![]() I'm putting together some educational materials around SEM/PPC and other aspects of Internet marketing, as well as a few things on incorporating Facebook and social media into your business, to growing and expanding business with repeat customers.
I find myself helping out a LOT of small and medium sized businesses on things outside of PPC/SEM campaigns, including a pretty good amount of consultants and entry level campaign managers connecting with me to ask for advice or if I have any information to give to them. So, I'm thinking of becoming "Professor BossKU69" and offering things from small learning seminars to full agency training. I have a few colleagues in the area who do something similar and moved away from campaign management themselves. Recently I've been involved in developing technology to build, manage and even reporting for agencies to use for their clients, so this is just the next step. With that said, trying to get some feedback from people looking to just learn a little, but what is a good price point for the "entry level" person without being to expensive? I'm thinking maybe $199-$399 a course with materials? Here are some of the topics:
Most of these to start will be held in our large conference room, then I'll expand to other cities and rent out conference rooms at hotels. Agency training for the most part is fairly straight forward, but this is more on the consultant/beginner basis, or the person looking to manage their own campaigns in house. Btw, I am in no way a noob to this field, I've been involved in paid search and online marketing since 2001 working with various SEM agencies and providing campaign management to small $500/mo. businesses to overseeing campaigns of large businesses and Fortune 500 companies. - OR - Would you rather buy materials in the form of an eBook and DVD/YouTube videos and learn on your own from $99 on?

maybe have a difference between 'corporate rates' and 'individual rates'
if it's corporate, you can effectively charge way more |

I'm looking to move into more of the individual training for consultants and people who want to work at an agency, as well small/medium sized businesses that have someone in house but they need some better advice, or looking to hire someone in house.... but I guess that's "junior corporate" level, but beats actually training a team of people how to manage campaigns directly for clients.

why not set it up as a 'minimum buy', so $200, that involves 'xamount of time for support' so personally, if i were to buy your services, it be way more effective if i had you around for when i was actually 'trying ot make it work', rather than have you do an info dump which i can get online with enough looking |

Years ago I did this in LA for a few dedicated to real estate agents and had a great turn out, just recently with time not on my side, it's been tough.

On warrior forum you can find such courses.
I believe there is demand for it. I would like private coaching, but - adult oriented , not mainstream.

I think its a great idea to segment into affordable blocks and let people access what they need. Short primers are great compared to long classes.
Have you done anything with SAAS? A hosting company was telling me a bit about the current state of it. Seems like you could prevent sharing of your work with it and just limit to paid clients. |

I was just reading some nonsense a small agency out out today which is complete bs. I ended up emailing them telling them their information is not correct and was informed it was written by their "marketing veteran with over 2 years experience" LOL |

![]() I am told it will kill piracy dead in its tracks. I don't understand that part completely but the hosting company who mentioned it swears by it. |

I think it depends who you are selling it to. If you are selling it to people who are potential customers. It would not charge for it. If you are selling it to people who are going to take your information and implement themselves. You have to figure out what the information is worth to someone else. What is the possible ROI for them knowing this information.
I have been doing technical seminar for about 5 years. I do some as you say in small conference rooms. That bring in 15-20 people. I pay for breakfast, it costs be about 75 bucks for coffee, bagels, muffins etc. (NYC Prices). Lets say the hole thing, with doing the mailing and buying the food costs be 200 bucks. Thats $10-$15 per lead. The best qualified lead you can possible get. This is pennies. Sometimes I do bigger lunch and learns that cost $30-$45 a person and I can fill up a space with 50-75 people. Again, the best quality leads money can buy. People that you know are interested in what you are selling, have gone out of their way to meet with you. Now when you call back for a meeting it is no longer a cold call. It is a friendly hello. You bought them a meal, they owe you a meeting. It costs a little more then doing webinars, but I think it is much more effective. My business is local to the NYC area though. If you are looking to make a business out of being a teacher of subject. Then it is just a matter of what your time & the subject is worth. You don't want to spend time teaching on something and make less then you would implementing the same subject with that time. If you are looking to do something on a national level. I have a solution where you can teach live through the web to thousands of people over the internet via video. You can create an interface to charge them, and it will save the videos on a youtube style site where you can later sell subscriptions for access to the videos. It is not a cheap solution but if you are at a large scale, charging 1000's of people XX amount of dollars. It will be well within the budget. :-) |

I've put a few feelers out there and seems to be a lot of interest in the basic to semi-advanced training wanted, as well how to sell PPC services. Now it's just time to get everything setup... B
but first I need a nap ;) Quote:
With regards to adult, that is really were I learned to fine tune my skills. When profit margins are within pennies, it takes a lot to keep them going and making worthwhile money. Back when I was pushing adult sites hard, it was easy to pull in $5k/mo profit with little work. Now there's a bit more competition and takes more like $1 in gets you $1.10-$1.25 back. I dropped pretty much all my adult ads except for the few on auto-pilot years ago when I got stiffed by a sponsor for over $10k then with money in epass, all my profit just went to that.
