Is GFY still mostly bitcoin haters?

I don't come here too much. Always been an advocate for bitcoin. Now they are at about 27 bucks. Wordpress accepting them, Reddit Accepting them, Mega with Kim Dot com acceting them. I see cam sites accepting them now for credits, just like I suggested a couple years ago and got shot down for.

If anyone has a bitcoin cam site with some sort of affiliate program I'm interested.

They need to be more stable to be used more as a currency. How does anyone price stuff if they move 5-10%/week?

Well some checkout systems let you put in the USD price you want to charge and the person will be asked to pay that amount in bitcoins at checkout whatever it is. Some places such as Bitpay. Allow you to accept bitcoins and convert it to cash right away so you are not subject to market fluctuations.

I want to reply with something good, but you are so ignorant to how bitcoin works it seems I dont know where to start. Do you think when someone pays with a credit card they are paying with american dollars or are they paying with fictional 1's and 0's on a computer?

I know very little about this stuff... but it occurred to me that there is probably some opportunity for arbitrage in that manner. Create a nerd circle jerk... Bitcoins -> WOW Gold -> USD -> Bitcoins ... or add in other fake currencies. Linden Dollars etc.

There is a site that does this.

https://www.virwox.com/?drgn=1

The difference between bitcoin and every other currency that has ever been made, is that bitcoin has no central location. There is also a finite amount that will ever be made. The code is open source. The computing power of the whole network is 100x more powerful than all the supercomputers in the world put together. (or something like that)

Comparing it to WOW gold is kinda retarded.

ignore bitcoin sycophants trying to get you to buy in now the price has been pumped up. they want you to buy in and hold the bag for when the price crashes again. This is bitcoin pump and dump part two.

Sure the price will probably come down again, this time though there is more of an economy in place. One bitcoin gambling site made $500,000 in its first 6 months.. Bit pay has 2000 merchants and growing at a 50% rate every month. The texas holdem industry is huge.. lots of room to grow.. I'm long term. There is also a major US casino about to start accepting them.

No chargebacks, instant payments. Couple good reasons. Like I said before you don't even have to deal with bitcoins at all if you dont want. You can accept them and get them converted to cash by the processor.

I'm not a bitcoin hater, but not a bitcoin lover. The only real reason to get and use them is either hoping they'll go up and not crash before you spend them (aka lesser risk/reward type of HYIP) or you're using them for generally nefarious activities or things you'd be ashamed of getting tracked. On that note I could see it get bigger with adult someday, but still, just don't think there's really going to be a long term need for it.

What is the real purpose? Why not just use the existing currencies that has worldwide legitimacy?

I forgot about classycams, yeah, you're right. that site is pretty dead though :/

as far as skype girls I don't know many (any) who accept bitcoins. Maybe that'll change at some point but the instability of the currency is a huge issue for many. I would imagine that smart chicas who accept bitcoins use it as only a small portion of their payment options.

Cause its a currency that cannot be inflated when someone just wants to print more of it. Transactions can be anonymous if you really want them to be.

Basically internet cash.

It can't be inflated because it can't be printed, but it can be inflated/deflated based on the market demand. Someone said in this thread that it fluctuates 5-10% regularly. Take that fluctuation and add the illegitimacy factor and it's even riskier than a currency that can be printed.

Sounds like a currency built for conspiracy theorists and isolationists.

The similarity between bitcoin and every other currency in the world that has been made is that its value is based 100% on faith and nothing more. And no one was comparing it to anything, except you.

bitcoin transactions can't be traced so they are being used by drug sellers/buyers and anybody else who doesn't want their transactions to leave a paper trail

to cash out your bitcoins you do need to use a bitcoin exchange like MtGox so when you're buying and selling bitcoins you're not invisible.

Thats fine.

Just so you know. You don't need to be in bitcoins for very long, you can send them to an exchange and cash out instantly. Don't see how the instability is even an issue. (not that its been that unstable for the last year. Bitcoin is 99% horny male nerds. Bitcoin has a 300 million dollar market cap right now... big market there.. Just sayin.....

I stand corrected.

It was created for conspiracy theorists, isolationists, and for illegal transactions.

Wordpress and Reddit are some of the biggest sites in the world. It was created by people who don't like the government being in charge of money and inflating it whenever they want.

Here is the bitcoin chart for the last year.

The bad thing, as I see it, is that the government(s) is/are not involved.

That may also be the good thing at this point.

One thing that governments hate is being not involved in something profitable.

Eventually they do get involved and often they simply squash whatever it is.

Non government approved currency has been tried before and ended badly.

Ok how will the government quash bitcoin. Keep in mind it's worldwide. There has never been an alternate currency like this all others have had a central location to shut down. Bitcoin doesn't

to each their own, my reasons for not using bitcoins extend beyond instability of the currency

1) many of my guys fit the demographic you mentioned and I've never once had a guy turn away from booking a show because I don't accept bitcoins. It's simply not a demand amongst my customer base in any way. I've never even had a guy mention bitcoins to me as a preferred method of payment.

2) I don't understand the currency and neither do many of my best customers. After bitcoins people hit another forum I'm on I actually asked a few of my best regs if they ever use bitcoins. It was 'no' across the board. Rightly or wrongly, two of the more mature established guys immediately associated bitcoins with the Silk Road. Not exactly the image I want to put out there to potential new customers.

with that in mind, the idea of using something new to fulfill a need that personally I haven't found exists makes no sense to me.

is it weird to anyone that bitcoins people have been pushing bitcoins so heavily on diff forums lately? honestly that alone turns me off...I'm not interested in hype and it does make me wonder what the big push is all about. I don't really care cuz I'm not invested either way, it just doesn't inspire confidence

like I said though, to each their own. I wish chicas who do use bitcoins all the best and maybe if one day far down the line the currency becomes more widespread I'll change my mind. For now I just don't see the benefit.

Sounds good to me. I'm just saying the bitcoin community usually supports anyone that is accepting them. I'm not new to promoting bitcoin if you go back a couple years on here I was still promoting bitcoin. I own maybe 10 bitcoins total not a huge sum by any means. I just see it as a way around alot of problems that are faced in this industry and would like to see it catch on.

I don't know the method of how they would or could interfere , just the history that tells me they'll find a way if they want to.

I'm not against bitcoins at all, just wonder why people think they'll turn out differently that other attempts to escape the influence of governments.

I'd think it would be fairly simple to pass banking laws against transactions involving bitcoins, then how would you, could you, take cash out? Or put it in?

1's and 0's that can spit real green money out of an ATM are pretty different than made up internet funny money.

I agree the weak spot of bitcoin is the exchanges which is where the rubber meets the road.
When bitcoin becomes more widespread people wont need to depend on exchanges as much and can just do transactions locally with cash. I have someone in my town that will buy bitcoins from me if I chose to sell ect. http://localbitcoins.com

Yes but your money that you take out is worth less and less every day. Some people don't mind, but some people wonder why that is. :p

It was the same for internet gambling, eventually the banks are the weak spot.

I wonder what even the discussion of an anti bitcoins banking law would do to people's confidence?

Seems to me that just the rumor of this would be enough to cause a run to cash out, once might be survivable but multiple times would erode confidence.

I see such an action by some government as very probable.

I believe it will be the opposite effect. If there was talk about it people would rush to get them just like they do with guns. Back in 2011 Chuck Shuemer talked about banning bitcoin and the price shot up to 32 dollars a couple days later. Its worldwide there are exchanges all over the place. Every country would have to agree. Some countries will most probably embrace bitcoin.. The world isn't the US. Most bitcoin casino's deal in bitcoin only and have instant cash in's and cash outs no banks involved.

Strange that such a straightforward question is going unanswered.
