The British guy who hacked into the Pentagon wont be extradited

The mother of British computer hacker Gary McKinnon has welcomed Home Secretary Theresa May's decision to block his extradition to the US.

And they are now going to do this for any country who wants to extradite a British Citizen

Measures would be taken to enable a UK court to decide whether a person should stand trial in the UK or abroad - a so-called forum bar.

good or bad ?

Good or bad, right or wrong, the reasoning was absolutely retarded. Basically saying if he's extradited and tried, he might kill himself. Boo fucking hoo. Get arrested, go to jail and you might be unhappy.

You know the CIA and MI5/MI6 is at work here. Clearly the two governments sat him down, got him working for the inteligence agencies, and they will quietly drop charges.

you are missing the point, it is a major issue here and a major news story. its been seen as the US stomping around, demanding everything done their way and there is a lot of opposition to that in the UK.

Nope plus he was not allowed access to the interwebs and this

Mr McNabb said he suspected it would ask Interpol to issue a red notice - making other nations aware there was an outstanding arrest warrant for Mr McKinnon in the US - which would mean he could be arrested if he left the UK.

That's what they should have done at the start. He'd be far more useful as a security checker than sewing mailbags.

So then why is the UK not extraditing a murderer to South Africa....?

http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2012...n_1723531.html

A businessman wanted in South Africa for the honeymoon murder of his wife needs 12 months to recover from depression and post-traumatic stress disorder before being able to deal with the extradition process, a court has heard.

Shrien Dewani, 32, who is accused of arranging the contract killing of his wife Anni in Cape Town in November 2010, is under medical treatment after being sectioned and deemed a suicide risk.

Dewani needs "time to recover" before being extradited, his legal team says

After many previous hearings, the case returned to Westminster Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.

Dewani's barrister, Clare Montgomery QC, said the process had been hanging over her client like "the sword of Damocles" and he needed "a period of calm".

Chief Magistrate Howard Riddle adjourned the hearing to September 18 for a psychiatrist employed by the South African government to examine Dewani and furnish the court with more information about his condition before making any other decision.

Dewani has previously pledged to clear his name.

Miss Montgomery said keeping Dewani under medical treatment in Britain for 12 months would increase the speed of her client's recovery rather then jeopardising it by sending him to South Africa.

She said that, according to his psychiatrist, Dewani was making a slow recovery but one damaging factor was his "constant awareness of the court proceedings".

Sound familiar?

He will play the same card now and wont get extradited as will a lot of others, and with the forum bar in place, it will make it a lot harder for countries to extradite people from the UK

Yeah, my wife is from South Africa, and we spend about a month out of the year there. People there are SUPER pissed about the UK not sending this monster back to SA for trial.

Durban is where they are from. She is Indian (massive population of indians in Natal), and ironically, I actually also lived in South Africa, (in Jo'burg), from when I was 10 until I was 14.

And yes, the violence and crime is absolutely out of control there. Damn shame.

I agree with you, he should go. the British justice system is a fucked up politically correct mess when it comes to extradition, ol hook hand wanker is a classic case in point, the cunt should have gone right away and so should this man but Gary McKinnon is a different case, he is a figurehead on the British opinion on how Americans can dictate and say their laws take precedence over ours and especially the one-sidedness of the extradition treaty we have with the Americans. If the US had handled it differently then Gary may well have gone without any fuss but it was the usual heavy-handed ?do as we say? approach.

Durban used to be a nice place, when we lived over there, dont know how much it has changed now, We lived in a place called Florida just on the outskirts of Joburg.

Yep its a real shame about all the violence. I saw some real nasty shit when we lived out there.

Dam I miss the good old SA braais lol, but we get a lot of boerewors, biltong, driedwors ect over here now, but dont have many braais cause our weather is so crap

Care to explain why, in legal terms, Abu Hamza and the other men extradited last week are different to McKinnon?

McKinnon commited his crime on British soil, he may have hacked American computers but he never left the UK, America are saying that a law they made that they want to extend around the world is valid in the UK, which it isnt, he should and proberbly will be tried under British law. Abu Cunt commited crimes in various countries and Shrien was is South Africa when his incident took place. Thats why the cases are different.

If Hamza is accused of committing crimes in various countries, why was he sent here? Oh, I see, we can't extend laws to McKinnon, but we can to Muslims you don't like? I'm fairly sure the UK is quite capable of trying him, if there is any evidence against him. Likewise the other four people you sent to the US last week, one of whom was British and has asperger's, like McKinnon.

Face it, you sent Hamza and the other four because you are racist Islamophobes, and you prevented McKinnon because he's not Muslim and he's white. Do you think if an Arab did what McKinnon did he wouldn't be sitting in Guantanamo right now?
