when I was in high school I was a heavyweight wrestler and a power lifter. When I graduated I decided I wanted to join the USMC. They made it simple. 'Lose 72lbs and we'll ship you off to boot camp' I did it in three months. I did not eat anything at all but I took vitamins and drank copious amounts of grapefruit juice (gross) and exercised far too much. I would eat one meal a week. That regime would kill me stone cold if I tried anything even similar to it now.

2 days as a kid on a wild acid mission... I noticibly lost a lot of weight in that time too. Barely remember what I did but people told me I broke into an apartment, got beat up by a few people and stole somebodies bike. All I know is I woke up starving in the sand in Jacksonville Beach with a bike that wasn't mine getting eaten alive by sand fleas.

I went 9 days when I was in my 20's.

Could have gone longer but my girlfriend went ballistic about what I was doing.
I had planned to go 30 days.

Bottom line : If you can go 3 days then going 9 days is just as easy because after
3 days you no longer crave food.

I went jogging on the 4th day....big mistake!!!
I felt like I was being stabbed in the stomach with a knife for a few hours.

6 days once. Had Mono in my Teens, mind you.. I slept for 2 days straight.. woke up.. had water.. went back to sleep for another 36 hours.. woke up .. had apple juice. Went back to sleep for 24 hours.. and slowly it started to subside.

Because I had a desperate idea.

I'm a big dude; even when lean. I needed to drop muscle and doing that requires
starving. I was used to that because it was routine for me to do a 3 day fast to get
my weight down for wrestling. I would weigh 205 just 3 days before I wrestled at 185.
Fasting is not enough to make weight though. I used saunas for sweating off weight;
spit in a cup all day to remove water; wore a plastic sweat suit all day and if I thought
I need to, I would take Pamprin to make myself piss. It's the "water weight" that
actually gets you down to make the weigh in.
I probably could have eaten and still made weight but nobody takes that chance in
that game!

This stuff is so routine in high school wrestling that I never thought about it once.

But, beware!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The sauna is no joke! If there is a place for you to die doing what I did then it's going to
be the sauna. Don't even try it unless you are in shape enough to run 3 miles without
being exhausted. You will absolutely die!

My brother was there to watch me when I did the sauna and I swear I think he was
sweating more than I did about making the decision if I should go back in for another
session after not making weight yet. When he called it off, I fucking listened!

So yeah, when my girlfriend called it off, I listened. I still think she was wrong but
it doesn't matter. Someone from the outside has to call it off.

When I mentioned the "acting breaks".....WOW, I got the kind of breaks most people
only can dream of. I just couldn't pull it off!!
NOT EVEN FUCKING ONCE!!

I was the guy that people on the sidelines pull their hair out screaming :

So yeah, I felt that. I pulled out every stop I thought I had.
And I'm fully aware of the fact that what I did may not not even have been the answer.

But what would you have done if you had been handed GOLD, multiple times in a
row; and all you had to do was shine it and it came out dull in the final moments
every fucking time.................?
