I've always been told to "be careful firing that ammo you buy online" by a lot of people. Something about how it gouges the barrel and fucks up the gun in other ways.

Always bought my ammo at Wal-Mart, stuck with Winchester hollowpoints (cheapest around here I found by almost 10$/box).

they have pretty good deals pretty often, and they are very very reliable in shipping and their products they sell.

You can try to find the cheapest thing on line and end up with crap material or high shipping costs or you can use someone like ammoman and get great products from them and a good price.

Steel casing in general does not function well in a lot of ARs. However, I've never had a problem using zinc plated steel case ammo.

I get Federal XM193 locally for $300-$333 per 1k in the gun stores.

The gun shows here have decent ammo for decent prices.

That matches the best price I've seen lately. SGCUSA.com had a special a couple of months ago for a PMC 223 55gr 1000rd Case for $299, current list price shows as $388.97 on the site, it may pay off to check back with them periodically or get on the mailing list. I've purchased from there before and the orders are always on time and what it's supposed to be, they responded quickly to email questions I sent.
