Update on Production Moratorium, Performer Testing

CANOGA PARK, Calif. - As a result of a performer testing positive for syphilis, APHSS providers are administering the standard RPR syphilis test that is approved by the FDA for preliminary diagnosis. A negative test does NOT mean the performer is approved to work. It is important to note that this test has a large window period — as much as 90 days — and therefore cannot be relied upon to diagnose an acute (recent) syphilis infection. More importantly, a person with an acute infection can be contagious and still test negative. We cannot rely on these tests alone to determine a performer’s availability to work. This test only provides our doctors a baseline from which to base further testing or treatment options.

Free Speech Coalition (FSC) has called a temporary moratorium on production and asks that all producers honor this moratorium.

Syphilis is easily treatable—it requires treatment with antibiotics. APHSS’ doctors network has determined that prophylactic treatment for syphilis for all performers is warranted. The shots have been ordered from the pharmacy and within the next couple of days, APHSS.org will have set up a network of medical professionals to administer the shots. Locations for performers to get the shots will be announced by tomorrow, August 21. Once the performer receives antibiotics, he or she will be available to work within 10 days.

Finally, our doctor’s network is speaking with expert microbiologists to determine if there is a test that can be utilized to identify the presence of an acute infection of syphilis. If such a test exists, this test will be administered when the performer comes in for prophylactic treatment, in order to provide additional information.

Manwin has agreed to cover cost of the shots for performers. Other producers contributing to cover the cost of treatment include, Evil Angel, Girlfriend Films, Kink.com, Vivid Pictures, and Gamma Entertainment. Still more producers are offering to contribute – this is an industry-wide effort by producers to ensure the safety of the performers. We greatly appreciate the cooperation and contributions of involved parties at this time.

“I always appreciate how our industry comes together in a time of need,” said FSC Executive Director Diane Duke. “Clearly our industry’s priority is the health and well-being of our performers. Thank you to all of the producers who have and will contribute and thanks to all of you for honoring the moratorium.”

Heres what i can tell you...a euro performer Liza Del Sierra was here in the US roughly 2 months ago and she was either staying with or regularly booty calling Mr M.

She went back to Europe.

does she have it ...i dont know rumor is that she does, did she give it to him or did he give it to her...I have no idea but I expect this does connect the two outbreaks...Im not a big believer in coincidence like this it defies Ochams Razor

I can't say if he used the same test in Budapest. The collection date of the test presented to me was July 21, 2012 and it was altered/forged. Hopefully, this will help you to do the forensics to estimate any impact on you. The RPR portion of the test was altered. He didn't even know the terminology to use to indicate negative. He replaced the result with "Not Applicable".

As the discussion has continued on this subject, it occurred to me: Even if he had a "good" test...it still wouldn't have helped.

Syphilis isn't really tested for because it's so rare. Right?

So the likely fact is, that whether he had a forged test or not, he probably had no idea that he had syphilis. I can't see any guy who makes his living in this industry going on set and knowingly giving people syphilis.

It's already ruined his career. So I don't think he did it on purpose. And even if he had not used a forged test it still would have shown him as clean.

Seems to me that all this hand wringing and press conferences is a bit of a waste of time.

Everybody needs to just go to the doctor. Tell your doctor you may have been exposed to syphilis. They will treat you on the spot.

Wait 7 days. Go get tested. Nobody accept any tests prior to Sept. 1 and make sure the test includes syphilis AND a doctors receipt and write up showing treatment for syphilis from more than 7 days prior.

Outbreak stopped dead cold. Problem solved efficiently and quickly.

OR...the FSC could continue to put out press conferences and "moratoriums" and calls for testing (instead of treatment THEN testing) and make us look like a bunch of idiots.

We're all dumbfounded by his actions. I have the actual results from the testing center. He knew he had it because the original test shows the results and he made the effort to modify it. Additionally, he admitted to it.

He was tested for syphilis? I thought it was already discussed on here that the testing centers do NOT test regularly for syphilis.
And with a little research on Google I found that it's almost non-existant in the civilized world...except for the occasional outbreak like we have seen here.

So who tested him for syphilis?

I'm under the impression he had the standard test for gonorrhea, chlamydia, and hiv and then doctored the date on the test? If not...then how did he end up getting tested for syphilis when nobody tests for it???

Yes, he was tested for syphilis by the testing center. He had it, knew it and forged the results to keep working. That's why we're outraged.

He didn't change the date on the test, he changed the result. He also smeared out the name of the testing center but I knew the format of the test to know who it was from. The test looked like it was produced on a printer that ran out of colored ink then copied to black and white. It was bad looking.

AIM used to test for syphilis twice a year. The tests were free and I was under the impression that it was because the LA County Health Dept. paid for them. I was told they were only done twice a year because syphilis wasn't a problem in the porn performer population (well, until now).

Some performers prefer to get more tests than what are usually required, so those individuals may test regularly for syphilis.

Doing a little reading...it looks like syphilis is almost non-existant in the general population too. (the general population has higher disease rates)

I was just wondering what test he showed Nemesis Enforcer. Was it an "industry" test from TTS? If so, then why were they testing for syphilis and when the result came back "positive" why didn't they list that on his account when producers log in?

And why on earth would a guy like Marcus willfully infect people? Something doesn't add up to me.

I totally agree. I don't like the argument of some people that it is so rare and waste of money. When it comes to someone's healthy such factors shouldn't be applied over few dollars/month.

i would really love to know if he was working over here with a forged test. because it simply annoys me that right after the news came out, some people were immediately pointing at the girls over here as if they were dirty scum that spread the disease to the holy american men. and this attitude pisses me really off - see below why
