Adultking, notice how less and less people comment in this thread and act all excited?
It's because the majority thought that this stuff would have impact on their sales which ofcourse it won't. Now after weeks they finally figured this out and lost all interest.
Typical adult webmaster behaviour.

No problem, just wondered if he put his money where his mouth is.

He's rich and retired so should be donating his time AND money to help them. Be better than posting walls of text no one reads.

Speak for yourself, you`re just jealous cause someone makes a difference in the industry without being a dick. Remember the saying " Beste stuurlui staan aan wal ? "

hmm. something i read at wjunction. uploaded.to and some of the bigger sites have seemed to turn back on their PPD affiliate plans, and many uploaders are posting of getting paid by paypal etc. Some of those screenshots are crazy. Guess they're out of the hot water?

If PayPal is going to process porn then they should open it up to all sites. Piss or get off the pot!

If I were in the pirate (STEALING) business, I believe I would pack it in, get away with whatever money I could and use that money to start a legitimate business.

This is just the beginning. I believe that before it's all over a lot of pirates are going to jail.

Granted I don't frequent this forum enough to really know what his shtick is. However everything I see of his usually seems to be correct. He's contributing to this cause, unlike most others here. The comments left on www.stopfilelockers.com are well worth a read. The self justification and excuses made by pirates is better than anything we could add to the site.

These guys do not realise that the more they run off at the mouth, the more they strengthen the anti-piracy case.

We don't comment on operational matters. We rarely disclose our targets unless it's part of strategy to do so.

It appears HitFile.net / TurboBit.net are starting to think about their future.

http://stopfilelockers.com/wp-conten...erproblems.jpg

Quote:

Dear partners!

Eight months ago, we have increased storage period of files twice, but after the close of our Paypal account and prohibition to receive Paypal payments on the site, we are forced to return the previous files storage period.

After blocking receiving payments through Paypal on our and similar websites, to keep stable working and solvency of the project, despite the fact that we are currently connect new alternative payment systems, we are forced to reduce the files storage period.

Nevertheless, we tried to keep a very good storage period, what would not much affect our masters.

From today, on turbobit.net and hitfile.net will be new file storage period: 30 days for free users, 60 days for premium users.

also, babies are born 10 seconds after you fuck a woman, google indexes a page 1 second after you publish it, you die of lung cancer 5 minutes after your 1st cigarette, and get sunburnt 2 minutes after the sun hits you. Oh, and tubes all hit 60m uniques a day after a week, and new filelockers break $300m profit after 15 days.

if some cunt stole your phone and you had the opportunity to remotely kill it, you wouldn't do it right? won't bring the phone back. might as well let the thief enjoy your property and make a profit from it :error

The phone is gone. I'd cancel the service on it so that the fucker couldn't call china. However, it's not quite the same analogy. It seems like some people are under the delusion that killing file lockers will bring porn back to the days where you could throw some images up, buy a spot on The Hun, and make bank. Those days are long gone and taking every single file locker down will have 0 impact on the industry as a whole.

I'm still for ending piracy but be realistic about what the end result is going to be.

Stop File Lockers is the first play in a very long game. It's going to take time to deal with File Lockers and will take longer for any flow on benefit to be fully analysed or appreciated however Stop File Lockers is the beginning of a much broader attack on piracy.

Like everything, these things take time, nothing happens overnight or even within the less than 30 days that Stop File Lockers has existed.

AdultKing 07-26-2012 04:06 AM

Extabit email to affiliates.

Quote:

Dear affiliates!

Now we're going through hard times.
Still we plan to continue to provide service to all our customers.

Most likely we will not see PayPal anymore both like a purchase option and a way to send money.
No we're working on the alternative payment methods and we've already connected 2 of them for purchases via credit card. We do really hope that with your help we can reach the level of sales the same like with PayPal.

PPD program is temporarily suspended.
We do not want to attract the unnecessary attention now so do not rush to activate the topic at the WJ.

Now we face the following problem (by priority):
- Leaseweb
- Payments earned after the PayPal limitation
- Frozen payments on hold for 180 days

1. Leaseweb
We have 99% of our entire infrastructure on LeaseWeb with signed long-term contracts.
Now we are in the negotiation process with them and trying to ask the deferred payment for our account.
If LeaseWeb will not make concessions - the whole infrastructure will be switched off and all the money we have on hold now will be spent on refunds and chargebacks.

2. Payments earned after the PayPal limitation
They work!
New alternative methods of accepting payments:
- Set up a large commission, as We are high risk.
- Big Hold
- Rolling reserve
- Payment delay
because of these conditions, we do not have the possibility now to pay every Friday. But we still working on it.
We will use: wire,wmz,okpay,payza to send payouts.

3. Frozen payments on hold for 180 days
We'll do our best to send them faster than 180 days.

Now we sent all the money we earned for LeaseWeb bills.
As soon as we'll get some extra money from new sales - for the payment of "fresh" sales.

It's very hard to predict the specific date for the first payment due to all the factors we have.
The destiny of the project is in your hands now. It depends only from your supports, your new sales and posts.

Regards
Extabit.com

Seems to me the only illusions in this thread are those ones that are put forward by such posts as the above. And let's say *if* the end result was 0 impact on the industry, why do you even give a fuck? Why even post? To feel superior? To put others' work down? To belittle AK's work? Seriously, I'm at a loss as to why you feel the need to post stuff that brings 0 impact to this thread..

AdultKing 07-26-2012 04:38 AM

HenchFile.com: Who comes up with these names anyway ?

http://stopfilelockers.com/henchfile...-names-anyway/

HenchFile.com made a big deal on Digital Point Forums about having gained Paypal approval to run his File Locker, seems things didn't actually turn out that way as just moments after posting the story we rechecked the site and found Paypal was no longer accepted - with the ever so familiar message "The recipient is unable to receive money."

We're in contact with Liberty Reserve and expect that option to be gone soon also.

Russian 07-26-2012 04:39 AM

Do I get it right that those funds which PayPal blocks for 180 days are going to be released and those owners will be able to actually get it?

That's a question for Paypal. I understand that in the TOS PayPal are able to "fine" repeat offenders, you'd have to refer to PayPal for details.

Edit: Here is the AU portion of the Paypal legal agreement in relation to holds.

Quote:

18. Limiting Accounts
18.1. If we hold a reasonable belief that there is an increased risk associated with your Account, you agree that we may limit your access to sending money, issuing a refund, receiving money, or making withdrawals for up to 180 days. We may take these actions for 180 days because we reasonably believe the risk still exists or are prohibited by law from releasing funds or unrestricting your Account. For example, funds may be held beyond 180 days or returned to the sender if we are unable to Prove Your Identity in connection with our obligations under the anti-money laundering, counter-terrorism financing laws and “know your customer” requirements.

18.2. We may also limit access to sending money, receiving money, or making withdrawals from your Account if it is linked or associated with another PayPal account which has been limited in accordance with clause 18.1 above. We may determine your Account is linked or associated to another PayPal account, for example by comparing account names, email addresses or IP addresses.

18.3. If access to your Account has been limited, you will be notified by email and requested to provide information relevant to your Account, a transaction or even your identity.

18.4. In assessing this risk, we will investigate your Account and consider the reasonable risk of a reversal, a breach or likely breach of this Agreement, or other potential losses occurring to either us or our customers. We will investigate the matter promptly and make a decision.

18.5. Following our investigation, if we reasonably believe there is no longer a risk, we will restore access to your Account, subject to any other actions we may take in accordance with this Agreement.

18.6. If we reasonably believe a risk still exists, we may:

return funds to the sender and restore access to the remainder of your Account;
continue to limit your Account access for up to 180 days as is necessary to protect us against the risk of reversals. As indicated in clause 18.1, we may be prohibited by law from releasing funds or unrestricting your Account; or
close your Account by giving you notice and returning any funds held in balance to you (minus funds that are in dispute). If you are later determined to be entitled to the funds in dispute, we will make an additional payment of those funds to you.
18.7. If we request verification documentation or other identity or data verification information from you (especially for Prove Your Identity purposes), you agree to provide the requested information in a timely manner.

18.8. Ongoing failure to Prove Your Identity may mean we may be prohibited by law from releasing disputed funds or unrestricting your Account and your funds will be subject to applicable laws regarding unclaimed monies.

18.9. The following is a non-exhaustive list of events which may lead to your Account being limited:

reports of unauthorised or unusual Credit Card use associated with the Account including, but not limited to, notice to us to that effect by the card issuing bank. This includes notices made by you to your Credit Card company that a transaction was unauthorised or your Account compromised, and is done in order to protect you from further unauthorised use of your card;
reports of unauthorised or unusual bank account use associated with the Account;
abuse by a buyer of the reversal process provided by the buyer's bank or Credit Card issuer;
abuse by a buyer or seller of the PayPal Buyer Protection Policy or PayPal Seller Protection Policy;
multiple disputes received regarding non-despatch of merchandise, non-delivery of services, merchandise not as described, or problems with merchandise shipped;
receipt of potentially fraudulent funds;
excessive disputes or reversals;
attempts to "double dip" by receiving funds in a dispute both from us and through a reversal or a refund from the seller or a third party (for example eBay);
refusal to cooperate in an investigation or provide confirmation of identity when requested;
initiation of transactions considered to be cash advances or assisting in cash advances;
sending unsolicited emails or posting referral links on websites where they are not permitted;
opening more than one Account (with the exception of one Personal Account and one Premier Account or Business Account which is permitted);
your Account has been used in or to facilitate fraudulent activity;
material breaches of this Agreement;
a risk assessment of your Account conducted by us;
name on the Nominated Bank Account or Nominated Card does not match the name on your Account;
return of an incoming electronic funds transfer for insufficient funds or incorrect bank details;
use of an anonymising proxy;
any breaches of our Acceptable Use Policy;
reports from credit agencies of a high level of risk;
your use of your Account is deemed by us, Visa, MasterCard, or American Express to constitute abuse of the Credit Card system or a violation of Credit Card rules, including using the our system to test Credit Card behaviours;
logging in from a country not included on PayPal's permitted countries list; and/or
any other activities which we, acting reasonably, deem as high risk selling or receiving activity.
