzymes will die.

Looks interesting; but juicing can be tasty. It is probably easier to stick with it if the juice is pleasant.

Tofu - I added you to our FB juicing group I think; you should be able to find some great, tasty juices.

Baby steps. Congrats.

A year ago or so my girl insisted on spending over $500 for a Vitamix blender. I thought she was fucking crazy.

I'm the one who actually uses it the most these days.

So basically its beets who ruines the taste. Lose them, unless they have some extra special vitamins or something.

Ginger is great; we have it in at least 99% of our juices and it is very good for you. I am not a fan of beets, so if we use them we make sure there is apples and/or pears in it to neutralize them.

Thanks and thanks for adding me. I'm looking forward to this becoming
a pleasant, regular thing for me. I may start pitching in on the funds for the office juices.

She's got to 86 the beets though.

Pure health right there. If everyone could get back to eating (or drinking) the staples of life again, we wouldn't have to worry so much about getting sick and disease.

As I write this I'm drinking 2 bananas, 1/2 a large avocado, a very large helping of organic baby spinach (stems included), about 10 raw almonds, a few dashes of cinnamon, in a cup and 1/2 of cold water, and blended into a perfect smoothie. Delicious!

the vegetable ones aren't the worst way to get some extra in you, but you miss out on most of the nutrients turning it into juice though.. the pulp that gets thrown away helps absorption.

for those of you doing the fruit ones? You will gain weight.. There's more sugar in those than a milk shake in some of them. I lost 40 lbs by not eating fruit instead..

I have lost 50+ lbs since I started juicing.

And while you say nutrients are lost because there is no absorption, I say nutrients are lost because your body still has to break down the pulp.

You all need to see how Tofu eats to understand how in shock his body is going to be from sudden nutrition.

I have been interested in juicing too but I have to keep really strict calories or my weight loss starts to reverse and I've worried about drinking my calories rather than eating them.

And while you say nutrients are lost because there is no absorption, I say nutrients are lost because your body still has to break down the pulp.
nutrients are carried by the fibre though... by squeezing the water out of them you get minimal amounts from the juice itself.. somewhat better than supplements but mostly an inefficient method as opposed to just eating vegetables. Good place to start if you have health problems and want to improve eating habits though no doubt about that.
