What's up with OneVerify and the insane rules?
Just a little rant.
I've just had sites declined by them for 'advertising' on the tour. The advertising in question was a very small box at the bottom of the warning page with links to filtering software to stop children accessing adult sites. Obviously I make no money from linking to stuff like netnanny of surfwatch. It's 100% there just to inform parents that this sort of stuff is available and that they should really be using it if they have kids. Why is it that OneVerify don't allow that??? Is it OK as far as OV/TB are concerned for children to wander around porn sites? The rules make perfect sense regarding advertising but rejecting for linking to child filtering software as a warning to parents is plain daft. Rant over. |

I think they have a reviewer who is really strict. Sometimes after I have a site approved I will use a mirror layout and submit again to have it rejected. All depends on the reviewer I think. Dont quote me on this.

Sure - I don't need those links up but take some things seriously including the child thing. Part of the reason I concentrate mainly on AVS these days is because I can censor (and make money |

Tipsy - this doesn't sound like a matter of a reviewer being too strict, it sounds like a reviewer who simply made a mistake, and didn't look close enough at the link.
The sites are first scanned by a bot that detects outlinks, and marks known "OK" links like filtering software and other similar non-advertising links. It sounds to me like the bot erroneously identified the link as advertising, and the human editor failed to verify the bot's accuracy. I can take care of the problem for you right now if you send me your webmaster ID (the site ID for the site in question would help too, if you have that handy).

Many thanks for the reply. I was a little upset because there was simply no possible way the links could have been mistaken for anything other than what they were. A case of VERY over zealous reviewing.
I've taken the links out of the sites now because even the best company in the world can be slow to deal with this sort of problem and have resubmitted them without. It'd be handy though if the reviewers could be told to allow this sort of link. As I say there could have been no confusion as to where the links went to and what they were for. That way I can use them again on future sites. Again though thanks for the reply. As usual TB/OV support is better than most even if it is via a board |

OneVerify drives great quality traffic to their AVS list. The ones that have sites in their list should feel very lucky.

Technically, filtering software is *competition* for age verification systems. Just a thought.

Yeah, the reviewers already know that filtering software links are allowed. This sounds like a case of someone moving too fast, and not checking their/the bot's work closely enough.
Did you have multiple filtering software links on the page, or was it just one? The reason I ask is that I'm curious as to which software/link it was, so I can check and see if there are any filtering programs that are missing from our database of 'good links'.

One Verify is just plain rediculous.
I have sites that re 100% clean, no outbound links at all, only outbound link is their console on the join page. I have 2 galleries inside with a total of 60 pictures with 1 link to my ynot toplist account. Nothing else... They say i have more than 3 links on the tour and too many advertising links in the members area. One verify needs to learn to count that 0 is less than 3 and 2 small text links in the members area is ok. They still want a one verify banner over my text link even though they are already in the members area and they have already joined. Lets see lets try and sell their members another join... I don't know who is dumber the bot or the reviewers? My bet is the reviewers are dumber |

Quentin, Those new videos sites like Cum Hungry Taylor etc on the new list are popping a console when you click on the video thumb, are consoles allowed now?

Quentin...
CYBERPATROL NETNANNY SURFWATCH are the ones I use in a small table. Almost sorry to bring it to the board but it's the best way to get attention sometimes and like I say the whole child thing is important to me |
