See what I mean... it's part of how your thought process works... you don't know me.

I have one biological child who is 5 years old... no bankruptcies. I live in a 5 year old 4 br, 3 ba 2600 sq ft house in a fairly decent subdivision 5 miles from Lake Norman, NC. My car is less than a year old, my wife's is 3 years old and my step-daughters is 5 years old. I am paying loans on all three. Obviously, I am not rich... but I support my family and am sending my 20 yo step-daughter through community college.

I have alot of friends in all walks of life... from people who could buy and sell us both to people working low wage jobs. I don't demean any of them for their income level and they don't demean me. One of my friends even ran for Congress in 2010.

I know a lot of people just like you and they get more and more bitter the older they get... maybe one of these days you will learn to be less demeaning.

When you add up all of the various taxes, and look at the effective tax rates, it is clear the tax system is already pretty progressive. Everyone pays some tax, even those who pay no federal income taxes, and the wealthiest pay a larger percentage share of taxes. Here?s the effective tax rate for all of the groups, according to the CBO:
Lowest quintile (23.4 million taxpayers), zero to $18,900: 4.3 percent
Second lowest quintile (22.4 million), $18,900-$32,100: 10.2 percent
Middle quintile (22.9 million), $32,100-$47,400: 14.2 percent
Fourth quintile (23 million), $47,400-$71,200: 17.6 percent
Highest quintile (23.6 million), above $71,200: 25.8 percent
Top 10 percent (12 million), minimum income of $98,100: 27.5 percent
Top 5 percent (5.9 million), minimum income of $134,400: 29 percent
Top 1 percent (1.1 million), minimum income of $332,300: 31.2 percent
-------------------------------------------------
think of all the money you could make advising 1.1 million people about your tax schemes.

Again, you post this? Wow...

I really feel bad for your family knowing that they have to put up with such an uneducated prick day in and day out.

Are you jealous or what of my wife or what? Damn man... It must kill you that she's far more successful in this Industry than you have ever been.

Thank you, it's all because of hard work and never, ever stopping (like going from 5 paysites to 30 in 2 1/2 years). But even if I made six figures - well, over 200k, say - that would still place me in the top whatever percent.

My problem is not necassarily with you but rather with the propogandist "media" we have in this country, who purposefully confuses numbers and figures, and tries to obfuscate anything logical, all for their own corporate interests. The "truth" is - and everyone should agree on this, I would hope - the "truth" is that the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer, and the "middle class" is having to work 2x,3x,4x times as hard just to hang on.

Now some people think this is a good thing, the way it should be. But then again, some people prefer Kings and slavery to democratic freedom and equality (apparently). I do not. I am an AMERICAN and I do not believe in Kings.

Posted, page 2 and 3... proves the top 1% do not actually pay the top tax %'s... you've ignored it like 3 or 4 times, typical of you really.

If you were actually in this business you would probably know shows are going on.... but don't let the facts get in the way of your stupidity.

I posted CBO numbers the propaganda comes from the left on this subject.
America's problem is isn't the successful, its the unsuccessful.
Every single person in the top 10 richest Americans outside of the waltons is self made.
that speaks to the land of opportunity, not some evil rich aristocracy. thats just nonsense.
And I absolutely dispute the middle class working 2,3, and 4x harder to hand on.
working twice as hard got me here. being satisfied with a dead end job and then bitching about it is NOT working 2, 3, or 4x as hard.

no, I'm laughing at your unemployed ass manning up with an apron on while your wife works. I get it, the less successful one stays home to take care of the family but that is a reflection on you, not anyone else.

Actually, she's the cook... I kinda suck at cooking and she loves it. Like she's going to Paris for personal cooking classes in a few days to learn more.

While you do what... argue with my broke, unemployed, ass on a forum?

First, the propoganda comes from the Right for one simple reason: they control the Media. "The Left" is now an illusion. The NY TImes et al? Please. You know and I know the ONLY measurable influence the media has in soceity today comes from the cable news channels like Fox. Period.

But more to the point: when I say the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer you don't dispute this because no one really can. It's the truth. The "middle class"? What I meant was: a person making 50k used to be able to afford many things for their family, like cars and college and vacations. Now they must work TWO jobs to earn that 50k, or work twice as hard AT their 50k a year gig, to maintain their lifestyles. they're being squeezed, another fact undisputed.

Again, some people (the rich) like it this way. No Middle Class means no one to protest or vote to stop the rich-getting-richer madness since the poor can't and never have been able to stop it.

THIS is why the Right-Republicans-Teabaggers-Rich want to destroy the middle class and have JUST the rich and the very poor. Ironic since many Teabaggers make under 25k a year so are actually helping to hurt themselves. LOL

you confuse bitterness with derision.

LOL
I fully understand what you're saying... honestly, I think most of us do here.

However, logic and facts aren't going to work with 12clicks.

"The truth is that Mr. Bush’s deficits were the product of spending, not tax cuts. In fact, Mr. Obama could learn an important lesson for his own economic plan by studying Mr. Bush’s two very different attempts at tax-cutting.

What the United States needed then (and needs now) was to stimulate investment, not consumption.

By 2003, Mr. Bush grasped this lesson. In that year, he cut the dividend and capital gains rates to 15 percent each, and the economy responded. In two years, stocks rose 20 percent. In three years, $15 trillion of new wealth was created. The U.S. economy added 8 million new jobs from mid-2003 to early 2007, and the median household increased its wealth by $20,000 in real terms.

But the real jolt for tax-cutting opponents was that the 03 Bush tax cuts also generated a massive increase in federal tax receipts. From 2004 to 2007, federal tax revenues increased by $785 billion, the largest four-year increase in American history. According to the Treasury Department, individual and corporate income tax receipts were up 40 percent in the three years following the Bush tax cuts. And (bonus) the rich paid an even higher percentage of the total tax burden than they had at any time in at least the previous 40 years. This was news to theNew York Times, whose astonished editorial board could only describe the gains as a “surprise windfall.”

Unfortunately, Mr. Bush allowed Congress to spend away those additional tax revenues. The fact is that the increase in tax revenues that flowed from the ‘03 tax cuts could have paid for the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq and then some but for rampant discretionary domestic spending. "

I think that Pres. Obama would be VERY happy to have the results Bush did from 2003 to 2007. I know that I and many others made a lot of money in those "Bush years"

Don't quote the Washington TIMES Robbie. It's a Right Wing rag owned by the Moonies, for Pete's sake. LOL

I have, and every good propoganda scheme must have a 'pressure valve', otherwise you end up with Nazi Germany. No no, can't have that. So what you need is about 5-8% of "liberal" sprinkled in with the 90% conservative to give the ILLUSION that it's A. fair and balanced and B. that a "liberal media" exists so the Right can bash it.

Listen people, seriously: we can debate the "moves" all day long, it's what everybody does. Thing is, how many of you realize that Chess is being played and you/I/we are the pieces? The only question left is: do you know what piece on the board you actually are? If you know, as I do, then 99.4% of the shit they try and throw at you will not stick.

Bush had nothing to do with the creation of T.S.A., or Homeland Security, in addition to the prolonged wars in Iraq and Afghanistan? Medicare Act of 2003? Massive increases in agricultural subsidies (farm bill 2002)? A 47% increase in defense spending, and 80% increase in education (failing public schools)???

That was all Congress?

How many spending bills did he actually "veto" in his 8 years? "George W. Bush has demonstrated that “limited government” is not part of his political vocabulary".

Massachusetts Senate hopeful Elizabeth Warren is scheduled to appear in an AFL-CIOsponsored ?National Teach-In? with two leading members of Democratic Socialists of America.

The AFL-CIO wants activists to join ?Elizabeth Warren, Frances Fox Piven, Barbara Ehrenreich (invited) and student activists for a national teach-in on the jobs crisis and student activists? fight for workers? rights, equal access to education, fair taxation and economic and social justice.?

Academic Frances Fox Piven is an honorary chair of the US? largest Marxist organization Democratic Socialists of America. She was also the originator, with her late husband and DSA comrade, Richard Cloward, of the infamous Cloward-Piven Strategy ? a plan to advance socialism in the US by deliberately bankrupting state governments through a program of massively expanding welfare rolls.

Author/activist Barbara Ehrenreich is a former DSA co-chair and one of the original founders, in 2008, of Progressives for Obama. In 2007, Ehrenreich was also a leader ofMovement for a Democratic Society where she worked with Barack Obama friends and former Weather Underground terrorist leaders Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn.

A. 8% could not have resulted in the election of President Obama.

B. Read Bernie Goldberg's book "A Slobbering Love Affair."

That was all Congress?

How many spending bills did he actually "veto" in his 8 years? "George W. Bush has demonstrated that “limited government” is not part of his political vocabulary".

I'm pretty sure that is the point of the article showing the facts on the deficit.
The tax cut years of Bush INCREASED the amount of revenue coming in. But Bush presided over far too much spending. He & Congress were throwing it out faster than it came in.

That's why I laugh at the newscasters saying that "Americans are sick of gridlock and want Congress to 'get things done'"

Bullshit.

I want Congress to STOP doing shit. We don't need MORE laws. And if the Democrats had acted more like the Republicans are now...Bush wouldn't have been able to spend all that money as they would have been blocking it.

I say these idiots in Washington should stand their ground and do the things they were elected to do. And if they believe that something is "right"...Vote for it. And if they believe something is "wrong" vote AGAINST it.

The media is clamoring for them all to rubber stamp everything the President says. Well...everytime Congress has done that throughout history without taking a good long look at what they are agreeing to...it has not been good.

That's what Beverly Perdue was talking about... if they would stop trying to fix problems, we wouldn't have so many problems.

Of course the right wing media (mostly talk radio) hammered that she was trying to rig the elections so dems could stay in power or some bullshit...

Point being, watch what you say or you'll be branded as trying to rig the election rather than injecting logic.
