I logged in and got a few messages from people concerned about future problems with linkspun. They act like soon the service will no longer be around. Does anyone know what's going on? Linkspun is my favorite webmaster tool

A few technical issues and lack of communication aren't helping. I treat things like Linkspun as a fortunate resource. You're fortunate when it's there but don't build your whole strategy around it.

The service works fine for me. I'm just shocked that it seems some people are panicking about the service coming to an end. I'm just concerned that the service may no longer exist soon.. I'm happy with the way everything works. Everything in life can be better. It would be nice to hear something from the people at linkspun. I'm sure I'm not the only one that has heard rumors the site might go down.

LS is a great way to find trades but you need to have a backup plan on the way you manage them. Personnaly , I use Links Organizer and spreadsheets to manage all the trades I find using Linkspun.

I have been developing something similar since the last similar service died. I don't even remember the name of that one. Anyway, with another week or two of work I could have a good alternative online. I haven't looked at that code in months but I'm sure its about ready.

I'm not sure how to make money with it though. I'm sure that's why the owners keep losing interest.

I love linkspun but have always ran my trades through links organizer as well just in case the day ever came that it's no longer around.

I also use LO to check recips so if LS goes down all of my links will stay active and i can pull any that trade partners drop.

Like if you have a bro that can log in and take over or something. Take care of the reg renew or whatevs when people drop.

Hi,

Everyone has been contacting me lately to find out what is going on with Linkspun, and more importantly Jdoughs. I am in the same boat as many of you, having not heard from John in many months. We are all very concerned for him, and hope whatever situation he is in he is able to get out of sooner than later. With that being said, I created this thread to give updates about the situation.

I've spoken to Amerinoc about the sites' hosting and they said while John has outstanding hosting bills for his other sites, their agreement to host Linkspun & Tradespun for him will stand as long as the domains are pointed at Amerinoc. A friend of John is currently in control of Linkspun.com, so that should be safe.

Unfortunately due to the situation it seems that Amerinoc has restricted my access to the servers, so there's little I can do right now as far as backups. I hope that will change.

If you know anymore insight on the situation, feel free to share it here.

LINKSPUN is safe... The hosting is covered by a contract to advertise the host AmeriNOC. The domain has been renewed to 2013.

Currently solutions are being mapped out to get the PR checker working again. Once that is done the site will be back to full functionality.

yeah Link organizer is the solution. It will check the trades. It also makes posting the trades a lot quicker. check it out if you havent yet.

Linkspun isn't going anywhere. Hosting is paid for. Domain is paid for.
