Shall i explain to you the difference between a day and a year? Let me know.
It gets a few 1000 visitors a day. And obviously only a small part of those people go swimming.

How many people do you think are there on a day that has 200 rescues?

1000 visitors a day, 200 of which need to be rescued.

Just STFU already.

Bondi Beach statistics for December 2011

Despite some patchy weather in December there was still an estimated 244,000 people who visited the golden crescent of sand known as Bondi Beach. Our lifeguards performed 182 rescues, undertook 0ver 2,100 preventative actions and provided first aid on 280 occasions.

They should post signs everywhere that it is dangerous and then let them drown if they ignore the warning. This is Darwin at work. Let him do it.

In 2007, the Guinness World Record for the largest swimsuit photo shoot was set at Bondi Beach, with 1,010 women wearing bikinis taking part.

this probably has something to do with it.

I was wrong indeed. There are way more people there daily. So at least a few 1000 people a day in the water. That justifies 100 almost drownings. You are right. Thread closed.

You know as much about the beach, waves and currents as you do about guns.

So with your vast experience with Bondi beach, you know that a few thousand people hit the water out of 40,000 who will attend the beach?

100 almost drownings? When did this happen? Are you not able to read and comprehend?

How many deaths a year? Knowing that number we would know more about those rescues, if very very small number of deaths then it would mean lifeguards are extra cautious and many of those 2500 rescues were not even serious. If decent number of deaths then we would know otherwise.
