I am in Ft Lauderdale now, but for a 500k investment in the Bahama's you live tax free for the rest of your life.

I found a house on the beach 2 1/2 acres for 500K, real estate counts as an investment then that's it.

And only 20 min by plane from Ft Lauderdale/Miami, so this does not sound all that bad.

i used to own a couple of Dunkin Donuts in upstate NY and had to spend 2 months in Braintree at Dunkin Donuts University to be able to open a franchise - loved the area.

Yupp Van is nice city to retire kind of $$$ but its worth it . The clubs here are not that grea, i find it kind of boring ass, well altogether its pretty dull, maybe i am just old fart at age 21

sounds like you are on the gold coast? it looks awesome to me.

I live across the street from a sandy beach and the ocean and am still downtown, but the water temp. is still cold enough at the height of summer that you hardly find anyone enjoying the water.

on that basis I guess we are blessed - as it rarely gets so cold that you need a lot of heat and even less that it gets so hot that you need air con, but best of all IMHO - we have very little humidity so its never sticky...

I hear that although Nelson has residents that take a lot of pride in where they live and they really look after the place well, a large percentage of the wealth and revenue to all the town businesses is a direct result of the massive outdoor marijuana crops that grow in the Slocan valley.
