    DVD Rip to your site... best render settings?

    all you video guys out there, if you had a DVD you wanted to stick up on your site, what setting would you use to Rip the DVD to WMV at like 1500kbps?

    CBR, CBR 2 pass or VBR?

          Honestly Gleem, I wouldn't convert to WMV anymore if I were you. Strictly flash for progressive downloads.
          I've trusted my sites to them for over a decade...

              you think you can keep members on a paysite without any downloadable WMV/mpeg??

              from my stats/member polls members want WMV's and Flash embedded/streaming and they want to be able to download the WMV file to save for later.

                      IMO divx is asking for trouble with paysite cutomer service, unless you offer it in basic mpeg or WMV so they can watch without having to mess with video drivers.

                          Take a look at a lot of the top program's members areas and get back to me on that question.

                          Not to mention the fact that most of the surfers have gotten used to the whole flash video thing as the main way to watch video on the net.

                          As long as you bill it as "Super high quality" you should have no issues. The biggest reason people wanted downloads was because streaming still sucks on most connections. Progressive flash downloads have pretty much solved that issue in most people's minds.
