To me it sounds like they fell for a scam. It's a bit like those adverts around the net "make $534 per day on Google".

Falling for scams can be a fantastic part of one's education. At the same time though, I don't like to help the scammers, so I've made a mental note to avoid their products

Who the hell pays for a low wage job? Really, who pays thousands of dollars for an entry level grunt job?

Also what kind of stupid "tec-generation" young adult doesn't check the web for job info.

So true, good lesson for them to learn. The scams I walked into as a naive 16yo really helped to toughen me up and teach me about the world, looking back I'm very grateful to have experienced them

It's disgusting, it seems to be a slippery slope which most people can go down if given the chance.

Yeah... funny how they didn't give any details as to how they got there to begin with. One girl is complaining that she has to work with her hands which is bad because she wants to be a surgeon. Nothing about that video makes sense.

Note also it's NOT Hershey's they are talking about. The packing of already made candy bars for shipment is done by a sub-contractor. And I'll bet that subcontractor gets workers from an employment agency. But that doesn't make for as good a story.

If only these students had watched The Simpsons when they were growing up, in particular the episode where Bart goes on an exchange to France and ends up as a slave in a grape farm. I've started watching The Simpsons recently (after a 15 year break) and I've observed that they illustrate many an important lesson
