difficult as in you have to write to the local sheriff and have a pretty good reason why you need to protect yourself in public. security guard or jewelry store owner etc..
i am guessing you are in NV or AZ?

if that same situation happened in Las Vegas, cops would've shot him dead, then asked him questions..happens way too much here. You can have CCW permit and end up dead

According that that video, black folk are allowed to own guns too?

Maybe I should reconsider my position on this whole gun control thing...

i live in an area with a high number of legal carrying blacks and the highest % of women carriers in state :)

lots of responsible gun owners here and we take our gun rights seriously, considering we have the castle law doctrine down here which pretty much allows me to carry in my car without a permit as it is an extension of my home and have every right to protect myself and family in vehicle... permits? for what, these rights were inherent to us long before any american government was formed....

however, as I pointed out, carry permits are all fine and make america look cool but reality is you will be disarmed in time of any event where youll need to defend yourself or property. Blackwater wins, you will lose, trust me. People feel tough walking around with guns but in real tragedy you wont be allowed to carry it.

people love the right to carry but its pretty much a fantasy when youve had your guns taken from you in broad daylight by the military on homeland in your own neighborhood. notice how everyone thinks "from my dead hands" yeah uh huh, watch that video...

as soon as governor declares state of emergency your rights go out the window and youll be arrested or shot for carrying that same weapon you paid permit for.

The Second Amendment was written specifically to prevent exactly that from happening. We'll see how many more times the Government pulls that shit before people start fighting back with more than video interviews. Sooner or later, they will try to take guns from a group that is not a bunch of pussies. Many people on both sides will be shot. :2 cents:

d-null 04-03-2012 04:38 PM

60 is not really all that "old", think of how fast the last 11 years have gone by on this forum alone, and realize her comment was true about us being 60 before we know it too

80 on the other hand, that is old :2 cents:

as the men in the video say, when they have machine gun pointed at your family it aint that easy.

as i said, all fantasy until reality hits.

I am glad NRA fought the case but martial law pretty much negates your rights, and always will.

Fletch XXX 04-03-2012 04:44 PM

theres been a lot written on gun confiscation during and after katrina, its been years of legal battles.

Because I am like many, I have guns given to me handed down from generations and if some cop took it and smashed it, id seriously want to see him dead. cop after cop broke gun after gun right in front of people, the systematic confiscation was well documented.

I have the gun my grandmother gave to my grandfather as wedding present, Ill be damned some cop take it from me.

I understand what you're saying. However, I feel that under the right circumstances, things could turn out differently than you are suggesting.

There are huge numbers of gun owners in this country who will not turn over their guns without a fight. IF the people in that video had refused to give up their guns and those making them do so had shot them, all hell would have broken loose. The cops, military, whoever would not be safe from retaliation and/or liability.

Just look at the comment ninavain posted:

"if that same situation happened in Las Vegas, cops would've shot him dead, then asked him questions..happens way too much here. You can have CCW permit and end up dead"

I'm guessing that is in response to the Erik Scott case where he was gunned down at Costco while carrying 2 guns and a valid CCW permit. Incidents like that give people an unfortunate opinion of officers, like the one ninavain shared with us. The more it happens, the more people will develop those opinions and stand up for themselves.

Not all states allow you to carry a concealed weapon into supermarkets. In many(most?) states it is illegal to carry a concealed weapon into places of public accommodations ; even if you have a CCW permit

Technically speaking, anybody anywhere in the world can carry concealed but that doesn't make it legal. Kinda funny that some people here are more concerned with my legal ability to carry than about the convicted felons who carry illegally.

36 States think it's OK for me to carry in them. The way I see it, State and Federal laws trump personal opinions.

Its not that I think you shouldn't be able to carry it. Its just my general experience of the average person being stupid and or quick to anger. I'm not saying you are but I really can't imagine the average person actually being a responsible gun carrier.

WTF?

Where do people get this kind of dumb ass incorrect info from?

Next thing you'll be telling me it's illegal to mount a machine gun to a hummer.

lo0ni 04-03-2012 07:05 PM

You can find the info on the ATF or DOJ site, CCW forums, or any other website that has information regarding CCW regulations.

So the ATF and DOJ websites cover individual State laws like that?

Show me one link to either ATF or DOJ saying you can't conceal carry in a grocery store.

I'm not going to pretend that I know every gun law in every State but I don't believe there is on single State, who says a valid CCW permit holder can't carry in a grocery store, unless it's a State legislation based on grocery stores that offer booze sales.

Prove me wrong.

You pretended to know every states regulations when you made the statement about the information being incorrect.

As I said in my post many states prevent you from carrying concealed weapons in places of public accommodations. Many states, such as new york, prevent concealed carry in all "public areas". CCW regulations vary greatly. Some states allow private businesses to restrict concealed carry within their premises; others prevent businesses from regulation period.

If you want the info, visit a site that has info on ccw regulations as I already gave you an example of a state that heavily regulates the carrying of concealed weapons. (And remember that your statement was that no state prevents its citizens from carrying into supermarkets)
Also CCW regulations may vary from county to county.

I think that you may have a comprehension problem. Maybe you can understand this a little easier.

I'm not trying to troll you. I didn't say one word to you before you responded to my statement. This is why I told you to whom I made the response. I was talking to a poster who was questioning how someone could carry a gun into a supermarketic places.

Not all states allow people to carry guns into all public areas. I already gave you NY as an example of a state with stricter CCW regulations. You can also take a look at IL ccw regulations. I'm not going to look for individual state regulations. It would be easier, and take less time to prove your "point" that all states allow CCW holders to carry concealed weapons everywhere, but you won't be able to do that because it's not true. I will now fuck off.

oscer 04-03-2012 08:17 PM

In Maryland if they had seen a gun you would have been sentenced to death , Seriously. Even if you have it in the legal manner they dictate here they would arrest you , Get a warrant to search your house and then seize anything they could , Moral of my Rant , NEVER Carry a Gun in Maryland.

Nikki_Licks 04-03-2012 10:44 PM

We plan on touring the states in the near future and I was concerned about each states gun laws and I came up with this http://www.gunlawguide.com/

I will be purchasing a copy of this to be sure we are compliant ;)

So I'm looking over the meat selection at the grocery store. I picked up a couple of steaks, some hamburger, and ground turkey. When I turned around to put it in my cart, the cart was gone. I looked all around me but couldn't find the cart anywhere. WTF?

OK, I guess I'll start over with a new cart. As I was walking to the front of the store, I see this 60-65 year old lady pushing my cart down the aisle. I stopped her and asked why she took my cart. She replied with "I'm sorry, am I in your way?" I told her no, but that she had my shopping cart. Then she says "Some day you will be old too." I took the cart and returned to my shopping.

The lady starts following me around the store but keeping her distance. The entire time she is on her cell phone. About 15 minutes later, I am approached by 2 police officers who ask me what I've done with the woman's purse. Now she's standing there telling them I stole her cart and her purse. They hand cuffed me and took me into the store's security office. At this point they grab my wallet and find my CCW permit then they decide to frisk me and find my gun. All of a sudden, I'm a dirt bag and they start giving me even more attitude.

The woman is still out front and I can hear her screaming about me stealing her purse. The police leave me sitting there while they calm the woman down. At the same time they have security start going over the camera footage to see what I've done with her purse. They also check the restrooms and all the store trash cans.

Now here's where it gets really good...

The security footage shows the woman leaving her cart behind & taking mine. It shows I was never within 15 feet of her cart. It then shows the woman returning to her cart, taking her cell phone out of her purse, then leaving her cart and purse behind, once again, to follow me while she called the police. While she was following me, one of the Butchers found her cart, with nobody around it, and took her purse to the lost and found which is where they ended up finding it.

Turns out the lady was dropped off at the store by one of those retirement village shuttle buses. Apparently she's got some mental issues. No shit? Really?

Pretty funny to have a cop hand me my gun back while trying to explain why he had been such an asshole to me. By the time this all ended, the cops, their Supervisor, store security, store management, and the retirement home manager were all there apologizing. I've never had so many people kissing my ass at the same time.

Fuckers should have at least given me the $54 worth of groceries for free.

It's time to play
