Today I've got an email requesting my docs

why would you need it? can you tell me the motivated reason for that?
it's easier for me to stop promoting that program if you are going to brainwash me. And yeah, support hasn't provide anything worth than

maybe you had some chargebacks recently and they decided to check if you're legit webmaster? who knows. Adapt or simply skip them, there are lot's of affiliate programs who wants your traffic

If you are Clean & Legit, I don't see the issue

Is there any proof that Epoch is being required to do this per KYC? AFAIK they are not a bank. I think that excuse is likely bullshit. The issue with it is that affiliates don't want to have to send their driver's license and other personal documents to 1,000 different programs just to get paid. I'd end up spending more time dealing with that crap then I would actually working to try to make money. It's also serious identity theft and privacy risk. If you believe otherwise you should set an example and publish an uncensored scan of your passport or driver's license in your sig.

Even us as Affiliate Program, we're kinda under the obligation (to some extend) to know who we are dealing with...

If Epoch is truly required by law to do this then so would others. Which means sending the info to all the others sponsors as well. Many reputable companies go bad and in many cases we have no idea who really owns the companies in question. It would be a big risk to give ID scans to every sponsor not to mention a hassle.

In my opinion it shouldn't even be legal to require uncensored scans of government ID for such use. Especially not without a clearly defined privacy statement as well as a statement of what exactly the ID will be used for, how long it will be retained, and the names of the principals involved in the company responsible for it's security. Someone needs to be held accountable for the use of information given.

As a pay site owner I am required to send scans of passport and driving licence to every billing processor I have used. Epoch, CCBill, Verotel, etc..
As an affiliate gets paid 50% of all sales they refer to me I think that it is perfectly acceptable for that billing provider to screen the payee.
As a sponsor it is nice to know that we are not giving part of our revenue away to shady people organizations.
As said, unless you have anything to hide I don't see what the big deal is.

Personally I have not 100% agreed with Epoch's business principles and have had my own run ins with them. But looking at all the bad press that other third party billers have had recently for supporting piracy, missing payments, etc..it's kind of nice to see Epoch adding a little extra screening to avoid inadvertently being associated with the wrong clientèle!

This might explain why my bank just closed my accounts... after 19 years and 10 months of being their client. They told me that, "...there were problems with where some of my transactions were originating from or going to...". As I don't do anything illegal (or also, as the bank manager explained to me, being involved in gambling, the marijuana trade, or receiving large amounts of money from international sources), I take that to mean they figured out I was dealing with people in the porn industry on a regular basis.

Please post on GFY if your bank, in the process of getting to know you, terminates your account(s) too. Thanks.

It's no secret. They just scrutinised my 2257 address and wouldn't accept the PO Box address I was using.
It pissed me off because 1) No other biller had a problem with my 2257 page and 2) I'm in the UK so a physical or virtual address should make no difference as the US authorities have no jurisdiction over here.

and it's an easy logic. they know it's me because i use to get checks from them. i wouldn't be able to cash them in without the real data.

I posted no story here. I am asking why you would trust a 3rd party to accept payments on your behalf, but not trust them with information that they legally require. Is that ok with you?

GFY does not handle payment processing. GFY does not have to deal with Mastercard and Visa Regs. GFY does not have to deal with banking laws and rules. GFY does not ask you for your full name, address and federal tax ID. GFY does not have to // you get the idea.

Look. My point is that Epoch is on your side. I'm sure they have to deal with alot of shady people all the time. They are doing spot checks to weed out potential frauders so that they can keep providing good service to the adult community. Haven't they provided good services to you so far? And to the programs you promote? Haven't they paid you on time, etc? Help them weed-out the frauders already.
