Is CCbill first in line on your payment cascade? read this....
Yesterday I tried joining a few top porn sites with my credit cards. 2 are Payoneer and 1 is societe generale visa...
No big surprise that they were declined immediately, CCBill does not accept payoneer and my visa was declined also. I got a message from CCBill how the transactions were "declined for my protection" so I called them and asked what the problem is. Their customer support was very helpful and they told me my IP address does not match my location and that they do not process russian master cards?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Ok a few screenshots and scans later (they did not ask for this they would have declined me anyway) the guy from CCBill told me basically that they decline a shit ton of payments for these reasons...even though I could prove their geo IP software was mistaken they could not do anything about it. We are talking about a 29$ membership here not 20000$ in physical goods. so what is my point???? all of the sites i tried to join had epoch and other billing but Ccbill was first in cascade and they do not "decline" and lead you to another processor but they send you this e-mail and they wait for you to call, if you get declined NONE of the sites I tried to join have a "take me to an alternate payment processor" option nor does ccbill inform the site your transaction was declined so that the site can follow up with another payment option... its amazing that these multi million dollar companies rely only on CCbill as their one and only processor in their "Cascade"...if you are suffering from low sales you should seriously look at your "join now" options for the user and what actually happens if CCBill is declined...they decline a LOT I did not manage to join any of the sites do I e-mailed them to ask for an Epoch payment link because they all have EPOCH but it, somehow, does not appear in the cascade... |

This is where I have been confused for years - I thought 'Cascade Billing' meant that if it was declined with one proc., it would try the next.
So (for example) if you were declined by CCBill you would get to EPoch and finally if all else failed a high risk chq or SMS processor. It seems not... I only got this a few months ago from a thread on here... |

ccbill informs the site owner, customer transaction was declined.
contact ccbill and ask them for CCBill_Background_Post_Users_Guide.pdf and look in "reasonForDecline" . so the site owner gets the reason for decline and then they can act accordingly. anyways i agree with your point, ccbill scubs hardest. put in epoch first

They way I see it:
Cascade billing was invented and put in place to benefit the site owner, if the processor declined the sale. Then processors must have seen a rise in their "lost sales" since declines moved elsewhere and thus didn't generate any money for the first processor who declined. So that processor have to come up with a system to, for their own sake, business and revenue, "keep the sale" with them. So the cascade doesn't move on, at least not before they have had a chance to convert it themselves. So basically the "call in function" gives CCBill (in this case) a second chance to convert the sale and generate commission for themselves. Bot honestly, how many out of all the declines do call in?

Nothing will happen...I tried 3 times with other sites all they do is put my money on "pre-authorize" (on hold) for 3-5 business days and then release. I can call CCBill all I want, to be fair their customer support is super friendly, but they will decline decline decline no matter how many documents and scans you send them. The "your transaction was declined for your protection" e-mail and no cascade is what will happen... Anybody who wants to reduce loss of business by over-scrubbing should have links to alternate payment processors on their website and should follow up with e-mails. |

Most high risk adult processors check to see with each card how much they spent per day, per week, month etc and set thresholds to minimize fraud. Like a specific card only spend 100 USD a day or 1k a month through all of their processing outfits.
I understand you are frustrated but this is high risk processing, not a business to business transaction on paypal. Cards like paxum and payoneer will almost always get declined on HR accounts. Also trying 3 cards in a row will flag you at any processor.

Being an affiliate sometimes when I get a sale , it disappears from my stats in short time. Happens quite often.
Got it explained that this happens when their processor is not available, so they create the subscription and display the sale in your stats, but then when they try to charge the card as soon as the processors is back up again, the guy might get declined, so they take the sale off from your stats. Sad to see all those declined cards ![]() |

CCBill (and all other processors) have advanced fraud scrubbing algorithms. Based on many factors they will decide to approve or decline the transaction. Adult transactions are high risk transactions, so the scrubbing is always quite strict (to avoid problems with their merchant accounts).
Different billers use different fraud scrubbing algorithms, you can get declined on one processor and be approved at another (for a whole array of different reasons or a combination of reasons). It does not necessarily mean that one biller is better or stricter than the other. Unfortunately the scrubbing is necessary and a percentage of perfectly valid transactions will be declined. Without scrubbing most merchants would not survive though. If you get your own merchant account and a gateway such as Netbilling you can set your own scrubbing criteria. The email thing instead of sending them to the next cascade is probably a setting in CCBILL, or it only does it for certain transactions. In a normal setup declines will always be forwarded to the next biller. The amount of declines before it sends it to the next biller is also definable at most billers. |

I already offer an epoch text link but it's not clear, I think now i'm going to give my customers 2 clear options, ccbill card or epoch card and let them decide. Both run the cascade so affiliates get paid. I had absolutely NO idea that ccbill may have suspended the auto forward to epoch, there is no way of knowing other than joining..

Login to your ccbill account 'Account info > Account admin', 'web validation rules' on the left nav. You can set it up however you want, enable it for some countries and disable for others. Personally I have it off and it will stay that way as I don't believe customers will call in enough to outweigh the pick-ups from epoch. Each to his own... |
