So I was just looking at my Verizon bill and it hits me. I am paying full price for pretty much everything on the fucking thing. Bill is $200. So I go online and notice they have a promo for $79.99 or some shit for everything I am paying $200 for... So I do some clicking and it totals up my new monthly bill to be $150 (roughly, with taxes and my DVR's and shit like that).

Nice! Not only do I get to save $50 a month, I get upgraded from 250 channels of utter shit to 390 or some shit of utter crappolla. Plus, I get 35/35mbps Internet instead of the current 20/15 or whatever it is...

So I look at my T-Mobile bill and it's basically the same bill I've had for about 5 or 6 years... Surely they have better rates right? Called them up and told them I was about to switch to Verizon if they can't knock $50 off my bill somehow. So they switch me to whatever their newest rate plan for families is and in doing so it lops $50 off my bill.

$1200 a year that stays in my pocket.

Anyway... Maybe posting this here will get some of you to take a look at your rate plans and then renew them at the lower rates.

My cable is $70. Comes with three DVRs. I get more than enough channels to watch. With the DVR recording shit. I don't watch much TV anyhow.

My cell phone bill, through Verizon, is $200 a month. That's for three smart phones with full insurance on each phone. However, you have to watch your cell phone bill. They talk you into putting shit on there and then you forget all about it, and a year later you discover you've been charged for the past year for something you never used. My kid's phone was being nailed for unlimited texting, but when we upgraded to a smart phone it got unlimited everything but they were still dinging us for $5.99 a month for unlimited texting - which she already has.

My internet is free through my HOA, and they are awesome.

A little side note...

My GF's mom has had the same basic cell phone for about 10 years! So I look at her bill. It is something like no text, talk 200 minutes, no web = $32 a month with tax.

So I have my GF call them and act like she is her mom. Her mom used to work for this company and is retired so she is on some kind of special discount shit, plus she gets a senior discount.

Now they are sending her an Android phone with 450 minutes, unlimited nights/weekends/mobile, unlimited text and 2GB data for $40 with tax.

Sure she has to pay $8 more now, but she can actually talk to people, text her grand kids and use it for GPS, movie times, etc...

I hear you on the $5.99 deal... I had a similar thing with a daughter that had a phone through my account. When she moved out she got her own cell phone account. Months went by before I realized I was still paying insurance on her old phone.

i am roughly paying 40$ for internet and around 50$ for mobile.. not to bad and the cable is around 20$ or so .. i don't watch tv..
